  • Green Vehicles’ Responses to an Expiring Congestion Toll Exemption : Findings from a Natural Experiment in Stockholm, Sweden
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Findings. - : Network Design Lab - Transport Findings. - 2652-8800.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Stockholm established time-varying congestion pricing in 2007, and adopted a toll exemption as a temporary incentive for green vehicles (GVs) that ended in 2012. We examine the behavioral effects of phasing out the exemption by studying the change in cordon crossing events for GV morning commuters between May 2012 and May 2013, with a random sample of conventional vehicles (CVs) as control. The results suggest i) a significant drop in the total number of crossings; ii) a slight shift towards later journeys in the morning; and iii) a reduction in the ratio of peak-toll period crossings to other ones.

  • Examining the Use and Non-use of Special Transport Services in Sweden’s Large City-Regions : The Last Resort?
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Findings. - : Findings Press. - 2652-8800.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study examines the extent of the gap between the proportions of survey respondents reporting (1) having the possibility to use and (2) using special transport services (STS) compared to the corresponding gaps for other transport modes. For persons eligible for STS, differences between those who use them and those who do not use them are explored. The frequencies with which these two groups leave the home are then compared. Those aged 65-69, those with higher self-rated health and those cohabiting were less likely to use STS, despite being eligible. Those using STS tend to leave the home less often.

  • When is Perceived Accessibility Over- or Underestimated by Accessibility Indicators?
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Findings. - 2652-8800.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study delves into mismatches between accessibility indicators and perceived accessibility across transport modes for the case of grocery shopping. Conducted in Gothenburg, Sweden, the study combines a web panel survey with 1,423 participants and detailed location-based accessibility indicators. Findings reveal mismatches, with analyst’s overestimation (when the accessibility indicator is high, despite low perceived access) and analyst’s underestimation (low indicator, high perceived accessibility) varying across transportation modes. Notably, underestimation is prominent for car accessibility. Multinomial logistic regressions identify key variables influencing these mismatches, such as parenting status, education level and habitual car use.

  • Sustained Work from Home Post-Pandemic? A Swedish Case
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Findings. - 2652-8800. ; April
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We investigate whether office workers will continue to work from home after COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Office workers at two Swedish public agencies were surveyed concerning the pre-pandemic experience of work from home, current practices, and willingness to continue work from home post-pandemic. Results indicate that willingness increased greatly during the pandemic. Most surveyed workers wanted to continue to work from home at least three days per week, and the greater the experience of remote work, the greater the inclination to increase the number of days of working from home. Job type, housing, public transport commuting, and living region affected
