  • The first visual object tracking segmentation VOTS2023 challenge results
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 2023 IEEE/CVF International conference on computer vision workshops (ICCVW). - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. - 9798350307443 - 9798350307450 ; , s. 1788-1810
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking Segmentation VOTS2023 challenge is the eleventh annual tracker benchmarking activity of the VOT initiative. This challenge is the first to merge short-term and long-term as well as single-target and multiple-target tracking with segmentation masks as the only target location specification. A new dataset was created; the ground truth has been withheld to prevent overfitting. New performance measures and evaluation protocols have been created along with a new toolkit and an evaluation server. Results of the presented 47 trackers indicate that modern tracking frameworks are well-suited to deal with convergence of short-term and long-term tracking and that multiple and single target tracking can be considered a single problem. A leaderboard, with participating trackers details, the source code, the datasets, and the evaluation kit are publicly available at the challenge website1

  • Genome-wide association analyses in Han Chinese identify two new susceptibility loci for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Nature Genetics. - : Nature Publishing Group. - 1061-4036 .- 1546-1718. ; 45:6, s. 697-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • To identify susceptibility genes for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) in 506 individuals with sporadic ALS and 1,859 controls of Han Chinese ancestry. Ninety top SNPs suggested by the current GWAS and 6 SNPs identified by previous GWAS were analyzed in an independent cohort of 706 individuals with ALS and 1,777 controls of Han Chinese ancestry. We discovered two new susceptibility loci for ALS at 1q32 (CAMK1G, rs6703183, P-combined = 2.92 x 10(-8), odds ratio (OR) = 1.31) and 22p11 (CABIN1 and SUSD2, rs8141797, P-combined = 2.35 x 10(-9), OR = 1.52). These two loci explain 12.48% of the overall variance in disease risk in the Han Chinese population. We found no association evidence for the previously reported loci in the Han Chinese population, suggesting genetic heterogeneity of disease susceptibility for ALS between ancestry groups. Our study identifies two new susceptibility loci and suggests new pathogenic mechanisms of ALS.

  • Solution-processed bulk heterojunction organic solar cells based on an oligothiophene derivative
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Applied Physics Letters. - : American Institute of Physics. - 0003-6951 .- 1077-3118. ; 97:2, s. 023303-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Organic bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells based on a dicyanovinyl-substituted oligothiophene as a donor and [6,6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) as an acceptor were fabricated and characterized. The oligothiophene derivative can absorb long wavelength photons of the solar radiation, which makes the solar cells with an optimized weight ratio of 1:1.4 have a decent short-circuit current density (12.4 mA/cm(2)) and open-circuit voltage (0.88 V) under AM 1.5G illumination with an intensity of 100 mW/cm(2). A power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.7% is achieved, which is among the best PCEs of solution processed small molecule BHJ solar cells.

  • Numerical modeling of GaN growth by MOCVD on metal substrate
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Digest of Technical Papers - SID International Symposium. - 2168-0159 .- 0097-966X. ; 55:S1, s. 1059-1063
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • GaN materials have attracted great interest and have demonstrated remarkable potential in many fields. When growing GaN materials, substrate selection is of great importance. By virtue of their nominally unlimited size, easy removal, and excellent thermal conduction, metal substrates have been suggested as an alternative to the commonly used substrates such as sapphire. GaN growth on metal substrates, however, is still quite rare, and many aspects remain unexplored. This paper uses computational fluid dynamics to perform a three-dimensional numerical simulation of the GaNMOCVD reaction chamber. We investigated the influence of the graphite containers' rotational velocity and the metal matrix's temperature at various locations. When the pressure within the MOCVD chamber remains constant, increasing the graphite tray's rotational velocity enhances the temperature field distribution within the chamber. However, the flow field becomes unstable when the rotation rate exceeds 1000 rpm. Our findings serve as a crucial benchmark for the future parameter optimization of MOCVD growth of GaN on metals.

  • Three-dimensional trueness and margin quality of monolithic zirconia restorations fabricated by additive 3D gel deposition
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Journal of Prosthodontic Research. - : Japan Prosthodontic Society. - 1883-1958 .- 2212-4632. ; 64:4, s. 478-484
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the three-dimensional trueness and margin quality of monolithic zirconia restorations fabricated by additive 3D gel deposition, compared with those by subtractive milling. Methods: Ten single crowns and ten 4-unit FPDs of different occlusal geometries and margin thickness were fabricated by additive 3D gel deposition (additive group) and subtractive milling (subtractive group). An intraoral scanner was used to digitalize the restorations. 3D deviation analysis was applied and root mean square (RMS) was used to assess the trueness. Margin quality was characterized using optical stereomicroscopy and 3D laser scanning microscopy. Results: For single crowns with shallow fossae and grooves and normal margin, RMS value of additive group and subtractive group showed no significant difference in external surface, while additive group showed higher RMS value in intaglio surface. As for 4-unit FPDs with deep fossae and grooves and thin margin, RMS value of additive group in external surface was significantly lower than that of subtractive group and in intaglio surface there was no significant difference between two groups. With a 0.5 mm chamfer design, single crowns in additive group showed flawless margin with a smooth contour line, whereas minor flaws could be observed in 4-unit FPDs with thin margin. In subtractive group, restorations showed minor flaws or defects of various number and severity. Conclusions: Monolithic zirconia restorations fabricated by additive 3D gel deposition have comparable trueness and better margin quality than those fabricated by subtractive milling. Besides it is more capable of enabling complex geometry.

  • Polymer synergy for efficient hole transport in solar cells and photodetectors
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Energy & Environmental Science. - : ROYAL SOC CHEMISTRY. - 1754-5692 .- 1754-5706.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Hole transport materials (HTMs) have greatly advanced the progress of solution-based electronic devices in the past few years. Nevertheless, most devices employing dopant-free organic HTMs can only deliver inferior performance. In this work, we introduced a novel "polymer synergy" strategy to develop versatile dopant-free polymer HTMs for quantum dot/perovskite solar cells and photodetectors. With this synergy strategy, the optical, electrical and aggregation properties of polymer HTMs can be modulated, resulting in complementary absorption, high hole mobility, favorable energy landscape and moderate aggregation. Moreover, a clear orientational transition was observed for the developed HTMs with a 9-fold increase in the face-on/edge-on ratio, providing a highway-like carrier transport for electronic devices, as revealed by in situ characterization and ultrafast transient absorption. With these benefits, the photovoltaic and photodetection performance of quantum dot devices were boosted from 11.8% to 13.5% and from 2.95 x 10(12) to 3.41 x 10(13) Jones (over a 10-fold increase), respectively. Furthermore, the developed polymer HTMs can also significantly enhance the photovoltaic and photodetection performance of perovskite devices from 15.1% to 22.7% and from 2.7 x 10(12) to 2.17 x 10(13)Jones with the same device structure, indicating their great application potential in the emerging optoelectronics.

  • Systematic study on size and temporal dependence of micro-LED arrays for display applications
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Photonics Research. - 2327-9125. ; 11:4, s. 549-557
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Micro-LEDs are one of the most promising candidates for next-generation displays, yet they are inconvenienced by the efficiency reduction induced by the sidewall defects when pursuing further scaled-down device dimensions. We have systematically investigated both the size and temporal dependence of micro-LEDs. Micro-LED arrays with a mesa size ranging from 7 to 100 μm were prepared for display purposes. The luminance and external quantum efficiency (EQE) were measured and discussed. Surprisingly, micro-LED arrays with a smaller mesa size exhibit a higher EQE under 100 ns pulse duration operation when compared with longer pulse duration operations. Under certain short-pulsed excitation, a 7 × 7 μm2 micro-LED array even exhibits a >20% higher EQE as compared to the direct current (DC) or the long duration pulse operation condition. We thus concluded that the notorious efficiency reduction induced by sidewall defects in small-sized micro-LED arrays could be significantly reduced by applying short-pulse voltages.

  • Development of surrogate measures for crash-based safety estimation
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 16th International Conference Road Safety on Four Continents. - Linköping : Statens väg- och transportforskningsinstitut.
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The paper investigates the validity of promising surrogate measures by investigating the link between such measures and safety. Such measures, if shown to be valid, can be used in two ways: a) to evaluate a newly implemented measure for which data can be quickly assembled to estimate the effect on the safety surrogate and, by implication, the effect on expected crashes, and b) to estimate the safety effects of a proposed change by first estimating the effect on the safety surrogate and then relating that outcome to the expected change in crashes. The idea is not new. In fact, several researchers have been working on various complementary pieces of the puzzle. The key missing link is in developing measures that can in fact be linked explicitly to safety as manifested in expected numbers of crashes. In addressing this void, two complementary sets of models are explored – models to relate surrogate measures to design features and models to relate crashes to surrogate measures. The first set successfully modeled simulated conflicts for urban signalized intersections estimated from micro-simulation software, complementing the models for measured and predicted speeds for roundabouts that have been developed in our recently published research. Models relating these surrogate measures to observed crashes suggest that there is promise in the approach of using certain surrogate measures for crash-based safety estimation.

  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: Pneumonia is a common disease worldwide in preschool children. Despite its large population size, China has had no comprehensive study of the national prevalence, risk factors, and management of pneumonia among preschool children. We therefore investigated the prevalence of pneumonia among preschool children in Chinese seven representative cities, and explore the possible risk factors of pneumonia on children, with a view to calling the world's attention to childhood pneumonia to reduce the prevalence of childhood pneumonia. Methods: Two group samples of 63,663 and 52,812 preschool children were recruited from 2011 and 2019 surveys, respectively. Which were derived from the cross-sectional China, Children, Homes, Health (CCHH) study using a multi-stage stratified sampling method. This survey was conducted in kindergartens in seven representative cities. Exclusion criteria were younger than 2 years old or older than 8 years old, non-permanent population, basic information such as gender, date of birth and breast feeding is incomplete. Pneumonia was determined on the basis of parents reported history of clearly diagnosed by the physician. All participants were assessed with a standard questionnaire. Risk factors for pneumonia, and association between pneumonia and other respiratory diseases were examined by multivariable-adjusted analyses done in all participants for whom data on the variables of interest were available. Disease management was evaluated by the parents' reported history of physician diagnosis, longitudinal comparison of risk factors in 2011 and 2019.Results: In 2011 and 2019, 31,277 (16,152 boys and 15,125 girls) and 32,016 (16,621 boys and 15,395 girls) preschool children aged at 2-8 of permanent population completed the questionnaire, respectively, and were thus included in the final analysis. • Recent progress of cathode materials for aqueous zinc-ion capacitors: Carbon-based materials and beyond
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Carbon. - : Elsevier BV. - 0008-6223. ; 185, s. 126-151
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • As an emerging multivalent-ion-based energy storage device, aqueous zinc-ion capacitors (AZICs) combine the merits of zinc-ion batteries with high energy density, excellent safety, low cost and environmental friendliness, and the advantages of supercapacitors with high power density and superior cycling performance. Therefore, AZICs have been considered as a new promising electrochemical energy storage system. Though great progress of AZICs has been made recently, they are still in the infant stage and face many challenges. Specially, the unsatisfactory energy density needs to be improved to realize their practical applications, which calls for high-capacity cathode materials. In this review, after a brief introduction of progress and mechanism for AZICs, we provide a systematical overview of the latest advances in the state-of-art cathode materials. The synthesis route, structure and morphology, electrochemical performance, energy storage mechanism as well as the merits and drawbacks of various cathode materials are comprehensively compared and discussed. Finally, a summary and outlook of the challenges and future perspectives of AZICs were presented. With these, this review might offer some guidance for the future design of dedicated novel cathode materials to realize the great potential of AZICs.

  • Surface-imprinted fluorescence microspheres as ultrasensitive sensor for rapid and effective detection of tetracycline in real biological samples
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical. - : Elsevier. - 0925-4005 .- 1873-3077. ; 263, s. 533-542
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Molecularly imprinted fluorescence sensors have shown great promise in environmental or biological monitoring and due to its high stability, selectivity and sensitivity. In this study, a fluorescence surface imprinted sensor (SiO2-AF@MIPs) towards tetracycline (TC) was successfully prepared to address the shortcomings in current molecularly imprinted fluorescent sensor, such as slow response, limited detection and deteriorated performance in real complex samples. Benefited from the thin surface-imprinting layer, the SiO2-AF@MIPs sensors showed higher sensitivity (LOD low to 4.26 nM), rapid detection rate, reusable performance and excellent selectivity over several target competitors. Furthermore, the fluorescence sensor could efficiently detect TC in real biological samples, including tetracycline hydrochloride injection, human serum and swine urine. These results clearly demonstrated the potential value of this smart sensor nanomaterial in environmental monitoring and biological diagnosis. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

  • Efficient non-fullerene organic solar cells employing sequentially deposited donor-acceptor layers
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Journal of Materials Chemistry A. - : ROYAL SOC CHEMISTRY. - 2050-7488 .- 2050-7496. ; 6:37, s. 18225-18233
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs) have recently outperformed their fullerene counterparts in binary bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells (OSCs). Further development of NFA OSCs may benefit other novel OSC device structures that alter or extend the standard BHJ concept. Here, we report such a new processing route that forms a BHJ-like morphology between sequentially processed polymer donor and NFA with high power conversion efficiencies in excess of 10%. Both devices show similar charge generation and recombination behaviours, supporting formation of similar BHJ active layers. We correlate the approximate to 30 meV smaller open-circuit voltage in sq-BHJ devices to more substantial non-radiative recombination by voltage loss analysis. We also determine the exciton diffusion length of benchmark polymer PBDB-T to be 10 +/- 3 nm. Our results demonstrate high-efficiency OSC devices using sequential deposition method and provide new opportunities to further improve performance of state-of-the-art OSCs.
