  • Behavioural repertory of cats without cerebral cortex from infancy
  • 1976
  • Ingår i: Experimental Brain Research. - 0014-4819. ; 25:2, s. 115-130
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Bilateral removal of the cerebral cortex was made in cats neonatally. Spontaneous and imposed behaviour was studied while they were growing up and after they had become adult. Special emphasis was put on the utilization of visual cues and on learning. The cats ate, drank and groomed themselves adequately. Adequate maternal and female sexual behaviour was observed. They utilized the visual and haptic senses with respect to external space. Two cats were trained to perform visual discrimination if a T-maze. The adequacy of the behaviour of these cats is compared to that of animals with similar lesions made at maturity.

  • Cyclic compression of the intracranial optic nerve: patterns of visual failure and recovery.
  • 1976
  • Ingår i: Journal of neurology, neurosurgery, and psychiatry. - 0022-3050. ; 39:11, s. 1109-13
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A patient with a cystic craniopharyngioma below the right optic nerve had several recurrences requiring surgery. Finally the cyst was connected with a subcutaneous reservoir by means of a fine catheter. Symptoms of optic nerve compression recurred more than 50 times during the following year, and were relieved within seconds upon drainage of the reservoir. In each cycle, a drop in visual acuity preceded a measurable change in the visual field. The pattern of field changes was an increasingly severe, uniform depression. Optic nerve ischaemia induced by compression was probably the most important factor causing visual failure in this case.

  • [Secondary syphilis with ocular involvement in a 77-year-old man]
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Lakartidningen. - 0023-7205. ; 102:35, s. 2399-400
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • A 77 year old man complained of vision loss and presented psoriasiform skin manifestations. A bilateral panuveitis was observed and after extensive investigation including vitrectomy the patient was diagnosed with secondary syphilis with ocular involvement. Syphilis has shown an increasing incidence in Sweden especially within the group of men who have sex with men. This case report reminds us of the diversity of symptoms which syphilis may present and the importance of PCR to demonstrate Treponema pallidum.
