  • Projektledning
  • 2013

  • Codex and Code : Aestethcis, Language and Politics in an Age of Digital Media, NORLIT 2009, Stockholm, August 6-9, 2009
  • 2010
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The conference Codex and Code: Aesthetics, Language and Politics in an Age of Digital Media (NorLit 2009)was held at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, August 6–9, 2009. The conference was organized by the Nordic Association for Comparative Literature (NorLit); the Department of Culture and Communication, Linköping University; the School of Computer Science and Communication, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH); the Department of Comparative Literature, Stockholm University; the Department of Culture and Communication, Södertörn University College; and the Department of Comparative Literature, Uppsala University.    The aim of the conference was to develop the study of Comparative Literature through Nordic collaboration both in its own discipline and in Modern Language and Cultural studies. As the title for the conference suggests, the principal question for the conference was the challenge that the study of literature encounters in an age of digitalization and globalization. It was our aim to encourage discussion of how literary studies respond to the ongoing changes in media and technology, politics and economy. Many have argued that the Humanities currently are in a state of crisis. We believe that the discipline seldom has found itself in such an interesting and fruitful historical moment. Several of these questions have surfaced during earlier media system changes, in particular during Romanticism and Modernism, which provided the conference with an historical frame. The conference Codex and Code also addressed questions of authenticity and originality, identity and gender, literary genres and reading practices, media and materiality, culture and popular culture, language and history, world literature, work aesthetics, translations, and canon formation.    The conference Codex and Code wanted to stimulate interdisciplinary scholarly research of the literary in a broad sense. The conference was open to scholars in Comparative Literature and in Classical and Modern Languages, Aesthetics, Media and Communication studies, Film and Theatre studies, Philosophy and adjacent disciplines. The conference was organized around a number of thematic sessions in which researchers and scholars presented and discussed papers.    The conference has received generous financial support from the Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation, Magnus Bergwall foundation, Granholms foundation, Linköping University, School of Computer Science and Communication, Royal Institute of Technology, Svenska litteratursällskapet; the Swedish Academy, Swedish Science Council, and Vitterhetsakademien.

  • Ion-optical design of CRYRING@ESR
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Physica Scripta. - 0031-8949 .- 1402-4896. ; T166
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In 2012 the CRYRING storage ring was delivered from Stockholm to Darmstadt as a part of the Swedish in-kind contribution to the FAIR project. The ring lattice has been slightly changed for optimal injection and to provide additional space for experiment equipment. For the injection from the experimental storage ring (ESR), a new transfer line has been designed. The local injector line has been significantly modified compared to the previous one in Stockholm taking into account the geometry of the existing GSI building. In this paper we present the ion-optical properties of CRYRING@ESR after the described modifications. Single-turn injection from the ESR and multi-turn injection from the local injector are discussed. Ion-optical calculations of fast and slow extraction from CRYRING are also presented. The closed orbit correction scheme is considered taking into account the future arrangement of the beam position monitors and correction magnets. Based on the results of the calculations the requirements for the magnet alignment are finally discussed.

  • Outcomes at 3 years posttransplant in imlifidase-desensitized kidney transplant patients
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: American Journal of Transplantation. - : Elsevier. - 1600-6135 .- 1600-6143. ; 21:12, s. 3907-3918
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Imlifidase is a cysteine proteinase which specifically cleaves IgG, inhibiting Fc-mediated effector function within hours of administration. Imlifidase converts a positive crossmatch to a potential donor (T cell, B cell, or both), to negative, enabling transplantation to occur between previously HLA incompatible donor-recipient pairs. To date, 39 crossmatch positive patients received imlifidase prior to a kidney transplant in four single-arm, open-label, phase 2 studies. At 3 years, for patients who were AMR+ compared to AMR-, death-censored allograft survival was 93% vs 77%, patient survival was 85% vs 94%, and mean eGFR was 49 ml/min/1.73 m2 vs 61 ml/min/1.73 m2 , respectively. The incidence of AMR was 38% with most episodes occurring within the first month post-transplantation. Sub-analysis of patients deemed highly sensitized with cPRA ≥ 99.9%, and unlikely to be transplanted who received crossmatch-positive, deceased donor transplants had similar rates of patient survival, graft survival, and eGFR but a higher rate of AMR. These data demonstrate that outcomes and safety up to 3 years in recipients of imlifidase-enabled allografts is comparable to outcomes in other highly sensitized patients undergoing HLA-incompatible transplantation. Thus, imlifidase is a potent option to facilitate transplantation among patients who have a significant immunologic barrier to successful kidney transplantation.

  • Skulptur i folkhemmet : Den offentliga skulpturens institutionalisering, referentialitet och rumsliga situationer 1940-1975
  • 2007
  • Doktorsavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This thesis focuses on public sculpture in Sweden 1940–1975. The principal aim is to present a representative picture of the phenomenon of public sculpture and to analyse its institutional prerequisites and meaning production, as well as examine how it operates in public space. From this point of departure, three fields of interest evolve: the ideological implications of public sculpture, public sculpture’s position in art history writing, and the notion of sculpture itself. The first chapter concerns the institutionalisation of public sculpture in the welfare state. The institutionalisation started as a taking over of bourgeois idealistisc cultural ideas. Complemented by demands for social reforms directed towards the artists as well as an agenda for cultural democracy concerning the public, this art ideology could be incorporated in the discourse of the welfare state. However, this process turned out to be a highly gendered power structure, as the practice of public sculpture became a male monopoly. The second chapter analyses the referentiality of public sculpture. An important issue is that the established notion of sculpture, defining modernist sculpture as the counterpoint of the traditional monument, is in need of critical revision. This argument is evolved throughout a discusison of the main tropes of public sculpture. The analyses in this chapter clearly show that ideology was invested in practice and meaning production as well as in the historiography of public sculpture. Conventional notions of gender and gender dichotomy as well as modernist art ideals have played important roles in this ideology. The third chapter discusses the importance of the spatial situation for the meaning production of sculpture. The analyses make clear that the relation between a sculpture and its spatial context is of an ambivalent character, as physical, social, and cultural aspects of site are of crucial importance to the interpretation of public sculpture.

  • A whole-body diffusion MRI normal atlas : development, evaluation and initial use
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Cancer Imaging. - : BioMed Central (BMC). - 1740-5025 .- 1470-7330. ; 23:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Statistical atlases can provide population-based descriptions of healthy volunteers and/or patients and can be used for region- and voxel-based analysis. This work aims to develop whole-body diffusion atlases of healthy volunteers scanned at 1.5T and 3T. Further aims include evaluating the atlases by establishing whole-body Apparent Diffusion Coefficient (ADC) values of healthy tissues and including healthy tissue deviations in an automated tumour segmentation task. Methods: Multi-station whole-body Diffusion Weighted Imaging (DWI) and water-fat Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of healthy volunteers (n = 45) were acquired at 1.5T (n = 38) and/or 3T (n = 29), with test-retest imaging for five subjects per scanner. Using deformable image registration, whole-body MRI data was registered and composed into normal atlases. Healthy tissue ADCmean was manually measured for ten tissues, with test-retest percentage Repeatability Coefficient (%RC), and effect of age, sex and scanner assessed. Voxel-wise whole-body analyses using the normal atlases were studied with ADC correlation analyses and an automated tumour segmentation task. For the latter, lymphoma patient MRI scans (n = 40) with and without information about healthy tissue deviations were entered into a 3D U-Net architecture. Results: Sex- and Body Mass Index (BMI)-stratified whole-body high b-value DWI and ADC normal atlases were created at 1.5T and 3T. %RC of healthy tissue ADCmean varied depending on tissue assessed (4-48% at 1.5T, 6-70% at 3T). Scanner differences in ADCmean were visualised in Bland-Altman analyses of dually scanned subjects. Sex differences were measurable for liver, muscle and bone at 1.5T, and muscle at 3T. Volume of Interest (VOI)-based multiple linear regression, and voxel-based correlations in normal atlas space, showed that age and ADC were negatively associated for liver and bone at 1.5T, and positively associated with brain tissue at 1.5T and 3T. Adding voxel-wise information about healthy tissue deviations in an automated tumour segmentation task gave numerical improvements in the segmentation metrics Dice score, sensitivity and precision. Conclusions: Whole-body DWI and ADC normal atlases were created at 1.5T and 3T, and applied in whole-body voxel-wise analyses.
