  • Optical parametric amplification of a picosecond pulsed laser diode at 975 nm
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 - 9780780389748
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Optical parametric amplification, employing periodically poled KTiOPO 4 as the gain medium, was used to amplify picosecond pulses at 975 nm emitted by a laser diode. A gain of 35 dB was achieved.

  • Remote laser-induced fluorescence imaging for assessment of cultural heritage
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 ; , s. 685-685
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, we propose to perform remote laser-induced fluorescence imaging for assessment of cultural heritage. The experiments are performed using the lidar system consist of frequency-tripled Nd:YAG laser at 355 nm with a spot size of ~4 cm diameter and the signal is collected using a coaxial 40-cm-diameter Newtonian telescope. The fluorescence light is focused into an optical fibre and guided a time-gated optical multichannel analyser system, where the fluorescence spectrum is recorded. Then the laser directed to the next point and thus a fluorescence image can be produced

  • Remote LIBS and Raman imaging for assessment of cultural heritage
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 ; , s. 684-684
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, we propose to perform remote laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) and Raman imaging of historical monuments to assess the state of a building. The lidar system is equipped with a Nd:YAG pumped optical parametrical oscillator (OPO) system, allowing laser radiation in the wavelength range 220 nm-4 μm. The laser radiation can be sent through a roof-top dome which can steer the radiation onto the point of interest

  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 - 9780780389748
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We demonstrate a narrow bandwidth optical parametric oscillator (OPO) in a compact setup with a bulk Bragg grating as outcoupler reaching a signal bandwidth of 0.18 nm at 975 nm.

  • Attosecond pulses by high-order harmonic generation in gases
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 ; , s. 688-688
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, we review the physics of harmonic generation in gases and production of short attosecond pulses. Different methods to ensure a sufficient degree of synchronization, for example, selecting the cutoff region of the spectrum or compressing of attosecond pulses with apertures and metallic filters are presented

  • Tunable diode laser spectroscopy for gas detection inside scattering media
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 ; , s. 646-646
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The present communication is mainly focused on molecular oxygen detection in porous organic matter, through a tunable diode laser spectroscopy. Initial measurements on wood were preformed in order to illustrate the influence of the density and anisotropy of the sample on the GASMAS-signal. Additional measurements were performed on horticultural produces, in which the concentration of the molecular oxygen gas is of crucial importance for the ripening process and the quality of the produces. The methodology presented is general and can be applied to a large number of problems concerning gas exchange in porous materials, which can be of interest in applications ranging from biological and medical to industrial and pharmaceutical

  • All-diode-laser ultra-violet absorption spectroscopy and temporal gas correlation spectroscopy
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 ; , s. 443-443
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Here, we present a scheme producing UV radiation around 302 nm by sum-frequency generation in beta-barium borate employing a blue and a near-infrared diode laser. The diode-laser-based spectrometer has a mode-hop-free tuning range of 50 GHz and can be used for high-resolution spectroscopic detection of sulfur dioxide. Differential measurements of several sulfur dioxide gas concentrations, at low pressure as well as at ambient atmospheric pressure, are demonstrated. A particularly interesting aspect of the mixing scheme, is that the near-infrared and blue radiation can be tuned to absorption features of water and nitrogen dioxide, respectively

  • Confinement of attosecond train pulses by using a modulated polarization IR pulse
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: 2005 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe. - 0780389743 - 9780780389748
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study the temporal and spectral behaviour of high order harmonics generated by pulses with temporally modulated polarization. We observe a harmonic temporal confinement and a harmonic spectral broadening, compatible with 1 -or-2 attosecond pulse emission.
