  • Structural stability and aqueous durability of Cs incorporation into BaAl2Ti6O16 hollandite
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Journal of Nuclear Materials. - : Elsevier BV. - 0022-3115 .- 1873-4820. ; 565, s. 153716-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Hollandite ceramics are well-recognized as a promising host for immobilizing radioactive cesium. In the present paper, the [BaxCsy][(Al3+,Ti3+)(2x +y)Ti-8-2x-y(4+)]O-16 (0.4 <= x, y <= 0.8) ceramics were fabricated to in-vestigate the effect of incorporated Cs on structural stability and durability of (Ba,Cs)(Al,Ti)(8)O-16 ceramics with Cs-incorporated. It was found that the sintered samples at 1250 degrees C show a pure hollandite phase with tetragonal structure (I4/m) and high Cs retention. Moreover, the synthesized (Ba,Cs)(Al,Ti)(8)O-16 ceramics exhibit an excellent aqueous stability and the normalized Cs release rate is 2.82 (+/- 0.27) x10(-3) g m(-2) d(-1) after 28 days. All these results reveal that (Ba,Cs)(Al,Ti)(8)O-16 is a promising candidate as a Cs-waste form.

  • What are the type, direction, and strength of species, community, and ecosystem responses to warming in aquatic mesocosm studies and their dependency on experimental characteristics? : A systematic review protocol
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Environmental Evidence. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 2047-2382. ; 6:1
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Mesocosm experiments have become increasingly popular in climate change research as they bridge the gap between small-scale, less realistic, microcosm experiments, and large-scale, more complex, natural systems. Characteristics of aquatic mesocosm designs (e.g., mesocosm volume, study duration, and replication) vary widely, potentially affecting the magnitude and direction of effect sizes measured in experiments. In this global systematic review we aim to identify the type, direction and strength of climate warming effects on aquatic species, communities and ecosystems in mesocosm experiments. Furthermore, we will investigate the context-dependency of the observed effects on several a priori determined effect moderators (ecological and methodological). Our conclusions will provide recommendations for aquatic scientists designing mesocosm experiments, as well as guidelines for interpretation of experimental results by scientists, policy-makers and the general public. Methods: We will conduct a systematic search using multiple online databases to gather evidence from the scientific literature on the effects of warming experimentally tested in aquatic mesocosms. Data from relevant studies will be extracted and used in a random effects meta-analysis to estimate the overall effect sizes of warming experiments on species performance, biodiversity and ecosystem functions. Experimental characteristics (e.g., mesocosm size and shape, replication-level, experimental duration and design, biogeographic region, community type, crossed manipulation) will be further analysed using subgroup analyses.

  • Achieving High Value Utilization of Bio-oil from Lignin Targeting for Advanced Lubrication
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: ES Materials & Manufacturing. - : Engineered Science Publisher. - 2578-0611 .- 2578-062X. ; 11, s. 72-80
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • High-value utilization of biomass has been driven by increasingly growing industrial demands. Herein, we offer a strategy composed of depolymerization and esterification reaction of lignin to transfer to bio-oil with high liquid yield (79.75~85.25%), which is demonstrated as a high performance lubricant. Overall, the bio-oil has the excellent lubrication properties, where a significant wear reduction of 97.6% was observed as compared with polyethylene glycol 200. Meanwhile, the more ether and less acid in bio-oil could improve the anti-wear properties. This work provides a new application of utilizing lignin in advanced lubrication systems.

  • ICGNet : An intensity-controllable generation network based on covering learning for face attribute synthesis
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Information Sciences. - New York : Elsevier. - 0020-0255 .- 1872-6291. ; 660
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Face-attribute synthesis is a typical application of neural network technology. However, most current methods suffer from the problem of uncontrollable attribute intensity. In this study, we proposed a novel intensity-controllable generation network (ICGNet) based on covering learning for face attribute synthesis. Specifically, it includes an encoder module based on the principle of homology continuity between homologous samples to map different facial images onto the face feature space, which constructs sufficient and effective representation vectors by extracting the input information from different condition spaces. It then models the relationships between attribute instances and representational vectors in space to ensure accurate synthesis of the target attribute and complete preservation of the irrelevant region. Finally, the progressive changes in the facial attributes by applying different intensity constraints to the representation vectors. ICGNet achieves intensity-controllable face editing compared to other methods by extracting sufficient and effective representation features, exploring and transferring attribute relationships, and maintaining identity information. The source code is available at https://github.com/kllaodong/-ICGNet.•We designed a new encoder module to map face images of different condition spaces into face feature space to obtain sufficient and effective face feature representation.•Based on feature extraction, we proposed a novel Intensity-Controllable Generation Network (ICGNet), which can realize face attribute synthesis with continuous intensity control while maintaining identity and semantic information.•The quantitative and qualitative results showed that the performance of ICGNet is superior to current advanced models.© 2024 Elsevier Inc.

  • Identification, Tissue Distribution, and Bioaccumulation Potential of Cyclic Perfluorinated Sulfonic Acids Isomers in an Airport Impacted Ecosystem
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Environmental Science and Technology. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 0013-936X .- 1520-5851. ; 50:20, s. 10923-10932
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The use of cyclic perfluoroalkyl acids as anticorrosive agents in hydraulic fluids remains a poorly characterized source of organofluorine compounds to the environment. Here, we investigated the presence of perfluoroethylenecyclohexanesulfonate (PFECHS) isomers in environmental samples for the first time using a combination of high resolution and tandem mass spectrometry. Five distinct peaks attributed to different isomers of PFECHS and perfluoropropylcyclopentanesulfonate (PFPCPeS) were identified in environmental samples. The sum of PFECHS and PFPCPeS isomers displayed logarithmically decreasing spatial trends in water (1.04-324 ng/L) and sediment samples (
