  • Towards Blockchain-based Multi-Agent Robotic Systems : Analysis, Classification and Applications
  • 2019
  • Annan publikation (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Decentralization, immutability and transparency make of Blockchain one of the most innovative technology of recent years. This paper presents an overview of solutions based on Blockchain technology for multi-agent robotic systems, and provide an analysis and classification of this emerging field. The reasons for implementing Blockchain in a multi-robot network may be to increase the interaction efficiency between agents by providing more trusted information exchange, reaching a consensus in trustless conditions, assessing robot productivity or detecting performance problems, identifying intruders, allocating plans and tasks, deploying distributed solutions and joint missions. Blockchain-based applications are discussed to demonstrate how distributed ledger can be used to extend the number of research platforms and libraries for multi-agent robotic systems.

  • Identifying HCI patterns for the support of participatory enterprise modeling on multi-touch tables
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: The practice of enterprise modeling. - Cham : Springer. - 9783030351502 - 9783030351519 ; , s. 118-133
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper deals with the question of how software enabling participatory enterprise modeling on a multi-touch table should be designed. We will present a pre-selection of existing HCI patterns addressing the requirements which come along with collaboratively creating enterprise models on a shared workspace. Moreover, we examined a software prototype based on a task model and video analysis. The videos show participatory modeling sessions and give hint on frequent activities and deficiencies of the prototype. Based on our results, we will give recommendations of HCI patterns which should be applied when designing software tools for participatory enterprise modeling on multi-touch tables.

  • Business Community Creation Based on Competence Management
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Collaboration and the Knowledge Economy. - Amsterdam : IOS Press. - 9781586039240 ; , s. 1085-1092
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Business communities are networked organisations with members from different industries aiming at coordinating their activities for production of the final product/service. Forming a network of companies requires “understanding” of the different companies’ organisational competences. Competence management can help solving this task. This paper starts with presenting our earlier work in competence management projects aimed at supporting creation of business networks. Three cases are introduced: formation of business relationships with developing countries, competence supply in flexible supply networks, and collaborative product innovation. Based on experiences from these projects, competence management requirements for business community creation are identified and a conceptual framework for supporting the identified requirements is proposed. This framework considers competence management as an essential part of participation in business communities and conceptually integrates organisational and individual competence development. Enterprise models can be employed for supporting competence management and competence development in business community within the framework.

  • Cloud-Based Driver Monitoring System Using a Smartphone
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: IEEE Sensors Journal. - : IEEE-INST ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS INC. - 1530-437X .- 1558-1748. ; 20:12, s. 6701-6715
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The paper presents an approach and case study of a distributed driver monitoring system. The system utilizes smartphone sensors for detecting dangerous states for a driver in a vehicle. We use a mounted smartphone on a vehicle windshield directed towards the drivers face tracked by the front-facing camera. Using information from camera video frames as well as other sensors, we determine drowsiness, distraction, aggressive driving, and high pulse rate dangerous states that can lead to road accidents. We propose a cloud system architecture to capture statistics from vehicle drivers, analyze it and personalize the smartphone application for the driver. The cloud service provides reports on driver trips as well as statistics to developers. This allows to monitor and improve the system by developing modules for personification and taking into account context situation. We identified statistically that the driver eye closeness is related to the light brightness and drowsiness recognition should be adjusted accordingly.

  • Methodology and Mobile Application for Driver Behavior Analysis and Accident Prevention
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: IEEE transactions on intelligent transportation systems (Print). - : IEEE-INST ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERS INC. - 1524-9050 .- 1558-0016. ; 21:6, s. 2427-2436
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper presents a methodology and mobile application for driver monitoring, analysis, and recommendations based on detected unsafe driving behavior for accident prevention using a personal smartphone. For the driver behavior monitoring, the smartphones cameras and built-in sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope, GPS, and microphone) are used. A developed methodology includes dangerous state classification, dangerous state detection, and a reference model. The methodology supports the following drivers online dangerous states: distraction and drowsiness as well as an offline dangerous state related to a high pulse rate. We implemented the system for Android smartphones and evaluated it with ten volunteers.

  • Ontology-Based Competence Management for Team Configuration
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Holonic and Multi-Agent Systems for Manufacturing. - Berlin : Springer. - 9783540744788 ; , s. 401-410
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • When manufacturers, distributors and dealers need to collaborate, they form production networks because this provides significant advantages in production variety, flexibility and lead time. Production processes in such networks often spawn different specific tasks that are to be solved by the network members. This requires creation of a team able to tackle the identified problem. When dealing with multiple organizations and multiple processes within a complicated production network, trying to find a member that has required competence can be a laborious, time-consuming process. Developing and main-taining competence profiles of all the relevant parties associated with produc-tion can significantly reduce the time. The paper proposes an approach to team configuration based on competence profiles. The approach utilizes such tech-nologies as ontology management, context management and profiling. Using ontological representation makes it possible to identify those team members who are best suited for the task by ontology matching.

  • Digital signage and targeted advertisement based on personal preferences and digital business models
  • 2017
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Digital signage in general refers to the provision of content (advertisements, news, assistance) on electronic scoreboards or large displays in places where many people are present or passing by. The more this content is expected to be tailored for specific user groups, the more context information is required, like, e.g., the preferences or profiles of target users or user groups. The ideal digital signage solution would be able to provide individualized content for the audience consuming the information at any time: if only one person is present, the content would be personalized for this person; if a group of persons is present the demand of all should be met. Based on a digital signage solution for elevator doors, the paper investigates the intersecting of preferences as a contribution to determine the most relevant content for a group of users. This intersection of preferences serves as a basis for new business models for interactive elevator digital signage. The main contributions of the paper are (1) an industrial case of digital business model innovation motivating contextual digital signage, (2) a technical approach for intersecting personal preferences, and (3) a methodical approach for digital business model innovation.
