  • Toward Wearable Sensors : Advances, Trends, and Challenges
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: ACM Computing Surveys. - : Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). - 0360-0300 .- 1557-7341. ; 55:14S
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Sensors suitable for wearable devices have many special characteristics compared to other sensors, such as stability, sensitivity, sensor volume, biocompatibility, and so on. With the development of wearable technology, amazing wearable sensors have attracted a lot of attention, and some researchers have done a large number of technology explorations and reviews. However, previous surveys generally were concerned with a specified application and comprehensively reviewed the computing techniques for the signals required by this application, as well as how computing can promote data processing. There is a gap in the opposite direction, i.e., the fundamental data source actively stimulates application rather than from the application to the data, and computing promotes the acquisition of data rather than data processing. To fill this gap, starting with different parts of the body as the source of signal, the fundamental data sources that can be obtained and detected are explored by combining the three sensing principles, as well as discussing and analyzing the existing and potential applications of machine learning in simplifying sensor designs and the fabrication of sensors.

  • Application of an innovative grid-based surveillance strategy to ensure elimination and prevent reintroduction of malaria in high-risk border communities in China
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: BMC Public Health. - : Springer Nature. - 1471-2458. ; 22:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Grid management is a grassroots governance strategy widely implemented in China since 2004 to improve the government's efficiency to actively find and solve problems among populated regions. A grid-based strategy surveillancing high-risk groups, including mobile and migrant populations (MMPs), in the China-Myanmar border region has played an indispensable role in promoting and consolidating the malaria elimination efforts by tracking and timely identification of potential importation or re-establishment of malaria among MMPs. A sequential mixed methods was implementated to explore the operational mechanism and best practices of the grid-based strategy including through the focus group discussions (FGDs), comparison of before and after the implementation of a grid-based strategy in the field sites, and data collection from the local health system. This paper distills the implementation mechanism and highlights the role of the grid-based strategy in the elimination and prevention of re-establishment of malaria transmission.

  • Mechanism of fluidized chlorination reaction of Kenya natural rutile ore
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Rare Metals. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1001-0521 .- 1867-7185. ; 33:4, s. 485-492
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, the thermodynamics and kinetics of nature rutile carbochlorination in a fluidized-bed were investigated. The thermodynamic calculations of TiO2-C-Cl-2 system show that when C is excess in the solid phase, titanium tetrachloride and carbon monoxide can exist stably. At high temperature, the reaction with CO as the product is the dominant reaction. The appropriate reaction conditions are as follows: reaction temperature of 950 A degrees C, reaction time of 40 min, carbon ratio of 30 wt% of rutile, natural rutile particle size of -96 mu m, petroleum coke size of -150 mu m, and chlorine flow of 0.036 m(3)center dot h(-1). Under the above conditions, the reaction conversion rate of TiO2 can reach about 95 %. This paper proposed a reaction rate model, and got a rutile chlorination rate formula, which is generally consistent with the experimental data. For the TiO2-C-Cl-2 system, the reaction rate is dependent on the initial radius of rutile particle, density, and the partial pressures of Cl-2. From 900 to 1,000 A degrees C, the apparent activation energy is 10.569 kJ center dot mol(-1), and the mass diffusion is found to be the main reaction-controlling step. The expression for the chlorine reaction rate in the C-Cl-2 system is obtained, and it depends on the degree of reaction, the partial pressure of Cl-2, and the size of rutile particle.
