  • High performance transition metal oxide composite cathode for low temperature solid oxide fuel cells
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Journal of Power Sources. - : Elsevier BV. - 0378-7753 .- 1873-2755. ; 203:1, s. 65-71
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Low temperature solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) with metal oxide composite cathode on the ceria–carbonate composite electrolyte have shown promising performance. However, the role of individual elements or compound is seldom investigated. We report here the effect of the ZnO on the physico-chemical and electrochemical properties of lithiated NiO cathode. The materials and single cells are characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, DC polarization electrical conductivity, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and fuel cell performance. The ZnO modified lithiated NiO composite materials exhibit smaller particle size and lower electrical conductivity than lithiated NiO. However, improved electro-catalytic oxygen reduction activity and power output are achieved after the ZnO modification. A maximum power density of 808 mW cm−2 and the corresponding interfacial polarization resistance of 0.22 Ω cm2 are obtained at 550 °C using ZnO modified cathode and 300 μm thick composite electrolyte. The single cell keeps reasonable stability over 300 min at 500 °C. Thus, ZnO modified lithiated NiO is a promising cathode candidate for low temperature SOFCs.

  • High-Performance Biodegradable Energy Storage Devices Enabled by Heterostructured MoO3-MoS2 Composites
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Small. - : Wiley-VCH Verlagsgesellschaft. - 1613-6810 .- 1613-6829. ; 19:10
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Biodegradable implantable devices are of growing interest in biosensors and bioelectronics. One of the key unresolved challenges is the availability of power supply. To enable biodegradable energy-storage devices, herein, 2D heterostructured MoO3–MoS2 nanosheet arrays are synthesized on water-soluble Mo foil, showing a high areal capacitance of 164.38 mF cm−2 (at 0.5 mA cm−2). Employing the MoO3–MoS2 composite as electrodes of a symmetric supercapacitor, an asymmetric Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitor, and an Mg primary battery are demonstrated. Benefiting from the advantages of MoO3–MoS2 heterostructure, the Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors deliver a high areal capacitance (181.86 mF cm−2 at 0.5 mA cm−2) and energy density (30.56 µWh cm−2), and the Mg primary batteries provide a stable high output voltage (≈1.6 V) and a long working life in air/liquid environment. All of the used materials exhibit desirable biocompatibility, and these fabricated devices are also fully biodegradable. Demonstration experiments display their potential applications as biodegradable power sources for various electronic devices.

  • A human-robot collaboration system towards high accuracy
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Procedia CIRP. - : Elsevier B.V.. - 2212-8271. ; , s. 1085-1090
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The next generation of manufacturing system calls for feasible solutions with high efficiency and flexibility. Thus in recent years, Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) research attracts many attentions worldwide since it unites the repeatability and accuracy of robots and the adaptivity and intelligence of human operators. In this paper, the system architecture of an HRC solution is presented, together with the novel method of vision sensing and controlling towards a smart solution with high accuracy and fast speed. The proposed method is demonstrated through implementations in the real robot cell, and evaluated by quantifiable measurements. Future research outlooks are addressed at the end of the paper.

  • Light-Induced Redox Looping of a Rhodium/CexWO3 Photocatalyst for Highly Active and Robust Dry Reforming of Methane
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Angewandte Chemie International Edition. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 1433-7851 .- 1521-3773. ; 61:21
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Dry reforming of methane (DRM) has provided an effective avenue to convert two greenhouse gases, CH4 and CO2, into syngas. Here, we design a DRM photocatalyst Rh/CexWO3 that invokes both photothermal and photoelectric processes, which overcomes the thermodynamic limitation of DRM under conventional conditions. In contrast to plasmonic or UV-response photocatalysts, our photocatalyst produces a superior light-to-chemical energy efficiency (LTCEE) of 4.65 % with a moderate light intensity. We propose that a light-induced metal-to-metal charge transfer plays a crucial role in the DRM reaction, which induces a redox looping between Ce to W species to lower the activation energy. Quantum mechanical studies reveal that a high oxygen mobility of CexWO3, accompanied with the formation of oxo-bridge species, results in a substantial elimination of deposited C species during the reaction. Our catalyst design strategy could offer a promising energy-efficient industrial process for DRM.
