  • 233Pa(n, f) cross section up to En=8.5 MeV
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Nuclear Physics A. - : Elsevier BV. - 0375-9474 .- 1873-1554. ; 733:1-2, s. 3-19
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The energy dependence of the neutron-induced fission cross section of 233Pa has been measured directly for the first time from the fission threshold up to En=8.5 MeV. This reaction plays an important role in the thorium-uranium fuel cycle, and is thus of interest for the design and modeling of advanced reactor and transmutation facilities. The existing information in the ENDF/B-VI and JENDL-3.3 evaluated nuclear data files differ by a factor of two for the 233Pa(n, f) cross section values and show different fission threshold energies. Our new experimental data give lower cross section values than both evaluations and resolves the question about the threshold energy. In addition to the experimental investigation, also a new theoretical calculation of the reaction cross section has been performed with the statistical model code STATIS, showing a good agreement with the experimental data.

  • The Early Awareness and Alert System in Sweden : History and Current Status
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Frontiers in Pharmacology. - : Frontiers Media S.A.. - 1663-9812. ; 8
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Swedish EAA System started as a regional initiative and rapidly grew to become a national level activity. An important feature of the system today is its complete integration into the national process for managed introduction and follow-up of new medicines. The system will continue to evolve as a response both to the changing landscape of health innovations and to new policy initiatives at the regional, national and international level.

  • Consensus recommendations on flow cytometry for the assessment of inherited and acquired disorders of platelet number and function : Communication from the ISTH SSC Subcommittee on Platelet Physiology
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 1538-7933 .- 1538-7836. ; 19:12, s. 3193-3202
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Flow cytometry is increasingly used in the study of platelets in inherited and acquired disorders of platelet number and function. However, wide variation exists in specific reagents, methods, and equipment used, making interpretation and comparison of results difficult. The goal of the present study was to provide expert consensus guidance on the use of flow cytometry for the evaluation of platelet disorders. A modified RAND/UCLA survey method was used to obtain a consensus among 11 experts from 10 countries across four continents, on the appropriateness of statements relating to clinical utility, pre-analytical variables, instrument and reagent standardization, methods, reporting, and quality control for platelet flow cytometry. Feedback from the initial survey revealed that uncertainty was sometimes due to lack of expertise with a particular test condition rather than unavailable or ambiguous data. To address this, the RAND method was modified to allow experts to self-identify statements for which they could not provide expert input. There was uniform agreement among experts in the areas of instrument and reagent standardization, methods, reporting, and quality control and this agreement is used to suggest best practices in these areas. However, 25.9% and 50% of statements related to pre-analytical variables and clinical utility, respectively, were rated as uncertain. Thus, while citrate is the preferred anticoagulant for many flow cytometric platelet tests, expert opinions differed on the acceptability of other anticoagulants, particularly heparin. Lack of expert consensus on the clinical utility of many flow cytometric platelet tests indicates the need for rigorous multicenter clinical outcome studies.

  • Prediction of chromatographic retention and protein identification in liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Analytical Chemistry. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 0003-2700 .- 1520-6882. ; 74:22, s. 5826-5830
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Liquid chromatography coupled on- or off-line with mass spectrometry is rapidly advancing as a tool in proteomics capable of dealing with the inherent complexity in biology and complementing conventional approaches based on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Proteins can be identified by proteolytic digestion and peptide mass fingerprinting or by searching databases using short-sequence tags generated by tandem mass spectrometry. This paper shows that information on the chromatographic behavior of peptides can assist protein identification by peptide mass fingerprinting in liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. This additional information is significant and already available at no extra experimental cost.

  • Protein identification in cerebrospinal fluid using packed capillary liquid chromatography Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry
  • 2003
  • Ingår i: Proteomics. - : Wiley. - 1615-9853 .- 1615-9861. ; 3:2, s. 184-190
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The identification and characterization of proteins in complex biological samples such as body fluids, require powerful and reliable tools. Mass spectrometry is today one of the most important methods in such research. This paper reports on the results from the first experiment where a tryptic digest of cerebrospinal fluid was analyzed applying reversed phase liquid chromatography coupled on-line to a 9.4 T Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer. In total, 70 204 peaks were detected, which originated from 16 296 isotopic clusters corresponding to 6551 unique peptide masses. From these masses, 39 proteins were identified in the sample. The amount of sample required for one experiment corresponds to 32 μL of cerebrospinal fluid.

  • Chiral recognition by molecularly imprinted polymers in aqueous media
  • 1998
  • Ingår i: Chromatographia. - 0009-5893. ; 48:3-4, s. 197-202
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Molecularly imprinted polymers were prepared using 2-vinylpyridine and/or methacrylic acid as functional monomers in a self-assembly imprinting protocol. The resulting polymers were analyzed in aqueous media, and the effects from the pH of the mobile phase and the degree of added organic solvent were investigated. The results are indicative of the importance of ionic bonds in conjunction with hydrophobic interactions in the formation of the complexes between the analyte and the polymers.

  • Neutron-induced fission cross section of 233Pa between 1.0 and 3.0 MeV
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Physical Review Letters. - 0031-9007 .- 1079-7114. ; 88:6, s. 062502-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The energy dependent neutron-induced fission cross section of 233Pa has for the first time been measured directly with monoenergetic neutrons. This nuclide is an important intermediary in a thorium based fuel cycle, and its fission cross section is a key parameter in the modeling of future advanced fuel and reactor concepts. A first experiment resulted in four cross section values between 1.0 and 3.0 MeV, establishing a fission threshold in excess of 1 MeV. Significant discrepancies were found with a previous indirect experimental determination and with model estimates.

  • The Pa-233 fission cross section
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology. - : Informa UK Limited. - 0022-3131 .- 1881-1248. ; 39:Supplement 2, s. 210-213
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The energy dependent neutron-induced fission cross section of 233Pa has for the first time been measured directly with mono-energetic neutrons. This isotope is produced in the thorium fuel cycle and serves as an intermediate step between the 232Th source material and the 233U fuel material. Four neutron energies between 1.0 and 3.0 MeV have been measured in a first campaign. Some preliminary results are presented and compared to literature.
