  • Odour signals for detection and control of indoor pyralid moths
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: IOBC/WPRS Bulletin. - 1027-3115. ; 41, s. 69-74
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Three pyralid moths, the Mediterranean flour moth (Ephestia kuehniella), the almond moth (Ephestia cautella) and the Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella), infest food products all over the world and cause severe problems in factories, shops and households. For health and environmentalreasons chemical control becomes more and more restricted. We here present some promising results offering efficient detection and control of these species based on semiochemicals, and line up a number of remaining questions to be answered in order to improve the reliability and competitiveness of the methods used. For P. interpunctella and E. cautella we found that more complex pheromone blends were superior to the commercially available one-component blend in attracting males, andshould be used if increased sensitivity is desired. The almond moth, males as well as females, can be trapped in buckets with tap water, which will give an estimate of the population level without use of pheromone traps. All three species show positive response to odours identified from chocolate, and this could possibly be developed further and used to determine relative population densities. For population suppression the pheromone-mediated mating disruption technique was employed inlocalities with infestations of all three species. Based on several indirect methods to estimate the population densities we conclude that this technique has a large potential for controlling all three mothspecies.

  • 1996
  • Ingår i: Physical Review B. Condensed Matter and Materials Physics. - 1098-0121 .- 1550-235X. ; 54:3, s. 1833-1840
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The electronic structure of molecular-beam-epitaxy-grown InAs((111) over bar)2x2 and InSb((111) over bar)2x2 surfaces is investigated by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy. Valence band spectra, and dispersions of five surface-related structures, are presented. The qualitative similarities of data from the two surfaces indicate that they are very similar, with respect to atomic and electronic structure. Comparisons with other (111) surfaces support the identification of the surface-related structures.

  • Surface atomic structure of InAs((111)over-bar)2x2 and InSb((111)over-bar)2x2 studied by core level spectroscopy
  • 1996
  • Ingår i: Surface Science. - : Elsevier BV. - 0039-6028 .- 1879-2758. ; 347:1-2, s. 199-206
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Surface sensitive high resolution core level spectroscopy has been applied to the molecular beam epitaxy grown InAs((111) over bar)2 x 2 and InSb((111) over bar)2 x 2 surfaces. For both systems the In 4d core level consists of one dominating component while the Group V core levels are deconvoluted into four components. This analysis is consistent with a surface model where the topmost layer consists entirely of arsenic or antimony. In this model, Group V atoms form trimers bound to Group V atoms in the first double layer, leaving a single Group V rest atom per unit cell.

  • The electronic structure of In- and As-terminated InAs(001) surfaces
  • 1997
  • Ingår i: Surface Science. - 0039-6028 .- 1879-2758. ; 374:1-3, s. 73-79
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The InAs(001) 2 x 4 and 4 x 2 surfaces have been investigated by angle-resolved photoemission. The X(3) and X(5) points were found to be located 6.0 and 2.7 eV below the valence band maximum, respectively, and the dispersion of bulk bands along the Gamma-X direction in the bulk Brillouin zone were well described by a theoretical calculation. From angle-resolved valence band spectra measured along the high symmetry directions [110] and [1(1) over bar0$], three surface induced stares were identified on both the InAs(001)4 x 2 and the InAs(001)2 x 4 surface. • 3D CITY MODELS for SUPPORTING SIMULATIONS in CITY DENSIFICATIONS
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: ; , s. 73-77
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In order to meet the increasing needs of housing and services in urban areas, cities are densified. When densifying a city, it is important to provide good living conditions while maintaining a low environmental impact. To ensure this, the urban planning process should include simulations of e.g. noise and daylight conditions. In this paper we describe a newly started projected directed towards the need for quality-assured and harmonised input data to the simulations, in the form of 3D city models. The first part of the paper includes the background and research questions of the project and in the second part a tool for daylight simulations on neighbourhood level is introduced, a tool that will be utilized for evaluating the 3D city model design.

  • RECONCILING CITY MODELS with BIM in KNOWLEDGE GRAPHS : A FEASIBILITY STUDY of DATA INTEGRATION for SOLAR ENERGY SIMULATION
  • 2020. - 4/W1
  • Ingår i: ISPRS Annals of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences. - 2194-9042. ; 6, s. 93-99
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Solar energy simulations are used to quantify the potential of the passive use (daylight, solar gains) and the active use (photovoltaics and solar thermal) of solar energy. The simulations can be performed at different scales e.g. buildings, neighbourhoods and cities, with different requirements on the data. For example, for the neighbourhood simulations we need simplified building geometries that can be retrieved from city models, and window information that can be extracted from BIM models (as in many cases window information is missing in city models). In this context, city models and BIM need to be integrated and reconciled. In this paper, we investigate two approaches to integrate and retrieve such information in a case study, where the BIM data is stored in IFC and the city model in CityGML (LOD2). The first approach is to perform a schema matching in an ETL tool, so as to convert and import window information from the IFC file into the CityGML model to create a LOD2-3 building model. We also investigate an alternative avenue, namely a semantic web approach, in which both the BIM and city models are transformed into knowledge graphs (linked data). City models and BIM utilize their respective but interlinked domain ontologies. Particularly, two ontologies are investigated for BIM data, i.e., the ifcOWL ontology and the building topology ontology (BOT). This paper compares different paths of such integrative data retrieval, as well as discloses the gaps mainly with the semantic web approach to further unlock its potential.

  • Immunoreactive trypsin(Ogen) in the sera of children with recent-onset insulin-dependent diabetes and matched controls
  • 1990
  • Ingår i: Pancreas. - : Ovid Technologies (Wolters Kluwer Health). - 0885-3177. ; 5:3, s. 241-247
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • To evaluate the exocrine pancreatic function at the time of diagnosis of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, we determined immunoreactive an-odal and cathodal trypsin(ogen) levels in sera from almost all children (n = 375) 0-14 years of age in Sweden in whom diabetes developed during 1 year, and in sex-, age-, and geographically matched control subjects (n = 312). The median level of anodal trypsin(ogen) was 5 (quartile range, 3-7) µg/L in children with newly diagnosed diabetes, compared with a median level of 7 (quartile range, 4-8) µg/L in control subjects (p < 0.0001). Similarly, the median level of cathodal trypsin(ogen) was 8 (quartile range, 4-10) µg/L in children with diabetes, compared with a median level of 11 (quartile range, 7-15) µg/L in control subjects (p < 0.0001). The median of the individual ratios between cathodal and anodal trypsin(ogen) was 1.4 in the diabetic patients and 1.7 in the control children (p < 0.001). In a multivariate test, however, only the decrease in cathodal trypsin(ogen) concentration was associated with diabetes. The levels of trypsin(ogen)s did not correlate with levels of islet cell antibodies, present in 81% of the diabetic children. Several mechanisms may explain our findings, for example, similar pathogenetic factors may affect both the endocrine and exocrine pancreas simultaneously, a failing local trophic stimulation by insulin on the exocrine cells may decrease the trypsinogen production, and there may be an increased elimination of trypsin(ogen) because of higher filtration through the kidneys in the hyperglycemic state.
