  • Clustering the IMP thought : Searching roots and diversities in IMP research
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: 34th Annual Industrial Marketing & Purchasing Conference KEDGE Business School, Marseille, France, 4-7 September 2018.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • IMP research is often treated as an empirical perspective describing complexities of repeated business-to-business exchanges and their embeddedness. While building on some common understandings and concepts, this paper asks: How homogeneous is the IMP research? This paper uses cluster analysis to capture the roots and various sub-groups of IMP research as means to depict the question of homogeneity (i.e. a core focus in the research) or heterogeneity (i.e. using references from other fields or specific to sub-fields) of the IMP thought. In this scientific work in progress paper we introduce how we design to use bibliographical methods in order to harvest data from an extensive amount of IMP-related articles written from the 1970’s onwards. In this first attempt to reveal IMP we used overall 294 articles yielded to 10,615 co-citation relationships. A threshold of minimum number of citations of a cited reference was set to five (5) to capture such references that have been cited in multiple publications. We introduce visual mapping of defined subject area clusters and as an example we describe shortly clusters. Perhaps not surprisingly our findings suggest that IMP research is not so homogenous, with at least four clear clusters of IMP-research each utilizing different key referenfernces.

  • Data-sharing SME, Last-Mile Delivery LivingLab : a FEDeRATED LivingLab
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: FoI - Digitaliserade sammodala hållbara transportkedjor, Living Labs i projekt FEDeRATED. - Borlänge : Trafikverket. - 9789180453226
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This Data-sharing SME, Last-Mile Delivery LivingLab focuses on the last-mile (LM) transport setting. The LivingLab involves actors such as last-mile couriers, traditional delivery companies, retailers, and terminal companies. The LivingLab is one of 23 under the EU project FEDeRATED (www.federatedplatforms.eu), which aims to foster and achieve digital co-operation in logistics. Stakeholder engagement is required to achieve open data sharing in the interests of improving the operational efficiency of delivery. This LivingLab identifies that the last-mile couriers dispute the benefits of data sharing, while being pushed towards data sharing by (environmental) regulations and other market forces. However, and somewhat in contradiction, a considerable number of the couriers voluntarily associate themselves with a semi-Federated system of open and neutral data sharinginfrastructure. The financial gains for these couriers have been substantial.

  • Last-mile logistics of perishable products : a review of effectiveness and efficiency measures used in empirical research
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Retail & Distribution Management. - : Emerald Group Publishing Limited. - 0959-0552 .- 1758-6690. ; 50:13, s. 116-139
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • PurposeCurrent online business development redistributes last-mile logistics (LML) from consumer to retailer and producer. This paper identifies how empirical LML research has used and defined logistic performance measures for key grocery industry actors. Using a multi-actor perspective on logistic performance, the authors discuss coordination issues important for optimising LML at system level.Design/methodology/approachA semi-systematic literature review of 85 publications was conducted to analyse performance measurements used for effectiveness and efficiency, and for which actors.FindingsFew empirical LML studies exist examining coordination between key actors or on system level. Most studies focus on logistic performance measurements for retailers and/or consumers, not producers. Key goals and resource utilisations lack research, including all key actors and system-level coordination.Research limitations/implicationsCurrent LML performance research implies a risk for sub-optimisation. Through expanding on efficiency and effectiveness interplay at system level and introducing new research perspectives, the review highlights the need to revaluate single-actor, single-measurement studies.Practical implicationsNo established scientific guidelines exist for solving LML optimisation in the grocery industry. For managers, it is important to thoroughly consider efficiency and effectiveness in LML execution, coordination and collaboration among key actors, avoiding sub-optimisations for business and sustainability.Originality/valueThe study contributes to current knowledge by reviewing empirical research on LML performance in the grocery sector, showing how previous research disregards the importance of multiple actors and coordination of actors, efficiency and effectiveness.
