  • PAHs and PCBs residues and consumption risk assessment in farmed yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) from the East China Sea, China.
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Marine pollution bulletin. - : Elsevier BV. - 1879-3363 .- 0025-326X. ; 140, s. 294-300
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) purchased from five different farming sites in Zhoushan Archipelago and Xiangshan Harbor in the East China Sea, China were analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Concentrations of PAHs and PCBs in the edible muscle of L. crocea ranged from 83.14 to 174.68ng/g wet weight (or 266.89 to 695.24ng/g dry weight) and 3.89 to 17.40ng/g wet weight (or 15.50 to 54.25ng/g dry weight), respectively. Incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) associated with the dietary intake of PAHs and PCBs in L. crocea was assessed. Results showed that levels of PAHs in L. crocea were high enough to cause potential carcinogenic risks for human consumption, while, levels of PCBs in fish samples were of low significant carcinogenic risk.

  • Mitigation of the birefringence dispersion on the polarization coupling measurement in a long-distance high-birefringence fiber
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Measurement science and technology. - : IOP Publishing. - 0957-0233 .- 1361-6501. ; 23:2, s. 025203-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Due to the birefringence dispersion, the polarization coupling parameter measurement in high-birefringence fiber decreases obviously with the fiber length, especially for long-distance fibers. In this paper, two methods for mitigating the birefringence dispersion in a long-distance fiber are proposed. The first method is a spectral-domain measurement method. The experimental setup and results are described in detail. The other method is a time-domain numerical dispersion compensation algorithm to amend the coupling strength calculation equation. It is based on the fact that the interferogram envelope area is constant even with the existence of birefringence dispersion. The experimental result shows that the time-domain algorithm has high accuracy, and the absolute deviation is less than 1%. The two methods are validated to mitigate the birefringence dispersion in the long-distance high-birefringence fiber effectively.

  • Vesicle Impact Electrochemical Cytometry to Determine Carbon Nanotube-Induced Fusion of Intracellular Vesicles
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Analytical Chemistry. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 0003-2700 .- 1520-6882. ; 93:39, s. 13161-13168
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Carbon nanotube (CNT)-modified electrodes are used to obtain new measurements of vesicle content via amperometry. We have investigated the interaction between CNTs and isolated adrenal chromaffin vesicles (as a model) by vesicle impact electrochemical cytometry. Our data show that the presence of CNTs not only significantly increased the vesicular catecholamine number from 2,250,000 +/- 112,766 molecules on a bare electrode to 3,880,000 +/- 686,573 molecules on CNT/carbon fiber electrodes but also caused an enhancement in the maximum intensity of the current, which implies the existence of strong interactions between vesicle biolayers and CNTs and an altered electroporation process. We suggest that CNTs might perturb and destabilize the membrane structure of intracellular vesicles and cause the aggregation or fusion of vesicles into new vesicles with larger size and higher content. Our findings are consistent with previous computational and experimental results and support the hypothesis that CNTs as a mediator can rearrange the phospholipid bilayer membrane and trigger homotypic fusion of intracellular vesicles.

  • Dynamic Rebalancing Optimization for Bike-Sharing System Using Priority-Based MOEA/D Algorithm
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: IEEE Access. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - 2169-3536. ; 9, s. 27067-27084
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As an indispensable part of public transportation systems, the bike-sharing system (BSS) can improve road resource utilization and alleviate traffic congestion, significantly improving urban mobility. The disproportion between the demand and supply creates a giant gap for maintaining the smooth functioning of the system. To address the issue, this paper proposes a dynamic optimization rebalancing model for docked bike-sharing systems, which aims at minimizing the operation cost of rebalancing while maximizing the user satisfaction. The rebalancing demand is evaluated using both historical and predicted data so that a second time service for each station could be avoided within a rebalancing horizon. A time-window based satisfaction modeling is put forward to evaluate user satisfaction. Multiobjective evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition (MOEA/D) under the rolling horizon strategy is adopted to solve the model. To improve the algorithmic performance, local search based on station priority is applied. Numerical experiments using real-world data were implemented to demonstrate the proposed model and the advantage of the improved algorithm. As the results indicate, the proposed algorithm outperforms the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) and MOEA/D without priority-based local search. Solutions with higher satisfaction profit can be discovered with the help of a local search heuristic based on station priority. The experiment also revealed that a slight increase of 7.02% ( yen 29.2) in the rebalancing cost could yield a significant growth of 1233.7% ( yen 288.7) in satisfaction profit.

  • Value-driven design : a methodology to link expectations to technical requirements in the extended enterprise
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: 23rd Annual International Symposium of the International Council on Systems Engineering, INCOSE 2013. - Philadelphia. ; , s. 171-187
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Current systems engineering (SE) standards do not address 'Value' in much detail. Yet, understanding what drives the generation of stakeholder value in a given business context, is fundamental to promoting a common and clear vision throughout the extended enterprise, of what should be the focus of their early, conceptual work at all levels of development. This paper presents a Value-Driven Design (VDD) methodology designed to strengthen the value and requirements maturation process within an extended enterprise setting. The work presented is the result of a three and a half year European program (CRESCENDO) within the aerospace sector. The VDD methodology is introduced and explained in an industrial aircraft development context and a selection of enabling methods and tools associated to the VDD methodology is presented

  • Identification of Metro-Bikeshare Transfer Trip Chains by Matching Docked Bikeshare and Metro Smartcards
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Energies. - : MDPI AG. - 1996-1073. ; 15:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Metro-bikeshare integration, an important way of improving the efficiency of public transportation, has grown rapidly during the last decades in many countries. However, most previous analysis of metro-bikeshare transfer trips were based on limited sample size and the number of recognized metro-bikeshare trips were not sufficient. The primary objective of this study is to derive a method to recognize metro-bikeshare transfer trips. The two data sources are provided by Nanjing Metro Company and Nanjing Public Bicycle Company over the same period from 9-29 March 2016. The identifying method includes three steps: (1) Matching Card Pairs (2) Filtering Card Pairs and (3) Identifying Card Pairs. The case study indicates that the Support Vector Classification (SVC) performs best with a high prediction accuracy of 95.9% using seamless smartcards. The identifying method is then used to recognize the transfer trips from other types of cards, resulting in 17,022 valid metro-bikeshare transfer trips made by 2948 travelers. Finally, travel patterns extracted from the two groups of identified transfer trips are analyzed comparatively. The method proposed presents new opportunities for analyzing metro-bikeshare transfer trip characteristics.

  • Pore-Opening Dynamics of Single Nanometer Biovesicles at an Electrified Interface
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: ACS Nano. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1936-0851 .- 1936-086X. ; 16:6, s. 9852-9858
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Release from nanobiovesicles via a pore generated by membrane electroporation at an electrified interface can be monitored by vesicle impact electrochemical cytometry (VIEC) and provides rich information about the various vesicular content transfer processes, including content homeostasis, intraphase content transfer, or the transient fusion of vesicles. These processes are primarily influenced by the vesicular pore-opening dynamics at the electrified interface which has not been disclosed at the single nanobiovesicle level yet. In this work, after simultaneously measuring the size and release dynamics of individual vesicles, we employed a moving mesh-finite element simulation algorithm to reconstruct the accurate pore-opening dynamics of individual vesicles with different sizes during VIEC. We investigated the expansion times and maximal pore sizes as two characteristics of different vesicles. The pore expansion times between nanobiovesicles and pure lipid liposomes were compared, and that of the nanobiovesicles is much longer than that for the liposomes, 2.1 ms vs 0.18 ms, respectively, which reflects the membrane proteins limiting the electroporation process. For the vesicles with different sizes, a positive relationship of pore size (Rp,max) with the vesicle size (Rves) and also their ratio (Rp,max/Rves) versus the vesicle sizes is observed. The mechanism of the pore size determination is discussed and related to the membrane proteins and the vesicle size. This work accurately describes the dynamic pore-opening process of individual vesicles which discloses the heterogeneity in electroporation of different sized vesicles. This should allow us to examine the more complicated vesicular content transfer process between intravesicular compartments.
