  • F-band resistive mixer based on heterostructure field effect transistor technology
  • 1993
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 1993 IEEE MTT-S International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. - 0149-645X. - 0780312090 ; 2, s. 787-790
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A fundamentally pumped millimeter wave resistive mixer based on an HFET technology working at F-band (90-140 GHz) is described for the first time. Nonlinear simulations have been performed for this mixer based on an specially designed double δ-doped pseudomorphic HFET device developed for this application. A minimum conversion loss between 12 to 13 dB was measured with the RF fixed at different frequencies between 108 to 114 GHz at an RF power of -13 dBm. Both theoretical and experimental results are presented in this paper.

  • Taxes and Quantity Constraints in a Model of Male Labour Supply in Sweden
  • 1997
  • Ingår i: Labour. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 1121-7081 .- 1467-9914. ; 11:1, s. 201-221
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The purpose of this study is to estimate a model of male labour supply, when agents may be subject to quantity constraints. As the data contain direct information about hours constraints, this information is used in the estimation. We also quantify the importance of such rationing for the response in the hours of work to changes in wages, income and the tax system. As it turns out, quantity constraints appear only to slightly reduce the sensitivity of the average hours of work to changes in the economic environment.

  • Estimating the perceived tax scale within a labor supply model
  • 1996
  • Ingår i: Economics Letters. - : Elsevier BV. - 0165-1765 .- 1873-7374. ; 52:1, s. 75-79
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Swedish marginal tax scale is too complex to be known in detail by individuals. This paper indicates that perceived tax scales can be estimated jointly with a labor supply equation. The differences between the true and estimated tax scales are found to be small.

  • Starting from Scratch : Implementing CDIO in a new Master of Science in Engineering
  • 2016
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • In 2015, Örebro University was granted the rights to provide a Master of Science in Engineering (5 year engineering programme). This fall we launch two programmes, in Computer Science and Industrial Economics. The basis of these programmes rests on a pedagogical approach of increasing interest, namely CDIO (Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate), which aims to provide a framework particularly suited for technical and engineering programmes.A number of non-trivial challenges were addressed when crafting a programme that conforms to the CDIO standards and guidelines. In particular, one of the more difficult tasks is to ensure that a programme in its entirety satisfies both the CDIO goals and the learning outcomes in the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance in a coherent and meaningful way. A further challenge is to educate the entire teaching core to help them adopt the model, and to guide the staff in finding proper use of CDIO within each different subject. This talk presents how these challenges were addressed in adopting CDIO during the application process and the initial implementation stages. It describes how a department in rapid development was able to anchor the concepts of the pedagogical model with its teachers and programme directors. In particular, we outline the tools and processes which were used in order to create familiarity and consensus with the teaching core responsible for the new education. The talk also describes the difficulties encountered in applying a single pedagogical model to an education, and outlines the iterative process taken in order to integrate CDIO in a new programme and within its various courses.

  • Impact of Preferences, Curricilum, and Learning Strategies on Academic Success
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Education Economics. - : Taylor & Francis. - 0964-5292 .- 1469-5782. ; 10:1, s. 41-48
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper attempts to examine a few factors characterizing preferences, curriculum, and learning strategies that influence academic success and failure. On the basis of a proportional odds model, our findings reveal that good performance by the student depends on: (i) the time spent on physical training, (ii) the subjects chosen at high school, and (iii) the study of previously given examinations as a learning strategy. The results do not support the contention that the average score at high school, preparation by reading course literature prior to lectures, and time spent studying are important variables with regard to academic achievement. Our results suggest three policy implications: (i) to encourage students to engage in some kind of physical training, (ii) to guide students regarding how they should use the previously given examinations, and (iii) to require that students do course-work on the mathematics of economics.

  • Weighing the past and the future in decision making
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: European Journal of Cognitive Psychology. ; 17:4, s. 561-575
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Prior irreversible investments of money, time, or effort referred to as sunk costs frequently lead to decisions to continue or escalation of commitment to a chosen course of action despite that this is irrational. With the aim of demonstrating that this is a special case of a more general phenomenon, two experiments were carried out employing undergraduates as participants. Experiment 1 showed for fictitious personal and business investment scenarios that both prior losses and gains (sunk outcomes) affected choices to continue or discontinue the investment. In Experiment 2 the effect of sunk outcomes was reduced although not elimi-nated by a monetary bonus that in one condition depended on the future out-comes of the second gamble in two-stage gambles, in another condition on the fu-ture returns in personal investment scenarios. In support of a more inclusive theory subsuming escalation of commitment, the decisions were affected by both past and future outcomes and both gains and losses.

  • Subcutaneous alemtuzumab vs ATG in adjusted conditioning for allogeneic transplantation: influence of Campath dose on lymphoid recovery, mixed chimerism and survival.
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Bone Marrow Transplantation. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1476-5365 .- 0268-3369. ; 37:5, s. 503-510
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Sixty-nine consecutive patients ( median age 54 years) were prospectively enrolled in a single-institution protocol for allogeneic transplantation with adjusted non-myeloablative fludarabine - melfalan-based conditioning including cyclosporin A and MMF, and one of three modes of serotherapy. Thirty-one donors (45%) were unrelated. The first cohort of 29 had ATG (Thymoglobulin 2 mg/kg x 3 days), the subsequent 26 had Campath 30 mg x 3 days subcutaneously, and the final cohort of 14 had 30 mg Campath once. The groups were similar as regards age, diagnosis and risk factors. Campath-patients had no acute toxicity, fewer days with fever and antibiotics, and required fewer transfusions than ATG-treated patients. 3-d-Campath patients showed lower lymphocyte counts from day +4, and CD4+, CD8+, CD19+ and NK cells recovered slower than in ATG-treated patients. More Campath patients developed mixed chimerism that required DLI. 3-d-Campath induced more serious and opportunistic infections than ATG, which resulted in a greater non-relapse mortality and an impaired overall survival despite a low tumor-related mortality. The change of the Campath dosing schedule to one dose abrogated the deleterious effect of 3-d-Campath on immune recovery, severe infections and survival. Subcutaneous Campath is simple and provides strong immune suppression with no early toxicity, but dose limitation to 30 mg once is recommended.

  • Detection of glycoprotein receptors on blotting membranes by binding of live bacteria and amplification by growth.
  • 1995
  • Ingår i: Analytical biochemistry. - : Elsevier BV. - 0003-2697. ; 224:1, s. 390-4
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Conditions have been adapted for detecting bacteria bound to glycoprotein receptors on blotting membranes using a self-enhancing detection method based on bacterial growth. Neutrophil plasma membrane proteins, mediating adherence of mannose-binding type-1-fimbriated Escherichia coli and concanavalin A (Con A) to intact human neutrophils, were separated by SDS-PAGE and transferred onto a polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) membrane. The PVDF membrane was immersed in a suspension of mannose-binding type-1-fimbriated E. coli, and after repeated washings, bound bacteria were allowed to multiply into bacterial colonies by placing the membrane on a solid nutrient substratum. About one major and eight minor glycoproteins, some of which also were detected by Con A, selectively induced colony formation in a mannose-inhibitable fashion. Binding of [35S]methionine metabolically labeled E. coli to PVDF membranes produced a virtually identical binding pattern, demonstrating further the accuracy of this self-enhancing detection method which is rapid, simple, and sensitive and avoids radioisotopes.

  • Escherichia coli-induced activation of neutrophil NADPH-oxidase: lipopolysaccharide and formylated peptides act synergistically to induce release of reactive oxygen metabolites.
  • 1995
  • Ingår i: Infection and immunity. - 0019-9567. ; 63:12, s. 4606-12
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The prevailing view of neutrophil NADPH-oxidase activation during interaction with bacteria is that the production of toxic oxygen metabolites should be directed into the phagosome containing the engulfed prey. However, in this report we show that a common Escherichia coli strain, HB101, may induce a release of neutrophil oxygen metabolites to the extracellular milieu. This phenomenon is dependent on three factors: (i) the mobilization (upregulation) of neutrophil secretory vesicles prior to interaction with the bacteria, (ii) soluble bacterial factors binding to the formylmethionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine receptor and tentatively identified as formylated peptides, and (iii) a bacterium-associated priming factor identified as lipopolysaccharide.

  • A conceptualization of task dimensions affecting escalation of commitment
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: European Journal of Cognitive Psychology. ; 17:6, s. 835-858
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • People frequently continue an investment despite a negative outcome or sunk cost. Such irrational persistence in a losing course of action has been termed es-calation of commitment. Although several explanations of escalation of commit-ment have been proposed, none of them accounts for all determinants that have been empirically demonstrated. Based on a review of previous research, a concep-tualization is introduced of how escalation of commitment is affected by four task dimensions: type and non-transparency of decision goal, non-transparency of sunk costs, time course of sunk costs, and accountability. An alternative more in-clusive theory that subsumes escalation of commitment is offered as an alterna-tive that may be developed to account for the effects of the task dimensions.

  • A stochastic analysis of the 4 x 100 m relay
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: International journal of sports science & coaching. - : Sage Publications. - 1747-9541 .- 2048-397X.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The baton exchanges are undoubtedly the most critical parts of the 4 x 100 m relay race. Timing of the outgoing runner is critical. In this paper we analyze the race as a minimization problem under uncertainty. We formulate a stochastic model in which the outgoing runner at the baton exchange cannot perfectly assess the incoming runner's exact location relatively a checkmark position, and therefore potentially misjudges the right moment to start running. Also, the team members' daily shape is subject to uncertainty. To understand the effect of these two random variables-incoming runners' distance to checkmark and the daily shape of the running team-we conduct a simulation study to investigate the trade-off between the team's expected race time and their probability of being disqualified due to overrunning the takeover zone. Conditioning on a low disqualification probability, the difference in expected race time is shown to be substantial between teams with different variation in distance assessment and forecasting running performance, respectively.

  • Are Some Athletes More Cognitive Skilled than Others when Choosing their Opponents in Skiing-Sprint Elimination Tournaments?
  • 2022
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The study analyzes data from world cup cross-country skiing sprint elimination tournaments for men and women in 2015-2020. In these tournaments prequalified athletes sequentially choose in which of five quarterfinal heats they want to compete. Due to a time constraint on the day the tournament is held, the recovery time between the elimination heats varies. This implies a clear advantage for the athlete to race in an early rather than in a late quarterfinal to increase the chances of being successful in a possible final. Given that athletes seek to maximize their expected achieved world cup points when choosing quarterfinal, a simple model predicts that higher ranked athletes prefer to compete in early quarterfinals, despite facing expected harder competition. The result is consistent with our empirical analysis of the data. We also develop two estimation methods to investigate whether some athletes are found to be more tactical skilled in their decision making. Our estimates indicate that twelve out of 115 athletes have made choices having an expected positive effect on their performance in terms of achieved world cup points. For 22 athletes the effect is expected to be negative. The estimated individual effects ranges from -3 points to +4 points

  • Choosing Opponents in Skiing Sprint Elimination Tournaments
  • 2020
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • In this study we analyse data from world cup cross-country skiing sprint elimination tournaments for men and women in 2015-2020. Instead of being assigned a quarter final according to a seeding scheme, prequalified athletes choose themselves in sequential order in which of five quarterfinals to compete. Due to a time constrainton the day the competition is held, the recovery time between the knockout heats varies. This implies a clear advantage for the athlete to race in an early rather than in a late quarterfinal to maximize her probability of reaching the podium. The purpose of the paper is to analyse the athletes’ choices facing the trade-off between recovery time and expected degree of competition when choosing in which quarterfinal to compete. We find empirical support for the prediction that higher ranked athletes from the qualification round prefer to compete in early quarterfinals, despite facing expected harder competition. Nevertheless, our results also suggest that athletes underestimate the value of choosing an early quarterfinal. In addition, we propose a seeding scheme capturing the fundamental disparity across quarterfinals using the estimates from a logistic regression model.

  • Escalation of commitment with transparent future outcomes
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Experimental Psychology. ; 52:1, s. 67-73
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A frequent case of irrational decision making is the tendency to escalate com-mitment to a chosen course of action after unsuccessful prior investments of money, effort, or time (sunk costs). In previous research it is argued that escala-tion does not occur when future outcomes and alternative investments are trans-parent. Inconsistent with this argument, in an experiment in which undergradu-ates were presented fictitious investment problems with sunk costs, escalation was demonstrated when full information was given about investment alterna-tives and estimates of future returns. Thus, it is indicated that people may esca-late despite knowing that it will not make them economically better off. A more comprehensive understanding of escalation requires disentangling peoples non-economic reasons for escalation.

  • Pigs in Space:Is Miss Piggy Going in for Final Landing? A Statistical Analysis of the Game Pass the Pigs®
  • 2020
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The game Pass the Pigs® offers students in statistics to practice a lot of statistical concepts andmethods in a coherent way. In this paper a probability model is derived based on assumptionsof the data generating process. A previously suggested strategy of maximizing the expectedscore in each round is adapted to the model. Adopting this strategy requires estimating the scoreof accumulated points, where to stop rolling the pigs and pass them on to the next player, as afunction of unknown parameters in the model. Point and interval estimators for the mentionedaccumulated score are derived using the maximum likelihood method as well as the Deltamethod and Bootstrap methods. Data from an experiment is used to testing model assumptionsand to get point and interval estimates.

  • Social comparison and consumer behavior: When feeling richer or poorer than others is more important than being it
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Journal of Applied Social Psychology. ; 35:6, s. 1206-1222
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The present study investigates how households social comparisons of their eco-nomic situation affect purchase decisions. In structured telephone interviews, participants (n = 109) answered questions about purchases of durable goods and groceries. In line with the hypothesis, social comparisons had an effect on pur-chase decisions of durable goods when controlling for actual economic situation. Households who considered themselves to be worse off economically than others reported fewer purchases of durable goods, perceived the impact on their econ-omy of their latest purchase to be greater, and planned purchases more carefully than households who considered themselves to be better off economically than others. Also in line with the hypothesis, for purchases of groceries the house-holds actual economic situation was more important than social comparisons.

  • Testing and estimation in labour supply and duration models
  • 1996
  • Doktorsavhandling (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Estimation and testing in labour supply and unemployment duration models are studied. In the first two papers estimation techniques designed to account for quantity constraints and perceived tax scales are developed, while the remaining three papers focus on specification tests. In Paper [1] we estimate a model of male labour supply incorporating direct information on individuals perceived hours restrictions. The effect of rationing for the response in the hours of work to changes in the economic environment is found to be small. The commonly used assumption that individuals know the tax scale in full detail when deciding on labour supply is relaxed in Paper [2]. It is shown how perceived tax scales can be estimated jointly with the structural parameters in a labour supply function. Based on Swedish data from 1980 differences between true and estimated perceived tax scales are found to be small.Paper [3] surveys different approaches to testing endogeneity in micro-econometric models. We focus on the linear model when the explanatory power is low. Extensions to a nonlinear labour supply model are briefly discussed. Monte Carlo experimens shown that the power of the tests are unacceptably low for low R2-values. An empirical labour supply model illustrates. In Paper [4] a Öagrange Multiplier (LM) test for normality in censored regressions is derived against the generalized log-gamma distribution. The test statistic coincides with the skewness part of previously suggested LM and conditional moment (CM) tests. The small sample performance of the test is examined and compares fabourably to an alternative test.A correctly specified distribution is a crucial assumption for consistent estimation in duration models. In Paper [5] LM tests for exponential and Weibull duration distributions are derived against the generalized gamma distribution. Small sample properties of the tests are examined and compared to a CM test. Using an empirical unemployment duration model estimated with Swedish data as an illustration we can not reject exponentially distributed durations.

    • This paper derives a Lagrange Multiplier test for normality in censored regressions. The test is derived against the generalized log-gamma distribution, in which normal is a special case. The resulting test statistic coincides to some extent with previously suggested score and conditional moment tests. Estimation of the variance is performed by using the matrix of second order derivatives in order to get an easy to use test statistic. Small sample performance of the test is studied and compared to other tests by Monte Carlo experiments.

  • The economics of meaning
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Nordic Journal of Political Economy. ; :30, s. 61-75
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper we draw attention to an important motive the desire for meaning that drive considerable human behavior and economic activity, but has been largely ignored by economists. We distinguish four interpretations of meaning that differ in the degree to which they are amenable to modeling using the standard economic tools of utility maximization. These four interpretations are, in decreasing order of their amenability to modeling in conventional terms: (1) meaning as a resolution of preferences; (2), meaning as an extension of oneself either socially or temporally; (3) meaning as an act of making sense of ones life; and (4) meaning as an assertion of free will. Drawing upon psychology and literature we analyze implications of these four interpretations of meaning for economics.

  • The Strategic Jump – The Order Effect on Winning “The Final Three” in Long Jump Competitions
  • 2022
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The tournament rules for long jump competitions have changed in recent years. Today, only the three athletes with the best jumps from the five initial attempts are qualified to make an additional sixth jump – a format called The Final Three. In the first implemented version of The Final Three, the top athletes sequentially make one final jump, starting with the athlete ranked third place from the initial attempts. The athlete with the longest jump in this sixth attempt wins the competition, irrespective of achieved results in previous attempts. In this study, we analyze the effect of the athletes’ jump order on the probability of winning the competition within this first implemented version of The Final Three. We derive the final’s symmetric subgame perfect equilibrium and compute the corresponding equilibrium winning probabilities, given the values assigned to the distributional parameters. The modelling of the game is preceded by a development of a stochastic model for the outcome in long jumping. An athlete affects the distribution of the outcome by choosing where to start her approach run. Our results indicate a last mover advantage, albeit small. The athlete jumping last, wins the final with a probability 0.35, followed by the athlete jumping second with a probability 0.33 to win the final.

  • Bryophyte community assembly on young land uplift islands : dispersal and habitat filtering assessed using species traits
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Journal of Biogeography. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 0305-0270 .- 1365-2699. ; 46:10, s. 2188-2202
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Aim: To assess habitat filtering and dispersal limitation in spore plant community assembly using bryophytes on recently emerged land uplift islands as study system. Location Gulf of Bothnia, northern Europe. Taxa Bryophytes, including the spore plant phyla Bryophyta (mosses) and Marchantiophyta (liverworts). Methods: The species compositions of 20 coastal land uplift islands differing in age, area, connectivity and habitat composition were recorded in the field. In addition, we compiled a list of the regional species pool (446 species) and gathered data on species traits related to habitat affiliations (substrate, light, moisture, and pH) and dispersal capacity (regional abundance, spore size, sporophyte frequency, sexual system, vegetative propagules). For the 420 species with available trait data, we used multivariate generalized linear models to compare trait effects on species occurrence probabilities on the islands. Results: Occurrence probabilities depended strongly on habitat affiliations. In addition, occurrence probabilities were lower for predominantly asexual species than for sexual species and for regionally rare than for regionally abundant species. Having specialized asexual propagules increased occurrence probabilities, but compensated only partly for the reductions in asexual species. No effect of the size of sexually produced spores was detected. Comparison of trait effects across island size and connectivity gradients revealed (a) reduced habitat filtering on larger islands and (b) decreasing negative effects of being predominantly asexual with increasing island connectivity. Conclusions: Both habitat filtering and dispersal capacities affect the community assembly of spore plants on land uplift islands. Asexual mosses and liverworts show landscape scale (<= 10 km) dispersal limitation. The weak or absent relationships between island connectivity and the effects of dispersal traits suggest that colonization is regulated mainly by habitat availability and the abundance of each species in a "regional spore rain" from which colonists are recruited.

  • 2007
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Two studies examined the role of values in behavioural reactions to environmental policy measures. Respondents were 118 undergraduate students. The first study was aimed at testing a new measure of value activation. Ostensibly participating in a study concerning semantic memory, participants were presented with a list of value words to remember. They were then asked to fill in an impression formation test. As expected, the value words significantly influenced the results on the test for two out of three values. The second study investigates the role of values in reactions to policy measures in a social dilemma game, firstly by measuring basic value priorities, and secondly by measuring how policy measures activate values in the situation. The results showed no support for the impact of values on behaviour in the social dilemma game.

    • Student achievements are expected to be affected by both educational activities and learning during a course and previous teaching and learning, and earlier eligibility requirements. Using data from a quasi-experimental retrospective study, we estimated the effect on exam scores in an intermediate course in statistical theory from both earlier eligibility requirements, the realignment of a prerequisite course in introductory statistics and students’ characteristics. We found that success in intermediate statistics was explained by the realignment and eligibility requirements in Mathematics, and also by the intersection between gender and foreign background.

    • InAlAs/InGaAs HFETs having very high indium content (80 and 100%) in the channel have been fabricated on GaAs and electrically characterized. The extrinsic transconductance were 310 mS/mm (560 mS/mm at 77 K), and the saturation current were 700 mA/mm (600 mA/mm at 77 K) for an InAs channel. The value of fT and fmaxfor this device were measured to be 80 GHz and 50 GHz, respectively. The In0.8Ga 0.2As channel material had extrinsic transconductance of 320 mS/mm (470 mS/mm at 77 K), and the saturation current were 520 mA/mm (440 mA/mm at 77K). The value of fT and fmaxfor this device were measured to be 80 GHz and 50 GHz, respectively

  • Momentum trading, disposition effects, and prediction of future share price: An experimental study of multiple reference points in responses to short- and long-term return trends
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Applied Financial Economics. - Bingley, UK: Emerald : Bingley, UK: Emerald. ; , s. 595-610
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Returns of equities tend to exhibit momentum in the short to medium term and reversals in the longer term. While presenting results partly supporting such findings, we demonstrate that investors rely on multiple reference points in their trading behaviour. In particular it is shown that the interaction between long- and short-run returns may have important explanatory value for investment decisions. Predictions of future stock prices furthermore tend to be positively biased when evaluated against trading patterns, while loss aversion may drive investors to sometimes act against their beliefs about market sentiments. Implications for market responses to price movements are discussed.

  • Soap-film coating : High-speed deposition of multilayer nanofilms
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Scientific Reports. - Nature Publishing Group : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 2045-2322. ; 3, s. Art. no. 1477-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The coating of thin films is applied in numerous fields and many methods are employed for the deposition of these films. Some coating techniques may deposit films at high speed; for example, ordinary printing paper is coated with micrometre-thick layers of clay at a speed of tens of meters per second. However, to coat nanometre thin films at high speed, vacuum techniques are typically required, which increases the complexity of the process. Here, we report a simple wet chemical method for the high-speed coating of films with thicknesses at the nanometre level. This soap-film coating technique is based on forcing a substrate through a soap film that contains nanomaterials. Molecules and nanomaterials can be deposited at a thickness ranging from less than a monolayer to several layers at speeds up to meters per second. We believe that the soap-film coating method is potentially important for industrial-scale nanotechnology.

  • W-band subharmonically pumped resistive mixer based on pseudomorphic heterostructure field effect transistor technology
  • 1993
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of the 1993 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest. - 0149-645X. - 0780312090 ; 1, s. 341-344
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper describes the first subharmonically pumped resistive mixer (SPRM) based on HFETs, operating in the W-band (75-110 GHz). Two HFET devices, specially designed for this application, were integrated together with a coupler, 180° phase shifter, and an IF-filter. Both theoretical and experimental results are presented in this paper. A minimum conversion loss of about 22 dB was experimentally obtained at an LO-power of 10 dBm.
