  • Dense matter with eXTP
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy. - : Science Press. - 1674-7348 .- 1869-1927. ; 62:2
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this White Paper we present the potential of the Enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry (eXTP) mission for determining the nature of dense matter; neutron star cores host an extreme density regime which cannot be replicated in a terrestrial laboratory. The tightest statistical constraints on the dense matter equation of state will come from pulse profile modelling of accretion-powered pulsars, burst oscillation sources, and rotation-powered pulsars. Additional constraints will derive from spin measurements, burst spectra, and properties of the accretion flows in the vicinity of the neutron star. Under development by an international Consortium led by the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the eXTP mission is expected to be launched in the mid 2020s.

  • Characteristic study of a novel compact Solar Thermal Facade (STF) with internally extruded pin-fin flow channel for building integration
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Applied Energy. - : Elsevier BV. - 0306-2619 .- 1872-9118. ; 168, s. 48-64
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The fully building integrated Solar Thermal Facade (STF) systems can become potential solutions for aesthetics architectural design, as well as for the enhancement of energy efficiency and reduction of operational cost in the contemporary built environment. As a result, this article introduces a novel compact STF with internally extruded pin–fin flow channel that is particularly suitable for the building integration. A dedicated simulation model was developed on basis of the heat transfer and the flow mechanics. A prototype of this STF was fabricated and then it was tested under a series of controlled environmental conditions. The experimental validation illustrated a good agreement with the simulation results, indicating the established model was able to predict the STF’s thermal performance at a reasonable accuracy (i.e. mean deviation of less than 5.46%). The impacts of several operational parameters, i.e. equivalent solar radiation, air temperature, air velocity, water mass flow rate and inlet water temperature, on the STF thermal performance were then discussed respectively. Given the baseline testing condition, the collector efficiency factor F′ is almost 0.9930, leading to a relatively high nominal thermal efficiency at about 63.21%, which demonstrates such STF, with simpler structure, lower cost and higher feasibility in architectural design, can achieve an equivalent or better thermal performance than recent bionic STF or the conventional ones. It is also concluded that the thermal efficiency varies proportionally with solar radiation, air temperature, and mass flow rate of water, but oppositely to air velocity and inlet water temperature. A sharp decreasing trend of this STF’s thermal efficiency against the (Tin − Ta)/I was observed under the given operational conditions, which indicates current STF design is only suitable for pool heating, domestic hot water and radiant space heating in areas/climates with warm ambient air temperature and sufficient solar radiation. The overall research results are beneficial for further design, optimization and application of such STF in various solar driven systems, including the provision of hot water, space heating/cooling, increased ventilation, or even electricity in buildings. Such STF technology has the potential to boost the building energy efficiency and literally turn the envelope into an independent energy plant, creating the possibility of solar-thermal technologies deployment in high-rise buildings.

  • Design strategy of a compact unglazed solar thermal facade (STF) for building integration based on BIM concept
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Energy Procedia. - : Elsevier BV. - 1876-6102. ; 105, s. 1-6
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper discusses the specific design strategy of a novel compact unglazed Solar Thermal Facade (STF) for building performance research in architectural practice. It identifies the basic role of such STF in the building performance simulation and analysis. A dedicated design strategy based on the BIM (building information modelling) concept for application of the proposed STF is then developed in details. This research work clarifies the necessary steps in ensuring that the environmental/economic factors and energy-efficiency strategies of the STF are integrated with the building design and analysis process at the early stage.

  • STABLE TRIAXIALITY IN GERMANIUM AND SELENIUM ISOTOPES
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: NUCLEAR STRUCTURE IN CHINA 2012. - : WORLD SCIENTIFIC PUBL CO PTE LTD. ; , s. 201-206
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Total-Routhian-surface calculations by means of the pairing-deformation-frequency self-consistent cranked shell model have been carried out for germanium and selenium isotopes, in order to search for possible stable triaxial deformations of nuclear states. The triaxiality of vertical bar gamma vertical bar approximate to 30 degrees for the ground and collective rotational states, that is the limit of the maximum triaxiality, is found in Ge-64,Ge-74. The maximum triaxiality has its origin in a triaxial shell gap at Z = 32.

  • TIMP1 is a prognostic marker for the progression and metastasis of colon cancer through FAK-PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathway
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research. - London, United Kingdom : BioMed Central (BMC). - 1756-9966. ; 35:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Tissue inhibitor matrix metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP1) plays a vital role in carcinogenesis, yet its precise functional roles and regulation remain unclear. In this study, we aim to investigate its biological function and clinical significance in human colon cancer. Methods: We analyzed the expression of TIMP1 in both public database (Oncomine and TCGA) and 94 cases of primary colon cancer and matched normal colon tissue specimens. The underlying mechanisms of altered TIMP1 expression on cell tumorigenesis, proliferation, and metastasis were explored in vitro and in vivo. Results: TIMP1 was overexpressed in colon tumorous tissues and lymph node metastasis specimens than in normal tissues. The aberrant expression of TIMP1 was significantly associated with the regional lymph node metastasis (p = 0.033), distant metastasis (p = 0.039), vascular invasion (p = 0.024) and the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) stage (p = 0.026). Cox proportional hazards model showed that TIMP1 was an independent prognostic indicator of disease-free survival (HR = 2.603, 95 % CI: 1.115-6.077, p = 0.027) and overall survival (HR = 2.907, 95 % CI: 1.254-6.737, p = 0.013) for patients with colon cancer. Consistent with this, our findings highlight that suppression of TIMP1 expression decreased proliferation, and metastasis but increased apoptosis by inducing TIMP1 specific regulated FAK-PI3K/AKT and MAPK pathway. Conclusion: TIMP1 might play an important role in promoting tumorigenesis and metastasis of human colon cancer and function as a potential prognostic indicator for colon cancer.

  • Structural diversity and properties of a series of dinuclear and mononuclear copper(II) and copper(I) carboxylato complexes
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: New Journal of Chemistry. - : RSC Publishing. - 1144-0546 .- 1369-9261. ; 26:10, s. 1468-1473
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The syntheses, crystal structures, magnetic and photoluminescence properties of a series of dinuclear and mononuclear copper(II) and copper(I)N-carbazolylacetate [N-carbazolylacetic acid=Hcabo] with different carboxylato coordination modes are reported. Although the carboxylato group has different coordination modes, the same carboxylate ligand binding to copper ion via four coordinating modes is rare. The crystal structure of complex [Cu2(Cabo)4(dmf)2]·2dmf (1) consists of a symmetrical dimeric Cu(II) carboxylato paddle-wheel core and oxygen atoms from dmf at the apical positions. The dinuclear complex [Cu2(Cabo)3(phen)2]ClO4·H2O·C2H5OH (2) (phen=1,10-phenanthroline) consists of an unusual dimeric core with two copper atoms bridged by three carboxylates one of which is in the η∶η∶μ2 bridging mode and the other two are in the rarer monoatomic bridging mode. To our knowledge, the present bridging mode has not been reported hitherto. Magnetic susceptibilities were measured in the temperature range 2–300 K. It is found that paddle-wheel copper(II) ions in 1 are strongly coupled antiferromagnetically with 2J=−356.4(6) cm−1, whereas complex 2 shows weak antiferromagnetic interaction with a 2J value of −12.8(4) cm−1. Copper(I)N-carbazolylacetate with strong fluorescence in the solid state as well as high thermal stability was obtained by reduction of the copper(II)N-carbazolylacetate using PPh3(triphenylphosphine) in dmf solution.

  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Two novel two-photon polymerization initiators, 10-ethyl-3-E-(4-(N,N′-di-n-butylamino)styryl)phenothiazine 5 and 10-ethyl-3,7-E,E-bis(4-(N,N′-di-n-butyl amino)styryl)phenothiazine 6, have been efficiently synthesized with room temperature solid phase Wittig reaction. Two initiators were found to exhibit good single-photon fluorescence emission and their quantum yields, lifetimes and solvent effects have been studied in detail. Two-photon fluorescence spectra were investigated under 800 nm fs laser pulse and two-photon absorption (TPA) cross-sections of the initiators have been evaluated by theoretical calculation.Two-photon initiating polymerization microfabrication experiments have been carried out and artificial defects were made and polymerization mechanism was also discussed.

  • RBBP6 increases radioresistance and serves as a therapeutic target for preoperative radiotherapy in colorectal cancer
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Cancer Science. - : Blackwell Publishing. - 1347-9032 .- 1349-7006. ; 109:4, s. 1075-1087
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Radiotherapy (RT) can be used as preoperative treatment to downstage initially unresectable locally rectal carcinoma, but the radioresistance and recurrence remain significant problems. Retinoblastoma binding protein 6 (RBBP6) has been implicated in the regulation of cell cycle, apoptosis and chemoresistance both in vitro and in vivo. This study investigated whether the inhibition of RBBP6 expression would improve radiosensitivity in human colorectal cancer cells. After SW620 and HT29 cells were exposed to radiation, the levels of RBBP6 mRNA and protein increased over time in both two cells. Moreover, a significant reduction in clonogenic survival and a decrease in cell viability in parallel with an obvious increase in cell apoptosis were demonstrated in irradiated RBBP6-knockdown cells. Besides, transfection with RBBP6 shRNA improved levels of G2-M phase arrest which blocked the cells in a more radiosensitive period of the cell cycle. These observations indicated that cell cycle and apoptosis mechanisms may be connected with tumor cell survival following radiotherapy. In vivo, tumor growth rate of nude mice in RBBP6-knockdown group was significantly slower than that in other groups. These results indicated that RBBP6 overexpression could resist colorectal cancer cells against radiation by regulating cell cycle and apoptosis pathways, and inhibition of RBBP6 could enhance radiosensitivity of human colorectal cancer.
