  • Open-Digital-Industrial and Networking pilot lines using modular components for scalable production - ODIN project approach
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Procedia CIRP. - : Elsevier BV. - 2212-8271. ; , s. 162-167
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • While robots have very well proven their flexibility and efficiency in mass production and are recognized as the production resource of the future, their adoption in lower volume, diverse environment is heavily constrained. The main reason for this is the high integration and deployment complexity that overshadows the performance benefits of this technology. This paper presents the vision of ODIN European funded project which is to strengthen the EU production companies' trust in utilizing advanced robotics, by demonstrating that novel robot-based production systems are not only technically feasible, but also efficient and sustainable for immediate introduction at the shopfloor. To achieve that, ODIN brings together, by means of hardware and software, the latest technological advancements in the fields of a) collaborating robots and human robot collaborative workplaces, b) autonomous robotics and AI based task planning, c) mobile robots and reconfigurable tooling, d) Digital Twins and Virtual Commissioning and e) Service Oriented Robotics Integration and Communication Architectures. ODIN will provide a systematic approach for integrating these technologies under modular and reconfigurable large-scale robotic pilots. The performance of these robotic pilots will be tested and validated in three case studies, from the automotive, the white goods and the aeronautics industry.

  • The ASSISTANT project: AI for high level decisions in manufacturing
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Production Research. - : Taylor & Francis. - 0020-7543 .- 1366-588X. ; 61:7, s. 2288-2306
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper outlines the main idea and approach of the H2020 ASSISTANT (LeArning and robuSt deciSIon SupporT systems for agile mANufacTuring environments) project. ASSISTANT is aimed at the investigation of AI-based tools for adaptive manufacturing environments, and focuses on the development of a set of digital twins for integration with, management of, and decision support for production planning and control. The ASSISTANT tools are based on the approach of extending generative design, an established methodology for product design, to a broader set of manufacturing decision making processes; and to make use of machine learning, optimisation, and simulation techniques to produce executable models capable of ethical reasoning and data-driven decision making for manufacturing systems. Combining human control and accountable AI, the ASSISTANT toolsets span a wide range of manufacturing processes and time scales, including process planning, production planning, scheduling, and real-time control. They are designed to be adaptable and applicable in a both general and specific manufacturing environments.

  • PCM1 is necessary for focal ciliary integrity and is a candidate for severe schizophrenia
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Nature communications. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 2041-1723. ; 11:1, s. 5903-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The neuronal primary cilium and centriolar satellites have functions in neurogenesis, but little is known about their roles in the postnatal brain. We show that ablation of pericentriolar material 1 in the mouse leads to progressive ciliary, anatomical, psychomotor, and cognitive abnormalities. RNAseq reveals changes in amine- and G-protein coupled receptor pathways. The physiological relevance of this phenotype is supported by decreased available dopamine D2 receptor (D2R) levels and the failure of antipsychotic drugs to rescue adult behavioral defects. Immunoprecipitations show an association with Pcm1 and D2Rs. Finally, we sequence PCM1 in two human cohorts with severe schizophrenia. Systematic modeling of all discovered rare alleles by zebrafish in vivo complementation reveals an enrichment for pathogenic alleles. Our data emphasize a role for the pericentriolar material in the postnatal brain, with progressive degenerative ciliary and behavioral phenotypes; and they support a contributory role for PCM1 in some individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia.
