  • Expression and clinical significance of FXYD3 in endometrial cancer
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Oncology Letters. - : Spandidos Publications. - 1792-1074 .- 1792-1082. ; 8:2, s. 517-522
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • FXYD3 expression is upregulated in numerous cancer cell types. The present study compared the FXDY3 expression in normal endometrium, premalignant lesion and endometrial cancer tissue samples, and investigated the correlation between FXDY3 expression and clinicopathological features. FXYD3 expression was analyzed by streptavidin-peroxidase immunohistochemistry in 21 normal endometrial tissue samples, 18 atypical endometrial hyperplasia samples and 50 tissues obtained from patients diagnosed with endometrial cancer. The percentage of FXYD3-positive cell expression in the normal endometrium, atypical hyperplasia and endometrial cancer tissues samples was 0, 22, and 26%, respectively. The differences between the atypical hyperplasia and endometrial cancer groups were statistically significant when compared with the normal group (P=0.007 and P=0.037, respectively). There was no significant difference between the atypical hyperplasia and endometrial cancer groups. The percentage of FXYD3-positive cells correlated with the fertility frequency (Pless than0.05). In conclusion, FXYD3 is a potential biomarker for endometrial cancer, and its upregulation may be an early event in endometrial carcinoma progression. In addition, FXYD3 expression in endometrial carcinoma correlates with fertility frequency.

  • Effects of substrate temperature on the uniformity of InGaAs epilayers using a dual-zone manipulator
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Crystal Growth. - : Elsevier BV. - 0022-0248. ; 574
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Three-inch InGaAs epilayers are grown by solid source molecular beam epitaxy using the manipulator equipped with dual-zone heaters. The effects of the substrate temperature on the uniformity of material surface morphology, indium composition, photoluminescence, electronic mobility, and background doping are investigated. As the temperature of the outer heater in the range of 625 °C to 655 °C, no dim area is observed on the edge of the material surface. At the same time, the indium composition fluctuation of the high-resolution X-ray diffraction and the photoluminescence wavelength fluctuation are less than ±0.1% for the epilayers grown at the optimum substrate temperatures.

  • Exploration of electrocatalytic water oxidation properties of NiFe catalysts doped with nonmetallic elements (P, S, Se)
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: International journal of hydrogen energy. - : Elsevier BV. - 0360-3199 .- 1879-3487. ; 46:79, s. 38992-39002
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The introduction of non-metallic atoms (P, S, Se) has emerged as an effective way to improve the catalytic activity of transition metal based layered double hydroxides (LDHs) for oxygen evolution reaction. However, objective comparisons of the performance of heteroelement-doped catalysts are complicated by the lack of standardization both in the electrochemical tests and physicochemical analysis. Herein, we use a unified protocol for evaluating the catalytic activities of heteroelement-doped NiFe-LDHs and explore the reasons for the differences in their catalytic performance. Some regular results are found from comparing the properties of the heteroelement-doped catalysts: (1) the introduction of P/S/Se can optimize the redox behaviors of Ni species, which is conducive to regulating adsorption energy of intermediates and the formation of high-valent active sites; (2) the specific area of catalysts was expanded after heteroelements doping, ensuring a more favorable structure for heterogeneous catalysis; (3) All P/S/Se-doped catalysts showed better activities when compared to the original NiFe LDHs in alkaline solutions, and the catalysts doped with S showed the best performance (Se < P < S).

  • Twisted or Planar? Side-Chain Tailoring of Fluorene-based Hole-Transport Materials for Efficient and Stable Perovskite Solar Cells
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Solar RRL. - 2367-198X. ; 7:18
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The functionalization of small-molecule hole-transport materials (HTMs) heavily relies on the rational design of molecular geometry, which can optimize both intrinsic HTM properties and interfacial properties for realizing high-performance and stable lead halide perovskite solar cells (LHPSCs). Herein, two fluorene-based donor–π linker–donor HTMs are seen, FL01 and FL02, whose side chains are tailored with planar phenyl-carbazole groups and twisted triphenylamine groups, respectively. Benefiting from the high conformational flexibility of twisted side chains, the strong and oriented interaction via PbO bonding is well coordinated at the perovskite and FL02 interface, which favors the interfacial charge transfer as well as the protection of perovskite layer by effectively blocking or mitigating the diffusion of hygroscopic dopants toward the perovskite surface. Consequently, the performance of FL02 HTM-based n–i–p LHPSCs is significantly enhanced by achieving a power conversion efficiency of 17.8%, which is twice higher than that (8.6%) of FL01 HTM-based ones and comparable with the case (18.8%) of conventional spiro-OMeTAD HTM-based devices. More importantly, the FL02-based devices exhibit impressively high operation and storage stabilities with T80 and TS80 lifetimes of >98 h and ≈270 days, respectively, which are among the longest lifespans for the type of hygroscopically doped LHPSCs.

  • Can Nup88 expression be associated with atypical endometrial hyperplasia and endometrial cancer? A preliminary study
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Pathology, Research and Practice. - : ELSEVIER GMBH, URBAN & FISCHER VERLAG. - 0344-0338 .- 1618-0631. ; 212:4, s. 274-278
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Nup88 is overexpressed in a number of types of carcinomas and is associated with myometrial invasion, but its exact expression pattern in endometrial cancer and premalignant lesions is unknown. Aims: To evaluate the role of Nup88 in endometrial cancers and atypical endometrial hyperplasia and its clinicopathological significance. Methods: Nup88 expression was examined by immunohistochemistry in samples from 104 endometrial cancers, 21 atypical endometrial hyperplasia lesions, and 40 normal endometria. All samples were from patients who underwent surgery at the First Hospital of Hebei Medical University (Shijiazhuang, China) between April 2006 and December 2009. Nup88 expression was compared between the groups and associations were assessed between Nup88 and clinicopathological characteristics of the subjects. Results: Nup88 expression in cancer (76% of samples) and atypical hyperplasia (91%) was significantly higher compared to normal endometrium (33%, both P < 0.001), but there was no significant difference between endometrial cancer and atypical hyperplasia (P = 0.237). The expression of Nup88 increased significantly with increasing exposure time to estrogen (P = 0.033). Conclusions: Nup88 may be related to the occurrence of endometrial cancers and premalignant lesions. Nup88 might be a useful biomarker for pre-malignant lesions and early-stage endometrial cancer. • Brain lipid binding protein in axon-Schwann cell interactions and peripheral nerve tumorigenesis.
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Molecular and Cellular Biology. - 0270-7306 .- 1098-5549. ; 23:6, s. 2213-24
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Loss of axonal contact characterizes Schwann cells in benign and malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNST) from neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) patients. Tumor Schwann cells demonstrate NF1 mutations, elevated Ras activity, and aberrant epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression. Using cDNA microarrays, we found that brain lipid binding protein (BLBP) is elevated in an EGFR-positive subpopulation of Nf1 mutant mouse Schwann cells (Nf1(-/-) TXF) that grows away from axons; BLBP expression was not affected by farnesyltransferase inhibitor, an inhibitor of H-Ras. BLBP was also detected in EGFR-positive cell lines derived from Nf1:p53 double mutant mice and human MPNST. BLBP expression was induced in normal Schwann cells following transfection with EGFR but not H-Ras12V. Furthermore, EGFR-mediated BLBP expression was not inhibited by dominant-negative H-Ras, indicating that BLBP expression is downstream of Ras-independent EGFR signaling. BLBP-blocking antibodies enabled process outgrowth from Nf1(-/-) TXF cells and restored interaction with axons, without affecting cell proliferation or migration. Following injury, BLBP expression was induced in normal sciatic nerves when nonmyelinating Schwann cells remodeled their processes. These data suggest that BLBP, stimulated by Ras-independent pathways, regulates Schwann cell-axon interactions in normal peripheral nerve and peripheral nerve tumors.

  • Metalloid Te-Doped Fe-Based Catalysts Applied for Electrochemical Water Oxidation
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: CHEMISTRYSELECT. - : Wiley. - 2365-6549. ; 6:24, s. 6154-6158
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Metal telluride nanocatalysts have been widely used in the catalytic reactions. However, there are few examples of electrocatalytic water oxidation with metal telluride as catalysts, especially Fe-based telluride, to the best of our knowledge, has not yet been reported. In this work, the Te-doped Fe-based catalysts (FeTex) with crystalline and amorphous nanosheet structures have been successfully synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) as well as electrodeposition (ED) on the iron foam (IF), where the latter exhibited more remarkable electrocatalytic performance towards the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in the alkaline electrolyte, requiring the overpotential (eta) of only 264.4 mV to reach a current density of 10 mA cm(-2) with a Tafel slope of 54.2 mV dec(-1). The electrochemical study confirmed that the residual Te in ED-FeTex does play a role in promoting the catalytic activity for the electrocatalytic water oxidation.
