  • Pressure and temperature dependence of GaN/AlGaN high electron mobility transistor based sensors on a sapphire membrane
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Physica Status Solidi (C) Current Topics in Solid State Physics. - : Wiley. - 1862-6351. ; 9, s. 960-963
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper reports a high pressure sensor based on a GaN/AlGaN High Electron Mobility Transistor (HEMT) that uses its 375 mm thick sapphire substrate to provide a robust base and enables device operation up to at least 60 bar (6 MPa). Transduction of changes in ambient pressure occurs via piezoelectric and pyroelectric effects on the channel conductance. The HEMTs were strategically placed along an 8 mm 2 GaN/AlGaN/GaN/sapphire chip; where the central 4 mm diameter behaves as a pressure sensitive 'drumskin'. The location of peak response lies in the HEMT at the geometric centre of the drumskin, demonstrated by the change in I DS when the pressure was increased from 0 to 60 bar. The response of six strategically placed HEMTs along the chip's surface, were compared to a finite element model to predict sensor behaviour. © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.

  • Facial mimicry, facial emotion recognition and alexithymia in post-traumatic stress disorder
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Behaviour Research and Therapy. - : Elsevier Ltd. - 0005-7967 .- 1873-622X. ; 122
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) show abnormalities in higher-order emotional processes, including emotion regulation and recognition. However, automatic facial responses to observed facial emotion (facial mimicry) has not yet been investigated in PTSD. Furthermore, whereas deficits in facial emotion recognition have been reported, little is known about contributing factors. We thus investigated facial mimicry and potential effects of alexithymia and expressive suppression on facial emotion recognition in PTSD. Thirty-eight PTSD participants, 43 traumatized and 33 non-traumatized healthy controls completed questionnaires assessing alexithymia and expressive suppression. Facial electromyography was measured from the muscles zygomaticus major and corrugator supercilii during a facial emotion recognition task. Corrugator activity was increased in response to negative emotional expressions compared to zygomaticus activity and vice versa for positive emotions, but no significant group differences emerged. Individuals with PTSD reported greater expressive suppression and alexithymia than controls, but only levels of alexithymia predicted lower recognition of negative facial expressions. While automatic facial responses to observed facial emotion seem to be intact in PTSD, alexithymia, but not expressive suppression, plays an important role in facial emotion recognition of negative emotions. If replicated, future research should evaluate whether successful interventions for alexithymia improve facial emotion recognition abilities. © 2019 Elsevier Ltd

  • THE ASSESSMENT OF RADIONUCLIDE DISTRIBUTION IN SILEX BY AUTORADIOGRAPHY IN THE CONTEXT OF DOSE RATE DETERMINATION FOR THERMOLUMINESCENCE DATING
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Archaeometry. - : Wiley. - 0003-813X .- 1475-4754. ; 55, s. 407-422
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A combination of two autoradiography methods was applied to investigate the radionuclide distribution patterns in a range of different silices. We obtained greyscale images (-radiation) and -track patterns for qualitative assessment, and used a statistical approach to quantify the degree of uniformity of the radiation fields. It was found that almost all samples are poor in potassium, thorium and uranium, and that locally high concentrations are present only in dark-coloured veins and inclusions. Statistical analyses reveal evidence of radionuclide clustering in more than half of the 21 specimens. Concerning thermoluminescence dating of burnt lithics, such gradients should be taken into account to improve precision and accuracy in cases where the external radiation is not strongly dominating for the sample under consideration.
