  • The Sixth Visual Object Tracking VOT2018 Challenge Results
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Computer Vision – ECCV 2018 Workshops. - Cham : Springer Publishing Company. - 9783030110086 - 9783030110093 ; , s. 3-53
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking challenge VOT2018 is the sixth annual tracker benchmarking activity organized by the VOT initiative. Results of over eighty trackers are presented; many are state-of-the-art trackers published at major computer vision conferences or in journals in the recent years. The evaluation included the standard VOT and other popular methodologies for short-term tracking analysis and a “real-time” experiment simulating a situation where a tracker processes images as if provided by a continuously running sensor. A long-term tracking subchallenge has been introduced to the set of standard VOT sub-challenges. The new subchallenge focuses on long-term tracking properties, namely coping with target disappearance and reappearance. A new dataset has been compiled and a performance evaluation methodology that focuses on long-term tracking capabilities has been adopted. The VOT toolkit has been updated to support both standard short-term and the new long-term tracking subchallenges. Performance of the tested trackers typically by far exceeds standard baselines. The source code for most of the trackers is publicly available from the VOT page. The dataset, the evaluation kit and the results are publicly available at the challenge website (http://votchallenge.net).

  • Strain in Copper/Ceria Heterostructure Promotes Electrosynthesis of Multicarbon Products
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: ACS Nano. - : American Chemical Society. - 1936-0851 .- 1936-086X. ; 17:1, s. 346-354
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Elastic strains in metallic catalysts induce enhanced selectivity for carbon dioxide reduction (CO2R) toward valuable multicarbon (C2+) products. However, under working conditions, the structure of catalysts inevitably undergoes reconstruction, hardly retaining the initial strain. Herein, we present a metal/metal oxide synthetic strategy to introduce and maintain the tensile strain in a copper/ceria heterostructure, enabled by the presence of a thin interface layer of Cu2O/CeO2. The tensile strain in the copper domain and deficient electron environment around interfacial Cu sites resulted in strengthened adsorption of carbonaceous intermediates and promoted*CO dimerization. The strain effect in the copper/ceria heterostructure leads to an improved C2+ selectivity with a maximum Faradaic efficiency of 76.4% and a half-cell power conversion efficiency of 49.1%. The fundamental insights gained from this system can facilitate the rational design of heterostructure catalysts for CO2R.

  • Asymmetric oxidation of sulfides with hydrogen peroxide catalyzed by a vanadium complex of a new chiral NOO-ligand
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Catalysis communications. - : Elsevier BV. - 1566-7367 .- 1873-3905. ; 11:4, s. 294-297
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A new chiral NOO-tridentate ligand (8R)-2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-4-methyl-5,6,7.8-tetrahydro-quinolin-8-ol (1) bearing a rigid tetrahydroquinoline framework was prepared and applied in the vanadium-catalyzed asymmetric oxidation of aryl methyl sulfides with H2O2 as oxidant. Less toxic acetone was found to be the proper solvent for the enantioselective oxidation of sulfides. Under the optimal condition, the asymmetric oxidation of aryl methyl sulfides in acetone catalyzed by VO(acac)(2)/1 at 0 degrees C gives good to high yields (80-95%) of sulfoxides with enantioselectivity up to 77% ee.

  • The prevalence of adverse reactions among individuals with three-dose COVID-19 vaccination
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of Infection and Public Health. - : Elsevier BV. - 1876-0341. ; 16:1, s. 125-132
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Considering the adverse reactions to vaccination against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), some people, particularly the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions, are hesitant to be vaccinated. This study aimed to explore the prevalence of adverse reactions and provide direct evidence of vaccine safety, mainly for the elderly and people with underlying medical conditions, to receive COVID-19 vaccination. Methods: From 1st March to 30th April 2022, we conducted an online survey of people who had completed three doses of COVID-19 vaccination by convenience sampling. Adverse reaction rates and 95% confidence intervals were calculated. In addition, conditional logistic regression was used to compare the differences in adverse reactions among the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions with the general population. Results: A total of 3339 individuals were included in this study, of which 2335 (69.9%) were female, with an average age of 32.1 ± 11.4 years. The prevalence of adverse reactions after the first dose of inactivated vaccine was 24.6% (23.1–26.2%), 19.2% (17.8–20.7%) for the second dose, and 19.1% (17.7–20.6%) for the booster dose; among individuals using messenger RNA vaccines, the prevalence was 42.7% (32.3–53.6%) for the first dose, 47.2% (36.5–58.1%) for the second dose, and 46.1% (35.4–57.0%) for the booster dose. Compared with the general population, the prevalence of adverse events did not differ in individuals with underlying medical conditions and those aged 60 and above. Conclusions: For individuals with underlying medical conditions and those aged 60 and above, the prevalence of adverse reactions is similar to that of the general population, which provides a scientific basis regarding vaccination safety for these populations.

  • Asymmetric oxidation of sulfides catalyzed by vanadium(IV) complexes of dibromo- and diiodo-functionalized chiral Schiff bases
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Cuihuà xuébào. - 0253-9837 .- 1872-2067. ; 27:8, s. 743-748
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The catalyst system of VO(acac)(2) and Schiff base ligands derived from 3,5-dibromo- or 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde and inexpensive chiral amino alcohols was prepared. This catalyst displayed good yields and moderate to high enantioselectivity for the asymmetric oxidation of aryl methyl sulfides at room temperature when 1% catalyst (VO(acac)(2)/ligand molar ratio of 1: 2) and H2O2 Oxidant were used. The ligands derived from ( S)valinol exhibited considerably higher enantioselectivity than those ligands derived from ( S)-phenylalaninol and (R)-leucinol. The enantiomeric excess values were improved up to 88% for methyl phenyl sulfoxide and 92% for methyl p-bromophenyl sulfoxide by slow dropwise addition of H2O2 with the ligand prepared from 3 15-diiodosalicylaldehyde and (s)-valinol. The present study showed that the catalytic efficiency of VO(acac)(2) /Schiff base systems could not be improved by the addition of carboxylic acids or carboxylate salts.

  • Influence of substituents in the salicylaldehyde-derived Schiff bases on vanadium-catalyzed asymmetric oxidation of sulfides
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Applied organometallic chemistry. - : Wiley. - 0268-2605 .- 1099-0739. ; 22:5, s. 253-257
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A series of chiral Schiff bases (L-1-L-5) with different substituents in the salicylidenyl unit were prepared from condensation of 3-aryl-5-tert-butylsalicylaldehyde derivatives and optically active amino alcohols. Bromination of 3-phenyl-5-tert-butylsalicylaldehyde gave an unexpected product 3-(4-bromophenyl)-5-bromosalicylaldehyde, from which the corresponding Schiff base ligands L-6 and L-7, derived from (S)-valinol and (S)-tert-leucinol, respectively, were prepared. Ligands L-1-L-7 were applied to the vanadium-catalyzed asymmetric oxidation of aryl methyl sulfides. Under the optimal conditions, the oxidation of the thioanisole with H2O2 as oxidant in CH2Cl2 catalyzed by VO(acac)(2)-L-1-L-7 gives good yields (74-83%) with moderate enantioselectivity (58-77% ee). Ligand L-7, containing a 4-bromophenyl group on the 3-position and a Br atom on the 5-position of the salicylidenyl moiety, displays an 80-90% ee for vanadium-catalyzed oxidation of methyl 4-bromophenyl sulfide and methyl 2-naphthyl sulfide.

  • Simultaneously Improved Efficiency and Stability in All-Polymer Solar Cells by a P-i-N Architecture
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: ACS Energy Letters. - : AMER CHEMICAL SOC. - 2380-8195. ; 4:9, s. 2277-2286
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • All-polymer organic solar cells offer exceptional stability. Unfortunately, the use of bulk heterojunction (BHJ) structure has the intrinsic challenge to control the side-chain entanglement and backbone orientation to achieve sophisticated phase separation in all-polymer blends. Here, we revealed that the P-i-N structure can outperform the BHJ ones with a nearly 50% efficiency improvement, reaching a power conversion efficiency approaching 10%. This P-i-N structure can also provide an enhanced internal electric field and remarkably stable morphology Sequential deposition under harsh thermal stress. We have further demonstrated generality of the P-i-N structure in several other all-polymer systems. Considering the adjustable polymer molecular weight and solubility, the P-i-N device structure can be more beneficial for all-polymer systems. With the design of more crystalline polymers, the antiquated P-i-N structure can further show its strength in all-polymer systems by simplified morphology control and improved carrier extraction, becoming a more favorite device structure than the dominant BHJ structure.

  • Venice: Exploring Server Architectures for Effective Resource Sharing
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Proceedings - International Symposium on High-Performance Computer Architecture. - 1530-0897. - 9781467392112 ; 2016-April, s. 507-518
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Consolidated server racks are quickly becoming the backbone of IT infrastructure for science, engineering, and business, alike. These servers are still largely built and organized as when they were distributed, individual entities. Given that many fields increasingly rely on analytics of huge datasets, it makes sense to support flexible resource utilization across servers to improve cost-effectiveness and performance. We introduce Venice, a family of data-center server architectures that builds a strong communication substrate as a first-class resource for server chips. Venice provides a diverse set of resource-joining mechanisms that enables user programs to efficiently leverage non-local resources. To better understand the implications of design decisionsabout system support for resource sharing we have constructed a hardware prototype that allows us to more accurately measure end-to-end performance of at-scale applications and to explore tradeoffs among performance, power, and resource-sharing transparency. We present results from our initial studies analyzing these tradeoffs when sharing memory, accelerators, or NICs. We find that it is particularly important to reduce or hide latency, that data-sharing access patterns should match the features of the communication channels employed, and that inter-channel collaboration can be exploited for better performance.

  • International Asteroid Warning Network Timing Campaign: 2019 XS
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: The Planetary Science Journal. - : Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP). - 2632-3338. ; 3:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As part of the International Asteroid Warning Network's observational exercises, we conducted a campaign to observe near-Earth asteroid 2019 XS around its close approach to Earth on 2021 November 9. The goal of the campaign was to characterize errors in the observation times reported to the Minor Planet Center, which become an increasingly important consideration as astrometric accuracy improves and more fast-moving asteroids are observed. As part of the exercise, a total of 957 astrometric observations of 2019 XS during the encounter were reported and subsequently were analyzed to obtain the corresponding residuals. While the timing errors are typically smaller than 1 s, the reported times appear to be negatively biased, i.e., they are generally earlier than they should be. We also compared the observer-provided position uncertainty with the cross-track residuals, which are independent of timing errors. A large fraction of the estimated uncertainties appear to be optimistic, especially when <0 2. We compiled individual reports for each observer to help identify and remove the root cause of any possible timing error and improve the uncertainty quantification process. We suggest possible sources of timing errors and describe a simple procedure to derive reliable, conservative position uncertainties.
