  • What Do Agile Teams Find Important for their Success?
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: 2018 25th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC). - : IEEE. - 9781728119700
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Although the general benefits of agile methods have been shown, it is not always clear what makes the application of agile successful or not in a company. With this motivation, we investigate agile success factors, particularly from the viewpoint of teams. We conduct in-company surveys to collect and rank agile team success factors, comparing these results with success factors found in the literature. Our results introduce new success factors not previously discussed in related work. The findings emphasize the importance of team environment, team spirit, and team capability as opposed to previous work which emphasizes project management process and customer involvement. These findings can help find issues and improve the performance of agile teams.

  • 1,3-HYDRON TRANSFER IN SOME 5-SUBSTITUTED AND 7-SUBSTITUTED 1-METHYLINDENES - ENANTIOSELECTIVITIES AND ENANTIOMER-DEPENDENT KINETIC ISOTOPE EFFECTS
  • 1995
  • Ingår i: JOURNAL OF PHYSICAL ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. - 0894-3230. ; 8:6, s. 400-406
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Base-catalysed substrate-enantioselective 1,3-hydron transfer (kinetic resolution) was studied in the indene system. A series of 1-methylindenes substituted in the aromatic ring [5-methoxy- (2), 5-fluoro- (3), 5-nitro- (4) and 7-nitro (5)] and 1-methylindene (1) were employed as substrates. The rate constants, the enantioselectivities and the kinetic isotope effects (KIEs) for the enantioselective reactions [(k(H)/k(D))(+) and (k(H)/k(D))(-)] were determined at 20 degrees C using (+)-(8R, 9S)-dihydroquinidine as chiral catalyst in the solvent o-dichlorobenzene. The rate constants vary according to the electronic effects of the substituents, The primary deuterium KIE, ranging from 4 . 73 [for (+)-(S)-2] to 11 . 3 [for (-)-(R)-5], is correlated with the rate constants as expected on the basis of the Melander-Westheimer postulate, The introduction of a substituent in the aromatic ring decreases the enantioselectivity, All compounds except 5 show the same sense of the enantioselectivity [k(+)/k(-)>1; all substrates used are (+)-(S)/(-)-(R)], The enantiomer dependence of the KIE is most pronounced for 1 [(k(H)/k(D))(+) = 5 . 71 and (k(H)/k(D))(-) = 6 . 46] and vanishes for the most acidic substrates (4 and 5).

  • Examina och utbildning inom svensk odontologisk forskning
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Tandläkartidn. ; 95:9, s. 54-59

  • Clinical Effectiveness of Liraglutide vs Sitagliptin on Glycemic Control and Body Weight in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes: A Retrospective Assessment in Sweden
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Diabetes Therapy. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1869-6953 .- 1869-6961. ; 7:2, s. 321-333
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Introduction: The aim of the present study was to use real-world data from Swedish primary-care and national registries to understand clinical outcomes in patients with Type 2 diabetes (T2D) treated with liraglutide in clinical practice, and to compare with data from those treated with sitagliptin. Methods: This was a non-interventional, retrospective study conducted between February 2014 and September 2014 using T2D patient data from Swedish primary-care centers and national healthcare registries. The primary objective was to assess the effectiveness of liraglutide in control of glycemia and body weight in clinical practice (stage 1). The secondary objective was to compare the clinical effectiveness of liraglutide with sitagliptin on glycemic control and body weight in clinical practice in a propensity-score-matched population (stage 2). Results: In stage 1 (n = 402), 39.4% of patients treated with liraglutide achieved >= 1.0% (10.9 mmol/mol) reduction in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) after 180 days of treatment and 54.9% achieved the target HbA1c of <7.0% (53.0 mmol/mol). Moreover, compared with baseline, 22.5% of patients treated with liraglutide achieved both >= 1.0% reduction in HbA1c and >= 3.0% reduction in body weight. In stage 2, a significantly greater proportion of patients receiving liraglutide (n = 180) than sitagliptin (n = 208) achieved >= 1.0% reduction in HbA1c [52.9% vs 33.5%, respectively (P = 0.0002)]. Mean body-weight loss was also significantly greater in patients receiving liraglutide vs sitagliptin [-3.5 vs -1.3 kg, respectively (P < 0.0001)]. Conclusion: This study provides real-world evidence from Sweden corroborating previous clinical trials that demonstrate greater efficacy of liraglutide over sitagliptin on glycemic control and body-weight reduction in patients with T2D.

  • The dyslexia candidate locus on 2p12 is associated with general cognitive ability and white matter structure.
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: PLOS ONE. - : Public Library of Science (PLoS). - 1932-6203. ; 7:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Independent studies have shown that candidate genes for dyslexia and specific language impairment (SLI) impact upon reading/language-specific traits in the general population. To further explore the effect of disorder-associated genes on cognitive functions, we investigated whether they play a role in broader cognitive traits. We tested a panel of dyslexia and SLI genetic risk factors for association with two measures of general cognitive abilities, or IQ, (verbal and non-verbal) in the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC) cohort (N>5,000). Only the MRPL19/C2ORF3 locus showed statistically significant association (minimum P = 0.00009) which was further supported by independent replications following analysis in four other cohorts. In addition, a fifth independent sample showed association between the MRPL19/C2ORF3 locus and white matter structure in the posterior part of the corpus callosum and cingulum, connecting large parts of the cortex in the parietal, occipital and temporal lobes. These findings suggest that this locus, originally identified as being associated with dyslexia, is likely to harbour genetic variants associated with general cognitive abilities by influencing white matter structure in localised neuronal regions.

  • Molecular networks of DYX1C1 gene show connection to neuronal migration genes and cytoskeletal proteins.
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Biological Psychiatry. - : Elsevier BV. - 0006-3223 .- 1873-2402. ; 73:6, s. 583-90
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • BACKGROUND: The dyslexia susceptibility 1 candidate 1 (DYX1C1) gene has recently been associated with dyslexia and reading scores in several population samples. The DYX1C1 has also been shown to affect neuronal migration and modulate estrogen receptor signaling.METHODS: We have analyzed the molecular networks of DYX1C1 by gene expression and protein interaction profiling in a human neuroblastoma cell line.RESULTS: We find that DYX1C1 can modulate the expression of nervous system development and neuronal migration genes such as RELN and associate with a number of cytoskeletal proteins. We also show by live cell imaging that DYX1C1 regulates cell migration of the human neuroblastoma cell line dependent on its tetratricopeptide repeat and DYX1 protein domains. The DYX1 domain is a novel highly conserved domain identified in this study by multiple sequence alignment of DYX1C1 proteins recovered from a wide range of eukaryotic species.CONCLUSIONS: Our results contribute to the hypothesis that dyslexia has a developmental neurobiological basis by linking DYX1C1 with many genes involved in neuronal migration disorders.
