  • Dyster svävfluga åter i farten i Dalarna
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Fauna och flora. - 0014-8903. ; 102:3, s. 50-54
  • Tidskriftsartikel (populärvet., debatt m.m.)abstract
    • Villa occulata was found in a bog in the province of Dalarna, Sweden in 2005 and 2006. Extended search for the species in 2007 showed it to be regularly present in similar mires in the same area. This indicates that the species is resident in Sweden and opens the possibility for further studies of its poorly known distribution and biology. The species seems to be confined to bogs which may explain why it has gone largely unnoticed. The paper summarizes the present state of knowledge.

  • A new species of wolf spider from the Pyrenees, with remarks on other species in the Pardosa pullata-group (Araneae, Lycosidae)
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Zootaxa. - : Magnolia Press. - 1175-5326 .- 1175-5334. ; 1650, s. 25-40
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Pardosa pyrenaica sp. n. is described based on material from the Pyrenees (Andorra, France and Spain). This species belongs in the Pardosa pullata-group, members of which are characterised, inter alia, by having a tegular apophysis consisting of two membranously connected sclerites. Pardosa pyrenaica sp. n. and P. pullata (Clerck) share comparatively short legs, notably the first two leg pairs, in comparison to other species in the pullata-group. Moreover, the first two pairs of legs in these two species are furnished with an abundance of scopulate hairs (less developed in the female sex). Males of the two species differ notably in the shape of the embolus while the females differ by the course of the receptacula and usually by proportions in the shape of the epigyne although there is some overlap due to morphological variation. The restricted elongation in final instar legs and the abundance of scopulate hairs in the anterior two pairs of legs are associated with traits in the precopulatory behaviour, which is described for both species.

  • Fixation of Lycosa fidelis =. Pickard-Cambridge, 1872 as the type species for the genus Wadicosa Zyuzin, 1985 (Araneae: Lycosiadae), with a redescription of the species
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Contributions to Natural History. - Bern. - 1660-9972. ; 12, s. 813-828
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The name Lycosa or Pardosa venatrix has been used since Simon in 1882 to denote a widespread Palearctic species. The nominal species Lycosa venatrix Lucas, 1846 was originally designed as the type species for the genus Wadicosa Zyuzin, 1985. It has, however, been recognized that the species long known as venatrix was misidentified: the species so named by Lucas is evidently not a species of Wadicosa. Therefore, we now fix Lycosa fidelis O. P.-Cambridge, 1872, the species actually involved in the misidentification, as the type species for Wadicosa. An emended diagnosis for the genus Wadicosa is given, as well as a redescription of W. fidelis. The presence of some hitherto unrecorded structures in the male palp is emphasized. A hypothetic view on the mating mechanism in W. fidelis is presented.

  • Species of Wadicosa (Araneae, Lycosidae): a new species close to W.quadrifera (Gravely) from the Western Ghats, India
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Zootaxa. - : Magnolia Press. - 1175-5326 .- 1175-5334. ; 4300:2, s. 295-300
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The wolf spider species Wadicosa ghatica sp. nov. is described on material of both sexes from the states of Karnataka and Kerala in India. The species is morphologically close to W. quadrifera (Gravely, 1924), a widespread species from Sri Lanka and southern India. For comparison, the copulatory organs of both species are illustrated in detail. The males of both species are characterized by a corkscrew-like embolus which exhibits species-specificity in details of configuration. The embolus shape is unique to these two species.

  • Species of Wadicosa (Araneae, Lycosidae): a new species from Madagascar
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Zootaxa. - : Magnolia Press. - 1175-5326 .- 1175-5334. ; 4263:3, s. 594-597
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Since establishing the wolf spider genus Wadicosa Zyuzin, 1985 (Zyuzin 1985), eleven species have been accepted in it, either by transfer from Lycosa Latreille, 1804 or Pardosa C.L. Koch, 1847 or by original designation (WSC 2017). However, according to Kronestedt (1987), additional species wait to be formally transferred to Wadicosa. The genus is restricted to the Old World, with one species, Wadicosa jocquei Kronestedt, 2015, recently described from Madagascar and surrounding islands.

  • Species of Wadicosa (Araneae, Lycosidae): transfer of two species from Pardosa and description of three new species from Africa
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: European journal of taxonomy. - : Museum National D'Histoire Naturelle. - 2118-9773. ; 132, s. 1-19
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Pardosa benadira Caporiacco, 1940 is redescribed, including the hitherto unknown female. The species is here transferred to the genus Wadicosa Zyuzin, 1985. Previously known only from its type locality in Somalia, additional localities for P. benadira in Somalia and Kenya are given. Male and female W. cognata sp. nov. (Kenya: Lake Magadi), male and female W. jocquei sp. nov. (Comoros Islands, Aldabra, Madagascar and Mauritius) and female W. russellsmithi sp. nov. (Mauritius) are described. Pardosa oncka Lawrence, 1927, widely distributed in Africa and redescribed by Kronestedt in 1987, is formally transferred to the genus Wadicosa and new records given.

  • Studies on species of Holarctic Pardosa groups (Araneae, Lycosidae). III. Redescriptions of Pardosa algens (Kulczynski), P. septentrionalis (Westring), and P. sodalis Holm
  • 1986
  • Ingår i: Entomologica Scandinavica. - : Brill. - 0013-8711. ; 17:2, s. 215-234
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Three Pardosa species assigned to the modica group are redcscribed and illustrated: P. algens (Kulczynski) (with P. johanseni Gertsch and P. townsendi Gertsch placed as junior synonyms) from northern Siberia and arctic North America; P. septentrionalis (Westring) from Scandinavia and northern Euro-Russia into NW Siberia; and P. sodalis Holm (with P. bargusinensis Šternbergs placed as junior synonym) from widely separated localities in Siberia and NW North America (Alaska, Yukon). Geographical variation is noted in P. algens but infraspecific taxa are not formally adopted. Some reflections on the distribution of wolf spiders in arctic Nearctic are presented.

  • Studies on species of Holarctic Pardosa groups (Araneae, Lycosidae). VI. On the identity of Pardosa luciae Tongiorgi with notes on P. trailli (O. P.-Cmbridge) and some other species in the P. nigra-group
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Denisia. - Linz. - 1608-8700. ; 12, s. 281-290
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The identity of Pardosa luciae Tongiorgi, said to occur in the Swiss Alps, is discussed. It is argued that the description was based on a misplaced male palp of the Nearctic species P. uintana Gertsch. Consequently, P. luciae is removed from current synonymy with the European species P. trailli (O. P.-Cambridge) which is known from Britain and Scandinavia (distribution meapped). Within the P. nigra group of species, P. trailli (with Lycosa carnifex Collett here placed as junior synonym), P. eiseni (Thorell) and P. uintana constitute a close group of species sharing a helical configuraton of the apical part of the embolus. Characteristics of these species and of P. giebeli (Pavesi), endemic to the Central European Alps, are illustrated.
