Forfattarnas intresse är att med dialogteoretiska och samtalsanalytiska begrepp och metoder studera dynamiken inom och mellan olika offentliga arenor. Delprojekten inriktar sig på diskurser där frågor om ansvar, säkerhet och risk, moral och politik står i fokus. Artikeln avslutas med en jämförelse mellan retorik och kommunikationsforskning.

- Installation i Vadstena kommuns museum/besökscenter i Rödtornet, under Birgittajubiléet, sommaren 2003. 13000 besökare. Installationen använde Augmented Reality teknik i kombination med video, soundscape/sång och utställningsgestaltning. Innehållet behandlar upplevelsen av en uppenbarelse samt två kvinnoöden med diametralt olika utgång, klosterorden och sinnessjukhus. Nominerad till priset "best interactive project" vid NODEM 2004 (Nordic digitalexcellence for museums, V4M/ Interactive institute)

- Boken Mörkrets Geografi utgår från en serie performativa verk av Anna Berglind vilka rör sig i spänningsfältet mellan ljus och mörker - plats, minne och glömska. Det rika bildmaterialet från glömda platser; ett gathörn, ett tunnelsystem under jord eller ett övergivet och förfallet mentalsjukhus skapar tillsammans med texterna ett prisma av reflektioner kring konst, konceptualisering och lärandeprocesser. Reflektioner kring hur man genom performativitet och social interaktion kan öppna upp för nya publika möten utanför de traditionella konstarenorna.

- This article presents the initial findings of research into how YouTube culture can become an arena for young YouTube videographers to remodel mainstream, sub-cultural, and media content (YouTube clips, music, film content, and viral memes). We juxtapose analyses from both media and child studies to look at the ways in which preferred images and notions of the “good” and idyllic childhood are re-edited into a possible critique of the prescribed Swedish childhood. Also, we look at ways in which these media-literate actors use YouTube to display their skills in both media editing and social media “savvy.” We discuss how “lay” professional competence in digital culture can be inherent in a friction between popular (children's) culture and social media production, where simultaneous prowess in both is important for how a mediatised social and cultural critique can emerge.

Making music work : Culturing youth in an institutional setting

- This thesis is based on two years of participant observation in a municipal youth club in a Swedish city suburb. In focus is a group of 14-19 year old boys and their relations to peers and to the staff of the club. Rock music playing, the activity they engage in, is studied as a part of the youth club practice, and seen as a communicative process in which relations are lived out. Two approaches are identified; "to go for it" and "to have fun" both of which become important in the boys´ musical awareness, as well as their attitude to life.The youth club is seen as a place where a particular kind of democratic dilemma is grappled with. The club has the pedagogical aim of creating meaningful leisure time on the visitors tenns, but also of disciplining them and functioning as an instrument of guidance into adult life values. Questions of power-relations and institutionalization are discussed through notions of the dialectic of control (Giddens); of authority (Sennett), and of Goffman's analysis of life within public institutions. In this setting, the complexity of power and of growing up in modem society are studied. Both groups; the staff and the visitors, are seen as jointly shaping and recreating a communicative practice through interaction, with music playing as the medium through which relations are transformedand hierarchies seemingly overturned at the same time as social control is cemented and protest limited.

- During the 20th century, the interview has evolved in such a way that it has become the dominating form for talk and text production in the mass media (i.e. in newspapers, radio, television). This book introduces the Interview Society as an innovative, provocative and challenging concept to understand the construction of news, the use of language, and the power of journalism in contemporary media society. It focuses on the journalistic interview and on the techniques for the representation of utterances, talk and conversation, and combines theories of the public sphere, news journalism, and the interview as a form of interaction. It relates discursive techniques on a micro level to institutional and cultural conditions on a macro level, with regard to journalism and the media public sphere, and takes a historically point of departure with the intention of pinning down important tendencies in the development of modern journalism during the 20th century. Without being nation-specific, it presents findings from a number of empirical studies from five different countries and various genres. The book is structured in relation to four main themes: (1) Historical perspectives, (2) Practices of interviewing and institutionalised interaction, (3) Quoting and editing, (4) New arenas and new forms of interaction.
