  • A Facile and Green Method for the Synthesis of SFE Borosilicate Zeolite and Its Heteroatom-Substituted Analogues with Promising Catalytic Performances
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Chemistry - A European Journal. - : Wiley. - 0947-6539 .- 1521-3765. ; 24:2, s. 306-311
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Synthesis of SFE-type borosilcate zeolite was successfully carried out using a commercially available low-cost organic structure directing agent (OSDA) with ultra-low OSDA and water contents within a short crystallization time. Heteroatom (Al, Ti, V, or Fe)-substituted SFE-type zeolite analogues were also directly synthesized for the first time. The obtained Al containing zeolites exhibited promising catalytic performances in the disproportion-ation of isopropylnaphthalene.

  • Scalable Synthesis of Photoluminescent Single-Chain Nanoparticles by Electrostatic-Mediated Intramolecular Crosslinking
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Angewandte Chemie International Edition. - : Wiley. - 1433-7851 .- 1521-3773. ; 61:27
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report the large-scale synthesis of photoluminescent single-chain nanoparticles (SCNPs) by electrostatic-mediated intramolecular crosslinking in a concentrated solution of 40 mg mL−1 by continuous addition of the free radical initiator. Poly(vinyl benzyl chloride) was charged by quaternization with vinyl-imidazolium for the intramolecular crosslinking by using 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (DMAP) as the radical initiator. Under the electrostatic repulsion thus interchain isolation, the intrachain crosslinking experiences the transition from coil through pearl-necklace to globular state. The SCNPs demonstrate strong photoluminescence in the visible range when the non-emissive units are confined thereby. Composition and microstructure of the SCNPs are tunable. The photoluminescent tadpole-like Janus SCNP can be used to selectively illuminate interfacial membranes while stabilizing the emulsions.

  • Asymmetric patterns and temporal changes in phenology-based seasonal gross carbon uptake of global terrestrial ecosystems
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Global Ecology and Biogeography. - : Wiley. - 1466-822X .- 1466-8238. ; 29:6, s. 1020-1033
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim: To study global patterns and temporal changes in the seasonal dynamics (quantity and seasonal distribution) of terrestrial gross carbon uptake in response to global environmental change. Location: Global. Time period: 2000–2016. Major taxa studied: Terrestrial ecosystems. Methods: Following a phenology-based definition of photosynthetic seasonality, we decompose gross primary production (GPP) into three periods, green-up, maturity and senescence, and derive their corresponding GPP (GPPgp, GPPmp and GPPsp, respectively) from a newly developed time series of satellite-based global GPP to study spatio-temporal dynamics of seasonal GPP. Results: We find that the global fraction of GPPsp (19.8%) is larger than GPPgp (14.3%), indicating a globally asymmetric seasonal distribution of gross carbon uptake by terrestrial ecosystems. Globally, GPPmp plays a dominant role in shaping spatial patterns and increasing/decreasing trends in GPP, while GPPgp/GPPsp contributes to increasing GPP at the regional scale. Higher fractions of GPPgp/GPPmp (lower of GPPsp), as well as the co-occurrence of increasing GPP and non-tree vegetation cover in major croplands, are likely to be caused by agricultural intensification. Global changes in GPPgp and GPPsp are closely related to changes in their seasonal distributions (R =.86/.8, respectively), whereas this relationship is weaker for GPPmp (R =.53). Finally, high correlations are observed between changes in GPPgp and GPPsp and changes in their durations (R =.78/.78, respectively), while GPPmp shows a relatively lower correlation with its duration (R =.67). Main conclusions: The asymmetric spatio-temporal patterns in the seasonal dynamics of global terrestrial gross carbon uptake found here have been substantially reshaped by anthropogenic land-use/cover changes and changes in photosynthetic phenology. Compared to calendar-based meteorological seasons more suitable for temperate/subpolar ecosystems, our phenology-based approach is expected to provide an alternative starting point for a better understanding of global spatio-temporal changes in the seasonal dynamics of terrestrial ecosystem processes and functioning under accelerating global change.

  • Parallel Multigrid for Nonlinear Cloth Simulation
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Computer Graphics Forum. - : Wiley. - 1467-8659 .- 0167-7055. ; 37:7, s. 131-141
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Accurate high-resolution simulation of cloth is a highly desired computational tool in graphics applications. As single-resolution simulation starts to reach the limit of computational power, we believe the future of cloth simulation is in multi-resolution simulation. In this paper, we explore nonlinearity, adaptive smoothing, and parallelization under a full multigrid (FMG) framework. The foundation of this research is a novel nonlinear FMG method for unstructured meshes. To introduce nonlinearity into FMG, we propose to formulate the smoothing process at each resolution level as the computation of a search direction for the original high-resolution nonlinear optimization problem. We prove that our nonlinear FMG is guaranteed to converge under various conditions and we investigate the improvements to its performance. We present an adaptive smoother which is used to reduce the computational cost in the regions with low residuals already. Compared to normal iterative solvers, our nonlinear FMG method provides faster convergence and better performance for both Newton's method and Projective Dynamics. Our experiment shows our method is efficient, accurate, stable against large time steps, and friendly with GPU parallelization. The performance of the method has a good scalability to the mesh resolution, and the method has good potential to be combined with multi-resolution collision handling for real-time simulation in the future.

  • Monitoring and analysis of dynamic behaviour of high-speed trains in long-term service using an unattended test system
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: International Journal of COMADEM. - : COMADEM International. - 1363-7681. ; 22:3, s. 45-50
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Dynamic behaviour and its evolution are concerns for those operating high-speed trains. In this paper, a cloud server is applied to establish a connection between the vehicle-mounted equipment and users to decrease the influence of network instability. To ensure the accuracy and consistency of data transmission, MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol is used to transfer data measured from the vehicle. The paper discovers the vibration transfer characteristic and the evolution of the dynamic behaviour of several types of high-speed trains, along with wheel wear under several operation conditions, over time. The turbulence caused by high-order wheel polygonalization formed during long-term service, which cannot be weakened by the suspended system sufficiently, is harmful to the ride quality of high-speed trains. The results confirm the operational reliability of the high-speed trains in China and provide useful references for the optimisation and maintenance of high-speed trains.

  • Synthesis and Structure Determination of Large-Pore Zeolite SCM-14
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Chemistry - A European Journal. - : Wiley. - 0947-6539 .- 1521-3765. ; 23:66, s. 16829-16834
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • SCM-14 (Sinopec Composite Material No. 14), a new stable germanosilicate zeolite with a 12 x 8 x 8-ring channel system, was synthesized using commercially available 4-pyrrolidinopyridine as organic structure-directing agents (OSDAs) in fluoride medium. The framework structure of SCM-14 was determined using rotation electron diffraction (RED), and refined against synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction (SXPD) data for both as-made and calcined materials. The framework structure of SCM-14 is closely related to that of three known zeolites: mordenite (MOR), GUS-1 (GON), and IM-16 (UOS). SCM-14 has the same projection as that of mordenite and GUS-1 when viewed along the 12-ring channels, and possesses two more straight 8-ring channels running perpendicular to the 12-ring channels. The structure of SCM-14 can be constructed by either the same layers as that of GUS-1 or the same columns as that of IM-16. Based on their structural relationship, three topologically reasonable hypothetical zeolites were predicted.

  • Synthesis and Structure Determination of SCM-15 : A 3D Large Pore Zeolite with Interconnected Straight 12x12x10-Ring Channels
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Chemistry - A European Journal. - : Wiley. - 0947-6539 .- 1521-3765. ; 25:9, s. 2184-2188
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A new germanosilicate zeolite named SCM-15 (Sinopec Composite Material No. 15), the first zeolite containing a 3-dimensional (3D) channel system with interconnected 12-, 12-, and 10-ring channels (pore sizes: 6.1 x 7.2, 6.1 x 7.4, and 5.2 x 5.9 angstrom), has been synthesized using neutral 4-pyrrolidinopyridine as organic structure-directing agents (OSDAs). Its structure has been determined by combining single-crystal electron diffraction (SCED) and synchrotron powder X-ray diffraction (SPXD) data. The unique open framework structure of SCM-15 is related to that of FOS-5 (BEC), ITQ-7 (ISV), PKU-16 (POS), ITQ-26 (IWS), ITQ-21, Beta polymorph B, and SU-78B, since all these framework structures can be constructed from similar chains which are connected through shared 4-ring or double 4-ring (d4r) units. Based on this relation, six topologically reasonable 3D large or extra-large pore hypothetical zeolites are predicted.

  • An experimental study on abnormal vibration of metro trains caused by out-of-round wheels
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the Institution of mechanical engineers. Part F, journal of rail and rapid transit. - : SAGE Publications. - 0954-4097 .- 2041-3017. ; 237:2, s. 224-231
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Out-of-round (OOR) wheel often happens to trains, which can cause abnormal vibration. To develop effective countermeasures to minimize the abnormal vibration, it is necessary to study how the wheel OOR wear affects the vehicle vibration. This paper performs an experimental study on the abnormal vibration characteristics of metro trains with out-of-round wheels. The vibration characteristics is identified by the general survey of wheel roughness from special tests. The statistic wheel wear values of all the vehicles in an operating metro lines are studied to investigate the relationship between the wheel wear and the operating mileage. Several re-profiling strategies are implemented to eliminate the abnormal vibration caused by wheel OOR. The results show that the root cause of the abnormal vibration and deterioration of ride comfort is the car-body flexible resonance excited by the wheel OOR wear. Wheel re-profiling is the most effective measure for reducing the vehicle abnormal vibration. By re-profiling all the wheels of a tested metro vehicle, the ride comfort can be improved by 35% ∼ 40% and the axle-box acceleration can be reduced by 40%.
