  • Finite volume and partially quenched QCD-like effective field theories
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; :11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present a calculation of the meson masses, decay constants and quark-antiquark vacuum expectation value for the three generic QCD-like chiral symmetry breaking patterns SU(N-F) x SU(N-F) -> SU(N-F)(V), SU(N-F) -> SO(N-F) and SU(2N(F)) -> Sp(2N(F)) in the effective field theory for these cases. We extend the previous two-loop work to include effects of partial quenching and finite volume. The calculation has been performed using the quark flow technique. We reproduce the known in finite volume results in the unquenched case. The analytical results can be found in the supplementary material. Some examples of numerical results are given. The numerical programs for all cases are included in version 0.54 of the CHIRON package. The purpose of this work is the use in lattice extrapolations to zero mass for QCD-like and strongly interacting Higgs sector lattice calculations.

  • Finite volume at two-loops in chiral perturbation theory
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; :1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We calculate the finite volume corrections to meson masses and decay constants in two and three flavour Chiral Perturbation Theory to two-loop order. The analytical results are compared with the existing result for the pion mass in two-flavour ChPT and the partial results for the other quantities. We present numerical results for all quantities.

  • Finite volume for three-flavour Partially Quenched Chiral Perturbation Theory through NNLO in the meson sector
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; :11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present a calculation of the finite volume corrections to meson masses and decay constants in three flavour Partially Quenched Chiral Perturbation Theory ( PQChPT) through two-loop order in the chiral expansion for the flavour-charged ( or off-diagonal) pseudoscalar mesons. The analytical results are obtained for three sea quark flavours with one, two or three different masses. We reproduce the known in finite volume results and the finite volume results in the unquenched case. The calculation has been performed using the supersymmetric formulation of PQChPT as well as with a quark flow technique. Partial analytical results can be found in the appendices. Some examples of cases relevant to lattice QCD are studied numerically. Numerical programs for all results are available as part of the CHIRON package.

  • Dysregulated Lipid Metabolism Precedes Onset of Psychosis
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Biological Psychiatry. - : Elsevier. - 0006-3223 .- 1873-2402. ; 89:3, s. 288-297
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • BACKGROUND: A key clinical challenge in the management of individuals at clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR) is that it is difficult to predict their future clinical outcomes. Here, we investigated if the levels of circulating molecular lipids are related to adverse clinical outcomes in this group.METHODS: Serum lipidomic analysis was performed in 263 CHR individuals and 51 healthy control subjects, who were then clinically monitored for up to 5 years. Machine learning was used to identify lipid profiles that discriminated between CHR and control subjects, and between subgroups of CHR subjects with distinct clinical outcomes.RESULTS: At baseline, compared with control subjects, CHR subjects (independent of outcome) had higher levels of triacylglycerols with a low acyl carbon number and a double bond count, as well as higher levels of lipids in general. CHR subjects who subsequently developed psychosis (n = 50) were distinguished from those that did not (n = 213) on the basis of lipid profile at baseline using a model with an area under the receiver operating curve of 0.81 (95% confidence interval = 0.69-0.93). CHR subjects who became psychotic had lower levels of ether phospholipids than CHR individuals who did not (p < .01).CONCLUSIONS: Collectively, these data suggest that lipidomic abnormalities predate the onset of psychosis and that blood lipidomic measures may be useful in predicting which CHR individuals are most likely to develop psychosis.

  • Closing the Window on Light Charged Higgs Bosons in the NMSSM
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Advances in High Energy Physics. - : Hindawi Limited. - 1687-7357 .- 1687-7365.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In the Next-to-Minimal SuperSymmetric Model (NMSSM) the lightest CP-odd Higgs bosons (a(1)) can be very light. As a consequence, in addition to the standard charged Higgs boson (h(+/-)) decays considered in the MSSM for a light charged Higgs (m(h +/-) < m(t)), the branching fraction for h(+/-) -> a(1)W can be dominant. We investigate how this signal can be searched for in t<(t)over bar> production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in the case that (m(a1) greater than or similar to 2m(B)) with the a(1) giving rise to a single b (b) over bar -jet and discuss to what extent the LHC experiments are able to discover such a scenario with an integrated luminosity similar to 20 fb(-1). We also discuss the implications of the possible Higgs-signal observed at the LHC.

  • A v0-representability issue in lattice ensemble-DFT and its signature in lattice TDDFT
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: European Physical Journal B. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1434-6028 .- 1434-6036. ; 91, s. 1-8
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We study a small Anderson-impurity cluster using lattice density functional methods, and try todetermine the exact exchange-correlation (XC) potential via reverse engineering. In doing so we nd singlet{triplet degenerate interacting ground states which cannot be v0-represented in an ensemble-DFT sense. Wealso nd that it is possible to represent a triplet ground state as a pure state, but not the singlet. We further investigate this behavior within time-dependent density-functional theory. Starting from a v0-representableground state and entering the degeneracy region via a time-dependent perturbation, we determine via reverse-engineering the time-dependent XC potential for progressively slower perturbations. This analysis shows that, even in a constant external eld, the XC potential must retain a time-oscillating pattern to ensure a density constant in time, a hint of the underlying representability issue in the ground state.

  • ChPT meets lattice : Finite volume and partial quenching for masses, decay constants and VEVs at NNLO
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Proceedings of Science. - 1824-8039.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We discuss finite volume effects and partial quenching for Chiral Perturbation Theory in the mesonic sector. The effects are computed in terms of analytical expressions for masses, decay constants and vacuum expectation values (VEVs) to two-loop order. Numerical examples are presented for a number of interesting and relevant cases. All numerical programs are publically available, the prospects of a combination of these studies with lattice gauge theory computations are discussed briefly.
