  • NTIRE 2022 Burst Super-Resolution Challenge
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: 2022 IEEE/CVF CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER VISION AND PATTERN RECOGNITION WORKSHOPS (CVPRW 2022). - : IEEE. - 9781665487399 - 9781665487405 ; , s. 1040-1060

    • Burst super-resolution has received increased attention in recent years due to its applications in mobile photography. By merging information from multiple shifted images of a scene, burst super-resolution aims to recover details which otherwise cannot be obtained using a simple input image. This paper reviews the NTIRE 2022 challenge on burst super-resolution. In the challenge, the participants were tasked with generating a clean RGB image with 4x higher resolution, given a RAW noisy burst as input. That is, the methods need to perform joint denoising, demosaicking, and super-resolution. The challenge consisted of 2 tracks. Track 1 employed synthetic data, where pixel-accurate high-resolution ground truths are available. Track 2 on the other hand used real-world bursts captured from a handheld camera, along with approximately aligned reference images captured using a DSLR. 14 teams participated in the final testing phase. The top performing methods establish a new state-of-the-art on the burst super-resolution task.

  • OGLE-2017-BLG-0406 : Spitzer Microlens Parallax Reveals Saturn-mass Planet Orbiting M-dwarf Host in the Inner Galactic Disk
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Astronomical Journal. - : American Astronomical Society. - 0004-6256 .- 1538-3881. ; 160:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report the discovery and analysis of the planetary microlensing event OGLE-2017-BLG-0406, which was observed both from the ground and by the Spitzer satellite in a solar orbit. At high magnification, the anomaly in the light curve was densely observed by ground-based-survey and follow-up groups, and it was found to be explained by a planetary lens with a planet/host mass ratio of q = 7.0 x 10(-4) from the light-curve modeling. The ground-only and Spitzer-only data each provide very strong one-dimensional (1D) constraints on the 2D microlens parallax vector pi(E). When combined, these yield a precise measurement of pi(E) and of the masses of the host M-host = 0.56 +/- 0.07 M-circle dot and planet M-planet = 0.41 +/- 0.05 M-Jup. The system lies at a distance D-L = 5.2 +/- 0.5 kpc from the Sun toward the Galactic bulge, and the host is more likely to be a disk population star according to the kinematics of the lens. The projected separation of the planet from the host is a(perpendicular to) = 3.5 +/- 0.3 au (i.e., just over twice the snow line). The Galactic-disk kinematics are established in part from a precise measurement of the source proper motion based on OGLE-IV data. By contrast, the Gaia proper-motion measurement of the source suffers from a catastrophic 10 sigma error.

    • We applied a positive muon spin rotation and relaxation (μ+SR) technique to battery materials research by investigating Li diffusion in cathode and electrolyte materials. Recently, we have found that Li diffusion in graphite, which is commonly used as an anode material in Li-ion batteries, is detectable with μ+SR. Following upon the initial μ+SR measurements on the Li intercalated graphites, C6Li and C12Li, μ+SR spectra were also measured for C12Li0.92 and C18Li0.90 posing a slightly different occupancy in the same stage structure as those of C6Li and C12Li. The temperature dependence of diffusive nature in C12Li0.92 and C18Li0.90 was found to be similar in nature to those in C6Li and C12Li. Such a diffusion was found to start to occur approximately by 50 K lower than those of C6Li and C12Li. This suggests that Li starts to diffuse at lower temperatures in the nonstoichiometric Li intercalated graphite samples than that in the stoichiometric samples.

  • Li-ion diffusion in Li intercalated graphite C6Li and C12Li probed by mu+SR
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP. - : Royal Society of Chemistry. - 1463-9076 .- 1463-9084. ; 19:29, s. 19058-19066
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In order to study a diffusive behavior of Li+ in Li intercalated graphites, we have measured muon spin relaxation (mu+SR) spectra for C6Li and C12Li synthesized with an electrochemical reaction between Li and graphite in a Li-ion battery. For both compounds, it was found that Li+ ions start to diffuse above 230 K and the diffusive behavior obeys a thermal activation process. The activation energy (E-a) for C6Li is obtained as 270(5) meV, while E-a = 170(20) meV for C12Li. Assuming a jump diffusion of Li+ in the Li layer of C6Li and C12Li, a self-diffusion coefficient D-Li at 310 K was estimated as 7.6(3) x 10(-11) (cm(2) s(-1)) in C6Li and 14.6(4) x 10(-11) (cm(2) s(-1)) in C12Li.
