  • IRIDE : Interdisciplinary research infrastructure based on dual electron linacs and lasers
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A. - : Elsevier BV. - 0168-9002 .- 1872-9576. ; 740, s. 138-146
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper describes the scientific aims and potentials as well as the preliminary technical design of RUDE, an innovative tool for multi-disciplinary investigations in a wide field of scientific, technological and industrial applications. IRIDE will be a high intensity "particles factory", based on a combination of high duty cycle radio-frequency superconducting electron linacs and of high energy lasers. Conceived to provide unique research possibilities for particle physics, for condensed matter physics, chemistry and material science, for structural biology and industrial applications, IRIDE will open completely new research possibilities and advance our knowledge in many branches of science and technology. [RIDE is also supposed to be realized in subsequent stages of development depending on the assigned priorities.

  • A mixed mechanochemical-ceramic solid-state synthesis as simple and cost effective route to high-performance LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 spinels
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Electrochimica Acta. - : Elsevier BV. - 0013-4686. ; 235, s. 262-269
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The implementation of high potential materials as positive electrodes in high energy Li-ion batteries requires to develop scalable and smart synthetic routes. In the case of the LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 (LNMO) spinel material, a successful preparation strategy must drive the phase formation in order to obtain structural, morphological and surface properties capable to boost performances in lithium cells and minimize the electrolyte degradation. Here we discuss a novel simple and easily scalable mechanochemical synthetic route, followed by a high temperature annealing in air, to prepare LMNO materials starting from oxides. A synergic doping with chromium and iron has been incorporated, resulting in the spontaneous segregation of a CrOx-rich surface layer. The effect of the annealing temperature on the physico-chemical properties of the LMNO material has been investigated as well as the effect on the performances in Licells.

  • Study of Si 2p core-level shift at the As/Si(001)-2×1 surface
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Surface Science 499, 244 (2002).
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The atomic origin of the photoemission Si 2p core level, shifted at 0.35 eV higher binding energy, at the As/Si(0 0 1)-2×1 surface, is investigated. The study is based on the determination of the surface structure by means of multiple scattering analysis of As 3d azimuth photoelectron diffraction (PD) patterns. The obtained structure is used to assign the atomic origin of the Si 2p component by surface core level shift PD. We find that a single atom contributes to the core level, while, on the basis of final state calculations, a contribution from two different atoms would be expected
