- Este volumen es una reflexión sobre cómo el 23-F, un evento fundamental en la historia española contemporánea y en la Transición, ha ido transformándose en su narrativa, y cómo dicho cambio se ha gestado en la producción cultural y artística a lo largo de cuatro décadas.Dividido en ocho capítulos, se analizan novelas, películas, series de televisión, documentales, obras de teatro e instalaciones escultóricas bajo la perspectiva de qué obras reaccionan y cuáles accionan, entendiendo como obras reactivas aquellas que continúan con el statu quo sin generar perspectivas distintas, frente a las obras activas que posibilitan nuevos enfoques y aproximaciones alternativas con el paso del tiempo.En definitiva, esta edición es una invitación a que el/la lector/a revisite las narrativas establecidas sobre el 23-F y asimismo se acerque a otros modos de (re)presentarlo, para tener una experiencia más completa del acontecimiento y sus implicaciones.

- Digitization is already changing Europe and the whole world. Whether or not we can leverage its opportunities to foster prosperity, human well-being, and sustainability depends on the strategic decisions taken today. Will the countries work together to embrace these opportunities, or will they let this chance pass? Overcoming historical divides and acting solidarity united in a prosperous Europe is the only way. As digital frontrunners, the IS researchers have a key role to play and the responsibility to act as an engine to make the digital transition happen at a sufficiently fast pace for Europe to remain competitive in a rapidly digitizing world. Digitization in united societies is about bringing people together, having a better life and a bright future. Together we can build societies collectively inclusive, innovative, and able to adapt to the massive societal challenges of the 21st century. ECIS 2022 will bring together information systems (IS) researchers in East and West, being only the second time in Eastern Europe after Gdańsk, Poland, in 2002. ECIS in Timișoara will provide a unique opportunity to unite IS researchers in Europe, making it an inclusive conference that allows all academics from AIS Region 2 to participate. We believe that the participants will find the conference fee really likeable and we promise to deliver good value for the money. Timișoara’s aim is to connect and ultimately digitally unite academics and societies.

- St Birgitta of Sweden (d. 1373) is one of the most celebrated female visionaries and authors of the Middle Ages and a central figure in the history of late-medieval religion. An aristocratic widow, Birgitta left her native country in 1349 and settled in Rome, where she established herself as an outspoken critic of the Avignon Papacy and an advocate of spiritual and ecclesiastical reform. Birgitta founded a new monastic order, and her major work, The Heavenly Book of Revelations, circulated widely in a variety of monastic, reformist, and intellectual milieus following her death. This volume offers an introduction to the saint and the reception of her work written by experts from various disciplines. In addition to acquainting the reader with the state of the scholarship, the study also presents fresh interpretations and new perspectives on Birgitta and the sources for her life and writings.

The essays cover a wide range of avant-garde manifestations: literature, visual arts, theatre, architecture and design, film, radio, body culture and magazines. It is the first major historical work to consider the Nordic avant-garde in a transnational perspective that includes all the arts and to discuss the role of the avant-garde not only within the aesthetic field but in a broader cultural and political context: the pre-war and wartime responses to international developments, the new cultural institutions, sexual politics, the impact of refugees and the new start after the war.

- The achievement of frictionless systems, known as superlubricity, has become of great importance concerning energy saving and emission reduction. In parallel, the drive toward sustainability and environmental aspects has led to intense advances in the research and development of biobased materials. From the standpoint of Green Chemistry principles, this review presents a critical overview of the latest findings and future perspectives on the application of biobased materials aiming at superlubricant pursuits. The progress in the use of biomacromolecules, such as chitosan, cellulose, and lignin, as additives to lubricants or coating materials, are addressed, as well as the advances on sustainable coatings based on diamond-like carbon (DLC). Deeper investigations on the development of non-hazardous processes dedicated to the tribological properties of DLC, such as electrochemical synthesis using environment-friendly solvents to generate molecular precursors, widen the perspectives to achieve sustainable materials. Besides, the exploration of the tribochemical interactions between the DLC surface and lubricants containing biobased materials arises as a promising strategy to achieve green superlubricity as a viable and scalable process, through different pathways: by hydrogen bonds between lubricant and additives, via surface passivation of the functional groups present in these biomacromolecules or by biomimicking natural joints.

Electrochemical Depolymerization of Lignin in a Biomass-based Solvent

- Breaking down lignin into smaller units is the key to generate high value-added products. Nevertheless, dissolving this complex plant polyphenol in an environment-friendly way is often a challenge. Levulinic acid, which is formed during the hydrothermal processing of lignocellulosic biomass, has been shown to efficiently dissolve lignin. Herein, levulinic acid was evaluated as a medium for the reductive electrochemical depolymerization of the lignin macromolecule. Copper was chosen as the electrocatalyst due to the economic feasibility and low activity towards the hydrogen evolution reaction. After depolymerization, high-resolution mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy revealed lignin-derived monomers and dimers. A predominance of aryl ether and phenolic groups was observed. Depolymerized lignin was further evaluated as an anti-corrosion coating, revealing enhancements on the electrochemical stability of the metal. Via a simple depolymerization process of biomass waste in a biomass-based solvent, a straightforward approach to produce high value-added compounds or tailored biobased materials was demonstrated.
