- Föreliggande studie har som syfte att undersöka vilka kunskaper och erfarenheter som förskollärare lyfter fram i samtal kring förskolebarns utforskande av väder och klimat som naturvetenskapliga fenomen. Det empiriska materialet omfattas av deltagande observationer vid ett nätverksmöte med förskollärare som under läsåret 2020/2021 har temat väder och klimat. Med hjälp av begreppen ”terrestri-al” och ”natur-kultur” hämtade från Donna Haraway och Bruno Latour görs analyser av förskollärarnas samtal. Studien visar att de kunskaper och erfarenheter som förskollärare lyfter fram som handlar om kroppsliga upplevelser av natur och väder, men även om en medvetenhet om och kunskap kring människans del i ekologin. Studien visar utöver detta vilka didaktiska frågor och överväganden som aktualiseras i förskollärares samtal om barns utforskande av väder och klimat samt belyser frågan om att göra och synliggöra kopplingar kring naturvetenskap-liga fenomen. I relation till tidigare forskning om didaktiska överväganden inom naturvetenskaplig undervisning i en antropocen tid problematiseras den polarise-rade frågan om att ”lära-om” kontra att ”lära-med” natur och väder i en förskole-kontext.

Attributing human traits to other species as alignment work : exploring possibilities of a terrestrial knowledge production

- Against the backdrop of human-induced climate change and severe biodiversity loss, feminist technoscience scholars stress the need for movements towards less anthropocentric knowledge production processes. The present paper delves into the alignment work involved in striving to coordinate and align human-centred epistemic cultures and epistemic cultures centring other species. In an early childhood education site, children, teachers, materials, imagination and the attribution of human traits to snails are elaborated on as key actors. In a literary fiction site, also referred to as environmental imagination, texts, choices of literary style, scientific facts and the attribution of human traits to eels, are featured as actors accomplishing alignment work. The paper argues that adding the concept of the terrestrial to the analysis of the alignment work, as proposed by feminist technoscience scholar Donna Haraway, makes other aspects and versions of non-anthropocentric or less anthropocentric knowledge production processes visible. The paper adds to STS-discussions on alignment work through highlighting alignment work processes as political, power-producing processes, which privilege certain interests while downplaying others.

- The present paper explores how the video games of Minecraft and Super Mario become enacted through children's play, material settings and toys in a Swedish preschool. Ethnographic methods, including participant observations and informal conversations, have been used and the empirical materials produced have been analyzed with methodological resources from Actor-Network Theory. The analysis focuses on how Minecraft and Super Mario become enacted through relations between children's bodies, physical movements as well as material interiors and exteriors of the preschool. Moreover, the analysis shows how multiple versions of the games of Minecraft and Super Mario become enacted in the preschool setting depending on what elements become active in a particular situation. On the whole, the findings of the paper question grand narratives on active and passive gameplaying children, featuring children and local settings as producers of digital popular culture.
