  • "It gives me peace of mind". A new perspective on the identification of quality cues on salmon fillet products in Japan and the USA
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Aquaculture. - : Elsevier B.V.. - 0044-8486 .- 1873-5622. ; 554
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The way in which perceived quality affects consumer food choice is complex due to variations in intrinsic and extrinsic product attributes that interface with personal factors and the socio-cultural context. Taking the example of salmon fillets sold in the USA and Japan, this study uses a think-aloud protocol (TAP) as a data collection method and a corpus (text data)-driven approach as an analytical tool for uncovering how consumers infer quality cues on salmon fillets. The study aims to help in designing representative studies and may help in explaining survey results. The findings indicate that consumers infer quality under the influence of multiple factors, including individual knowledge of food production, processing and cooking, personal preferences based on culinary heritage and the socio-cultural environment. This study also shows how a TAP can be used in combination with text mining to provide richer insights into consumer choice.

  • Framing of National Image in a Climate of Socio-Political Uncertainty: A Study of IKEA and Volvo Car Corporation in Swedish and Russian News Media
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Economic and Geopolitical Perspectives of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eurasia. - USA : IGI Global. - 9781522532644 ; , s. 137-156
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The climate ripple of socio-political relations between countries can be seen to directly influence trading and international business relations. Discourse within the socio-political realms reflects in discourse within the economic realms. A common channel through which such perspectives are mediated between the political realms, corporate relations, and public opinion is the news media, both traditional and new, such as social media and Internet publishing. This chapter examines and compares how major business newspapers in Sweden, Dagens Industry (DI), and two business newspapers in Russia, Kommersant (Ъ-Газета - Коммерсантъ) and RBC (РБК) represent Sweden's national image between 2014-2015, a period of uncertain socio-political relations between Russia and the Nordic Eurasian states, in particular, Sweden, in the process of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in 2014.

  • “Just Google Translate It!” ICT Use of Migrant IT professionals for Mitigating Workplace Integration Challenges
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: AMCIS (Americas Conference on Information Systems), Minneapolis, MI, August 10-14.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • IT professionals represent a growing group of highly educated migrants in different countries, yet research on their workplace integration is scarce. Applying a combined theoretical framework of Hofstede's culture dimensions and functional theory of language approach, this paper addresses the research need in investigating how migrant IT professionals to Sweden integrate into the workplace and the role of ICTs in mitigating integration challenges. Fifteen (15) interviews with IT professionals from India and Pakistan were analyzed using Thematic Content Analysis. Results uncover migrants experiencing language barriers and cultural differences, which impede developing relationships with colleagues and career opportunities. Our findings indicate that although ICTs, primarily machine translation applications, are indispensable for supporting communication between migrants and locals, collegial support is still essential for managing intercultural interactions, contributing to migrants’ feelings of connectedness at work and a sense of belonging. Workplace inclusion and suggestions for practitioners are discussed.

  • A Systems Integral Approach in Exploring Creative Innovation in Culinary Research : The Example of Seaweed in the Context of the New Nordic Cuisine
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: International journal of food studies. - : ISEKI Food Association. - 2182-1054. ; 11:1, s. 106-128
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Creativity and innovation in culinary research have gained steady academic interest over the last decade. The scholastic interest in creative innovation ranges from its artistic value to culinary creations, gastronomic experiences, and food science and technology. Creative innovation is important for food enterprises to succeed in a highly competitive market. In the context of the New Nordic Cuisine, entrepreneurs and chefs are constantly challenged to bring something new to the dining table. In this context, the processes of creative innovation remain under researched, particularly in the use of seaweed. As such, using the example of seaweed, a relatively new food in the New Nordic Cuisine, the objective of this corpus based study was to explore creative innovation from a systems integral approach, in order to uncover salient themes that contribute the processes of creative innovation in culinary research, and bringing new foods to market. For a corpus driven study, we built a small corpora of interviews with chefs, and food entrepreneurs. We enquired after what inspired and motivated them when faced with a challenge of bringing a relatively new food to market, or in creating new dishes with new available food technologies. The results suggested that food technology plays a critical role in creative innovation, and the resulting new dishes that can be presented to customers. They also suggested that seaweed in the New Nordic Cuisine is an emerging food concept, and that it is embedded in a social and cultural history and familiarity of the Nordic people.

  • An Integral Systems Theory Perspective of Interdisciplinary Collaboration : The Example of CATCH, a Capture-Based Aquaculture Research Project for Quality Norwegian Cod Products
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Academic Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies. - : Sciendo. - 2281-3993 .- 2281-4612. ; 8:1, s. 19-35
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Due to the increasing complexity of the global development challenges that need solving, the past thirty years have seen interdisciplinary research (IDR) and university-industry collaboration developing into its own subject of research. While there have been numerous studies on defining and evaluating IDR, what remains under-researched is a unifying or integral perspective in IDR theoretical framing and conceptualisation much due to the nature of the multiple disciplines that constitute IDR. This study takes an integral systems theory perspective in address of the knowledge-gap in IDR, using the example of the project CATCH, a capture-based aquaculture research project funded by the Research Council of Norway and industry partners, for improved Norwegian cod products to local and global markets. The purpose of this study is to investigate and uncover the management strategies of the project CATCH, with the goal of illustrating how elements of such a management strategy can be mapped unto a four-quadrant integral systems theory model towards a unified perspective of an IDR project. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has projected a 20% growth in global fish production and consumption by 2030. CATCH, which is situated in the field of fisheries and aquaculture research, makes for a timely and interesting example of how an inherently IDR project is managed and executed by multiple stakeholders from academic institutions as well as industry partners. The contribution of this study is twofold, (i) working towards the consolidation of the theoretical foundations of IDR, and (ii) developing empirical insights into the management processes and strategy of an IDR project

  • An Integrated Economic Sociology Approach to Market-as-Network : The Example of a Shared Business Environment between Norway and China
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of East-West Business. - : Routledge. - 1066-9868 .- 1528-6959. ; 27:4, s. 357-381
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study applies an economic sociology perspective in exploring the importance of cultural embeddedness of firm economic activities across borders. The findings are data driven and uses the seafood trade and its shared business environments between Norway and China as case example. The empirical findings of this study show that market-as-network, and actor-to-actor interrelationships will become increasingly important in forming resilient business networks. It also illustrates how economic sociology can provide a holistic framework of analysis in studying cultural embeddedness.

  • Blockchain-based traceability system adoption in the wine global value chain. A unified theory of acceptance and use of technology framework of analysis, the example of the Chinese market for Bordeaux wine
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Revue Europeenne d’ Economie et Management des Services. - : Classiques Garnier. - 2497-0107. ; :11, s. 17-54
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Digital services in the field of food safety has been of increasing academix and practical interest in the past decade. Using the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) framework of analysis, this study brings empirical insights from producers and traders in the wine industry between Europe and China on the effectiveness of use of anti-counterfeit instruments and traceability systems on the wine value chain. We identify barriers to technology acceptance and use and gauge the extent consumer trust can be restored with blockchain traceability systems. The findings indicate that the use of traceability systems remain contextually dependent on business environments that support and facilitate conditions of use for digital services. The findings also indicate that traceability systems should in essence be used together with other more socially tactile services.

  • Culture from a value systems perspective : A study of CATCH, an interdisciplinary research project in fisheries and aquaculture in Norway
  • 2019
  • Bok (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • International interdisciplinary projects (IDR) are a microcosm of multicultural landscapes. Through a culture theories perspective, in particular, viewing culture as a system of explicitly and implicitly coded values, this chapter conveys the processes and results of a study that investigates and uncovers the management strategies of an IDR project, CATCH. The study of culture from a value systems approach enables a more subtle and nuanced approach to the analysis and framing of cultural heterogeneity in the context of an IDR project, beyond the often dichotomous, cultural dimensions construct. Due to the multiple actors in an IDR project, the example of CATCH illustrates a more nuanced view of cultural filters that arise from each academic discipline. Using the culture as value systems perspective, this chapter shows how multicultural landscapes and different resulting knowledges can be leveraged towards an integrated worldview when solving challenges in a globalized world with limited resources.

  • Gothenburg in Asia, Asia in Gothenburg
  • 2018
  • Bok (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Abstract Gothenburg is located on Sweden’s west coast. The sea and an international orientation beckoned for this city, where it was harbour port and home to the Swedish East India Company during the 1700s. This book is part of a city initiative called Kunskap Göteborg 2021, in celebration of Gothenburg’s 400-years jubilee that takes place in 2021. This book is a collection of narratives and insights of those who had helped build the international orientation of Gothenburg from the early 1980s, focusing specifically on Gothenburg’s past, present and future ties with Asia, vice versa. The foundational research for this book in was made possible by a stipendium from the Foundation Anna Ahrenberg, Gothenburg, Sweden. Target readership This book is for scholars and practitioners interested to get first hand insight into interview data with key individuals who helped (re-)open trade relations between Sweden and China from the early 1980s. It also traces the foundational discourse that helped build international business relations between Sweden and China from the time of the Swedish East Indiaman trade during the 1700s. Historical documents from merchants and supercargoes of Sweden’s early Far East trade indicates that Sweden had a different perspective than most other European countries with regards to how it interacted with China in international business and culture sharing. • Managing Heterochronous Socio-economic Development: Investigating the Concurrent duo Discourses of Singapore’s “Total Fertility Rate (TFR)” and “Singapore Incorporated”
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Governance. - 2224-5359. ; 4:1, s. 1-34
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The past decade has seen an increasing number of calls within the field of organization science to study the dynamics of organization developments against both historical and multiple social dimensions that influence organization evolution. While the structures and governance of future organizations can only be hypothesized, there remains a need for a trajectorial understanding in how organizations might function in future, given the current complexities of differential organizational developments within the same organization, due to the processes of globalization. The concept of heterochrony and the managing of heterochronous complexities in organization is the broad focus of this study. In particular, the study focuses on the country of Singapore and two of its national discourses, (I) Singapore’s Total Fertility Rate (TFR), the government’s “Baby Bonus Scheme” and (II) “Singapore Incorporated”, discussing how the “Baby Bonus Scheme” straddles the two seemingly differential time development of state ideologies and the extent of its success in relation to its own projected economic goals, as a means of managing heterochrony in Singapore.

  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Scholars in the product-service system (PSS) field of study have acknowledged a gap in theoretical frameworks and survey methodologies that can direct scholars and practitioners towards cohesive future methodologies. This study works with the assumption that an underlying cohesive thread in PSSs is the human element of Intent. Taking an applied linguistics methodological approach in the study of Type of Sensing and Intent, this study illustrates how Intent can provide an integral way of studying PSSs. The examples are taken from the study of the development of collaborative robot (CR) PSSs. Founded in data from CR PSSs, the method and findings act as an illustration as to how applied linguistics might contribute as research method to a deeper understanding of the study and conceptualisation of a PSS.

  • 2001
  • Ingår i: Information research. - 1368-1613. ; 6:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Being a small island and without any natural resource, Singapore depends on its human potential and investment in National Information Infrastructure (NII) in order to find its place in the competitive global world economies. From Singapore's first experience with the setting up and accessing of the Internet in 1991, the Singapore Government has expended much creative and financial energy into using information technology to spearhead Singapore's success in terms of enticing and encouraging economic growth and achieving national competitiveness on a global scale. In 1991, the Singapore government, together with the National Computer Board (NCB) currently known as the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), launched the IT 2000, with the objective of converting Singapore into an intelligent island. With many NII projects in place and the various government initiative, this study focus on the role of Singapore Government in the development of the national information infrastructure and the realisation of IT2000 vision. This investigative study delves into the role of the Singapore government in helping Singapore forge its path into the new millennium of the information world.

  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Transcontinental Strategies for Industrial Development and Economic Growth. / B. Christiansen & G. Koc (eds). - USA : IGI Global. - 1522521607 ; , s. 58-78
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Singapore ranks second after Switzerland in the Global Competitiveness Index 2015/6, placing it ahead of some advanced economies of the Nordic region. Singapore's development model has been studied mostly from an economic perspective in specific socio-political contexts. Part of the Singapore governance strategy in managing its differential (heterochronic) developmental complexity at domestic and international levels is through its national discourses. These national discourses are multileveled and targeted at different spheres of influence. This chapter brings a complementary language in international business perspective with theoretical foundations in biological evolution theory applied to state governance. It uses a four-quadrant Götheborg IV model of visualization, illustrating how Singapore's national discourses act in dialogic complementarity, bolstering state competitiveness. It shows how state development complexity is managed in Singapore's current vision of a Smart Nation, with its ambition of becoming a global first in future living in the global circular economy.

  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Analyzing the Impacts of Industry 4.0 in Modern Business Environments. - USA : IGI Global. - 9781522534686 ; , s. 283-303

    • A main challenge for academic writing for students at master thesis level is to find the right perspective from which to launch the argument of the thesis. In the context of international business (IB) studies, the eclectic theoretical paradigm of the field offers students myriad frameworks from which to frame their research questions. The purpose of this chapter is to illustrate how perspective in academic writing can be taught and learnt in a systematic manner. Taking the example of the teaching of culture theory in international business (IB) studies, this chapter illustrates how the deictic or “pointer” function of the pronoun system in language can be used to help perspective research position and research design.

  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Changing business environments due to the influence of technological advances have increased awareness amongst scholars and practitioners for a need to reperspectivise culture beyond the normative dimensional construct. This chapter discusses the relative perspectives of culture in the dimensional and emergent theoretical frameworks. The purpose is to reconcile the two frameworks towards a holistic perspective of the study of culture in the field of international business studies. In illustration of how both frameworks are needed in order to understand human behaviour in the era of Industry 4.0, the processes of firm globalisation are discussed in relation to the elements of the Uppsala model and the Götheborg IV model. This chapter provides readers with a novel means of conceptualising culture beyond the dimensional construct. The model presented in this chapter can be used to help identify gaps in knowledge with regards to culture in organisation management. Practitioners are invited to apply the model supplied in this chapter to their consultative work where applicable.

  • Ingår i: In M. Khan (ed.), Multinational Enterprise Management Strategies in Developing Countries. Hershey, PA: Business Science Reference.. - USA : IGI Global. - 1522502769 ; , s. 215-236
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This chapter contributes to the theory of a firm's globalization processes reflected in the Uppsala Globalization Process Model (UGPM). The Gotheborg IV (G4) model is introduced, mapping the knowledge zones of the UGPM in a four quadrant axis model. Using language in its meta-capacity as theory and framework of analysis the G4 model makes a distinction between the words ‘enterprise' (Hn) and ‘subsidiary' (H1), addressing the core features of firm globalization with geographically dispersed foreign subsidiaries and globally coordinated activities of manufacturing, sourcing and R&D capabilities. With the distinction between Hn and H1, the G4 model is able to present eight perspectives of the globalization process from interior and exterior to the enterprise and subsidiary. As method, this chapter will show how using the G4 model results in a richer analysis and findings from qualitative data. In this study Swedish top-level managers working in Asia show how they foster an organization culture of continuous learning and change that supports the MNE's globalization efforts.

  • Ingår i: International Journal of Cross Cultural Management. - : SAGE Publications. - 1470-5958 .- 1741-2838. ; 17:1, s. 125-135
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • © The Author(s) 2017. This contribution addresses the echoing sentiment that the function of language is not enough focused on in management as an academic discipline even as it is acknowledged that language lies at the heart of international business (IB) activities that take place in cross-cultural management (CCM) contexts. Organizations operate in contexts of uncertainty and change, finding themselves increasingly having to navigate in cross-cultural environments in the context of globalization and international management. Yet, few studies outside the field of applied linguistics (especially discourse analysis) have used language as an instrumental tool in uncovering the subtle workings of influence in organizational change. Scholastic literature in CCM suggests that language in IB is generally studied in two broad dimensions of inquiry - language as (i) object/phenomenon (nature of language) and as (ii) process/function (nature of meaning from language). Because organizational change can be difficult to define when looking at it as a broad process over time, this article addresses the latter nature of language in CCM and IB studies in illustrating how language metafunctions can be used as a methodological tool in analysing qualitative data in order to uncover Agency or actors of influence in processes of organization change in a cross-cultural working context.

  • 2018
  • Ingår i: ASTESJ Advances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal. - : ASTES Journal. - 2415-6698. ; 3:2, s. 309-318
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This study applies systemic functional linguistics (SFL) as complementary framework of analysis of technology acceptance models (TAMs). The purpose is to bridge research methodology language in international business (IB) studies and engineering management science. Currently TAMs and its consolidated version, the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) provides for a typology of one user in one context scenario. The need for the UTAUT model to account for multiple users in multiple work contexts in a single framework of analysis was foregrounded in the study of the workflow processes of a remote services business model of a European founded multinational business enterprise (MBE) with regards to its (i) intra-firm improvements in managing remote services cases, and its (ii) extra-firm selling of life cycle management remote services contracts. The Enterprise has global operations in over 100 countries, of which this study focused on its European operations of improving the quality of remote services for the marine industry. Through an application of SFL unto UTAUT, this study illustrates how multiple users in multiple contexts can be analysed simultaneously, and whose behaviours can be accounted for in a single framework of analysis. The combined SFL UTAUT model addresses the initial statisticity of the UTAUT model, whilst at the same time, expands upon current theoretical perspectives of technology use and acceptance that can be applied in practice.

  • Ingår i: In M. Khan (ed.), Multinational Enterprise Management Strategies in Developing Countries. Hershey, PA: Business Science Reference.. - USA : IGI Global. - 1522502769 ; , s. 237-259
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The typical feature of emergent economies is a slow, apparent transformation from being predominantly a home base of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to becoming more home markets for various firms that expand internationally. In this aspect, China differs from its Asian forerunners. Without question, the most rapid development in recent decades within East Asia and the global economy as a whole is the (re-)emergence of China. While most studies on growth strategies for multinational corporations from emerging economies come from the perspective of economic strategies in international business, this study offers a novel perspective by using visual semiotics as a framework of study and analysis of data. It uses theories of social semiotics borne of the traditions of linguistics to conduct a systematic analysis of the representations of China's desire to go global with their automobile industry. The company in focus is China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely) in the years between 2007 to 2011, just prior to an after its acquisition of Volvo Car Corporation (VCC).

  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Understanding the human factor becomes increasingly important in technological innovation processes. To that end, different types of knowledges are needed in order to build a more engaging work environment for future productivity. This chapter brings theoretical and empirical insight into the processes of developing software tools for computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), enhanced for cross-departmental functionality in a European founded multinational enterprise (MNE). Working with the assumption that knowledges are obtained via different perspectives, the deictic function of Pronouns is applied in the Götheborg IV (G4) model. The model shows how relative perspectives can be defined and applied in a systematic manner towards an understanding of greater work engagement for future human capital productivity. Three departments with global operations in a European enterprise is studied in how they manage human capital productivity in relation to technological advancements.

    • Current regional integration theories of neofunctionalism and intergovernmentalism study the Association for Southeast-Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Union (EU) predominantly from trade and international business perspectives. ASEAN and EU have been described as sharing “a common DNA,” yet rhetoric has been slow to translate into practical and effective collaborations. This study uses the developmental perspective of Integral Theory to study ASEAN-EU relations and their efforts as regional integrators. Official speeches from ASEAN are analyzed in order to lend deeper insight into the existing asymmetries between the two entities. The core question of the article is, why and to what extent do ASEAN and EU share “a common DNA”? The third wave of globalization enabled by digital technology, which presupposes greater regional cooperation, calls for complementary study of ASEAN-EU relations in the context of international business and international relations. © 2014, MetaIntegral Foundation. • Swedish management in Singapore: a discourse analysis study
  • 2009
  • Doktorsavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The concept of Scandinavian management as a specialized field of interest, began in the early 1980s with a variety of methods, including quantitative questionnaires, surveys, case studies and narratives within the organization. This dissertation uses discourse analysis as a tool for studying Swedish management characteristics outside of Scandinavia, mainly in Singapore. The Singapore Chinese management style is also presented and investigated as a comparative style of management to the Swedish management style in Singapore. The study hopes to shed light on how the tools provided by systemic functional linguistics can be used in discourse analysis, to study patterns of Swedish management characteristics, values and beliefs. The questions that this study hopes to address include: does there exist a Swedish management style outside of Sweden? And if yes, is it different from the Swedish management style or model in Sweden? Interviews were conducted in 2004, with 33 Scandinavian and Asian top-level managers in Swedish managed organizations based in Singapore, in order to get insight into their working lives in a cross-cultural environment. This rendered a total of about 54 hours interview time with a database of more than 260, 000 words. The coding procedures of grounded theory from Strauss and Corbin (1998) were used as a data management tool, to sort topics and identify main categories of topics that the respondents brought up during the interviews. It was also used to make more stringent the selection of texts for discourse analysis. The study found that a distinct Swedish management style existed in Swedish managed organizations in Singapore as many of the Swedes who worked in Singapore saw themselves as a ‘culture bearer’, so that they brought over values and work processes from Sweden, to Singapore. As the Swedish management style differs from the Singapore Chinese management style, cooperative adjustments and efforts at working together were also made such as finding a best practice method for doing things in the office. This study is inherently cross-disciplinary in nature, contributing not only to linguistics, but to the fields of leadership / management studies, human resource management and specifically Swedish management studies. The last chapter of this dissertation presents ideas for further discourse analytical research in the field of Swedish management studies and studies of management in a cross-cultural environment. Keywords discourse analysis, systemics functional linguistics, grounded theory, Swedish management style, Singapore Chinese management style, cross-cultural management, hierarchy, assimilation, integration, human resource management

  • The Götheborg IV Model: Addressing the Cartesian Continuum in Product-Service Innovation
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: 2016 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology (Icmit). 19-22 Sept. 2016. - : IEEE. - 9781509015009
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In recognition of an existing Cartesian perspective in practice and research of product and service as two distinct entities in product-centric MNEs, an integral perspective of the product-service innovation processes is introduced in the form of the Gotheborg IV (G4) model. Based on the assumption that the core activity of any enterprise is exchange, where the value of production is realized in its exchange, the G4 model is an applied linguistics perspective of the Uppsala model (UM) of internationalization/globalization. Key in the G4 model of product-service innovation is the visualization of the emergent, cyclic dialogic of the feedback loop as having an important role in the context of uncertainty and complexity in product-service innovation.

  • Communicating Sustainability Online : A Soft Systems Methodology and Corpus Linguistics Approach in the Example of Norwegian Seafood Companies
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: HCI in Business, Government and Organizations.. - : Springer Science and Business Media Deutschland GmbH. - 9783031360480 - 9783031360497 ; , s. 334-351
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This article presents a qualitative case study of the Norwegian seafood industry’s sustainability communication on corporate websites. The research questions focused on how sustainability is communicated, and the communication channels employed by Norwegian seafood companies. The study found that sustainability is communicated through ecological certification, awareness towards the environment and social compliance, and engagement in knowledge exchange. The study highlights the need to create standardized language and a coherent discourse for competitive advantages in ecologically value-added products and digital services. Companies can use underutilized digital resources such as podcasts and direct online sales to consumers to improve stakeholder engagement. The study suggests the direct and active involvement of consumers in designing products that consumers desire, which can increase market share for the Norwegian seafood industry. The limitations of the study are the lack of feedback from small to medium-sized companies, limiting the generalizability of the findings. The study recommends that the Norwegian seafood industry supports developing digital service resources for small and medium-sized companies to remain competitive in the long term.
