  • Combined measurement and QCD analysis of the inclusive e(+/-)p scattering cross sections at HERA
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; :1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A combination is presented of the inclusive deep inelastic cross sections measured by the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations in neutral and charged current unpolarised e(+/-)p scattering at HERA during the period 1994-2000. The data span six orders of magnitude in negative four-momentum-transfer squared, Q(2), and in Bjorken x. The combination method used takes the correlations of systematic uncertainties into account, resulting in an improved accuracy. The combined data are the sole input in a NLO QCD analysis which determines a new set of parton distributions, HERAPDF1.0, with small experimental uncertainties. This set includes an estimate of the model and parametrisation uncertainties of the fit result.

  • Events with an isolated lepton and missing transverse momentum and measurement of W production at HERA
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; 2010:3, s. 1-19
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A search for events containing an isolated electron or muon and missing trans verse momentum produced in e(+/-)p collisions is performed with the H1 and ZEUS detectors at HERA. The data were taken in the period 1994-2007 and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 0.98 fb(-1). The observed event yields are in good overall agreement with the Standard Model prediction, which is dominated by single W production. In the e(+)p data, at large hadronic transverse momentum P-T(X) > 25GeV, a total of 23 events are observed compared to a prediction of 14.0 +/- 1.9. The total single W boson production cross section is measured as 1.06 +/- 0.16 (stat.) +/- 0.07 (sys.) pb, in agreement with an Standard Model (SM) expectation of 1.26 +/- 0.19 pb.

  • A detector system for studying nuclear reactions relevant to Single Event Effects
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A. - : Elsevier BV. - 0168-9002 .- 1872-9576 .- 0167-5087. ; 578:2, s. 385-398
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We describe a device to study reactions relevant for the Single Event Effect (SEE) in microelectronics by means of 200A and 300AMeV, inverse kinematics, Si + H and Si + D reactions. The work is focused on the possibility to measure Z = 2-14 projectile fragments as efficiently as possible. During commissioning and first experiments the fourth quadrant of the CELSIUS storage ring acted as a spectrometer to register fragments in two planes of Si strip detectors in the angular region 0 degrees-0.6 degrees. A combination of ring-structured and sector-structured Si strip detector planes operated at angles 0.6 degrees-1.1 degrees. For specific event tagging a Si+ phoswich scintillator wall operated in the range 3.9 degrees-11.7 degrees and Si Delta E-E telescopes of CHICSi type operated at large angles.

  • Multi-leptons with high transverse momentum at HERA
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1029-8479. ; :10
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Events with at least two high transverse momentum leptons (electrons or muons) are studied using the H1 and ZEUS detectors at HERA with an integrated luminosity of 0.94 fb(-1). The observed numbers of events are in general agreement with the Standard Model predictions. Seven di- and tri-lepton events are observed in e(+)p collision data with a scalar sum of the lepton transverse momenta above 100 GeV while 1.94 +/- 0.17 events are expected. Such events are not observed in e(-)p collisions for which 1.19 +/- 0.12 are predicted. Total visible and differential di-electron and di-muon photoproduction cross sections are extracted in a restricted phase space dominated by photon-photon collisions.

  • 200 and 300 MeV/nucleon nuclear reactions responsible for single-event effects in microelectronics
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Physical Review C. Nuclear Physics. - 0556-2813 .- 1089-490X. ; 77:4, s. 44601-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • An experimental study of nuclear reactions between Si-28 nuclei at 200 and 300 MeV/nucleon and hydrogen or deuterium target nuclei was performed at the CELSIUS storage ring in Uppsala, Sweden, to collect information about the reactions responsible for single-event effects in microelectronics. Inclusive data on Si-28 fragmentation, as well as data on correlations between recoils and spectator protons or alpha particles are compared to predictions from the Dubna cascade model and the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute version of the quantum molecular dynamics model. The comparison shows satisfactory agreement for inclusive data except for He fragments where low-energy sub-barrier fragments and recoiling fragments with very large momenta are produced much more frequently than predicted. The yield of exclusive data are also severely underestimated by the models whereas the charge distributions of recoils in these correlations compare well. The observed enhancement in He emission, which may well be important for the description of single-event effects, is most likely to be attributed to alpha clustering in Si-28 nuclei.

  • Complexes of self-interstitials with oxygen atoms in germanium
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Materials Science in Semiconductor Processing. - : Elsevier BV. - 1369-8001 .- 1873-4081. ; 11:5, s. 344-347
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Interactions of germanium self-interstitials with interstitial oxygen atoms in Ge crystals have been studied by combining experimental and theoretical methods. Self-interstitials were created in oxygen-rich Ge crystals by irradiation with MeV electrons at 80 K, and I-O-related complexes were studied by means of infrared absorption spectroscopy, while the density functional theory was used to model structures, local vibrational modes and electronic properties of IO and I2O centers. It is argued that two absorption lines at 674 and 602 cm-1, which develop upon annealing of irradiated Ge:O crystals in the temperature range 180-220 K, are related to IO complexes, while another set of bands at 713 and 803 cm-1 is related to I2O. Those assignments are supported by the comparison with the calculated local vibrational modes of the defects.
