  • Control of Separation on the Flap of a Three-Element High-Lift Configuration
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: 45th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit. - : AIAA. - 9781563478901
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper describes a joint experimental and numerical investigation of the control of the flow over the flap of a three-element high-lift configuration by means of periodic excitation. At Reynolds numbers between 0.3 ï¿œ 106 and 1 ï¿œ 106 the flow is influenced by periodic blowing or periodic blowing/suction through slots near the flap leading edge. The delay of flow separation by periodic vertical excitation could be identified in the experiments as well as numerical simulations based on the Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations (URANS). As a result, the mean aerodynamic lift of this practically relevant wing configuration could be significantly enhanced. By investigating different excitation frequencies and intensities optimum control parameters could be found. The behaviour of the aerodynamic forces with varying flap deflection angle are measured on a finite swept wing. Scientific visualisation of the numerical simulations of an infinite swept wing allows a detailed analysis of the structures in this complex flow field and the effect of flow control on these.

  • Electronic Correlations in Multiferroic Van der Waals CuCrP2S6 : Insights from X-ray Spectroscopy and DFT
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physical Chemistry C. - 1932-7447. ; 128:18, s. 7830-7839
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The electronic structure of high-quality van der Waals multiferroic CuCrP2S6 crystals was investigated by applying photoelectron spectroscopy methods in combination with DFT analysis. Using X-ray photoelectron and near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy at the Cu L2,3 and Cr L2,3 absorption edges, we determine the charge states of ions in the studied compound. Analyzing the systematic NEXAFS and resonant photoelectron spectroscopy data at the Cu/Cr L2,3 absorption edges allowed us to assign the CuCrP2S6 material to a Mott-Hubbard type insulator and identify different Auger-decay channels (participator vs spectator) during absorption and autoionization processes. Spectroscopic and theoretical data obtained for CuCrP2S6 are very important for the detailed understanding of the electronic structure and electron-correlations phenomena in different layered materials, which will drive their further applications in different areas, like electronics, spintronics, sensing, and catalysis.

  • CELTIC CP5-026 WINNER+, D2.2 Enabling Techniques for LTE-A and beyond
  • 2010
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This deliverable summarizes the most promising enabling techniques for LTE-A and beyond in seven major areas. These areas are: Carrier Aggregation, Coordinated Multipoint Systems, Femtocells, Network Coding, MIMO, Quality of Service, Resource allocation, and Relaying. A description of the most relevant scenarios where the techniques can be used is given. Further the end-2-end performance approach is presented. Finally future research directions of enabling techniques beyond LTE-A are given.

  • CELTIC CP5-026 WINNER+, D1.9 Final Innovation Report
  • 2010
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This deliverable is the final innovation report from the innovation workpackage in WINNER+. The document describes the latest innovations and their assessment as well as summarizes the innovations developed in the work package during the project. We analyze the suitability of these innovations as technology enablers for improving current systems, in particular IMT Advanced and beyond.

  • Feature-based Analysis of a Multi-Parameter Flow Simulation
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Proc. SimVis 2008. ; , s. 237-251
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In our work we examine a high-dimensional, massive flow data set around an airfoil using a topology-based vortex analysis. The 3D time-dependent flow depends on two additional parameters which are introduced by an active flow control technique aiming at increasing the lift by periodic blowing and suction. In particular, we study the influence of the actuation parameters frequency and intensity of air injection and show how our vortex analysis helps in understanding the underlying physics.
