  • Eliciting Evolving Topics, Trends and Foresight about Self-driving Cars Using Dynamic Topic Modeling
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Advances in Information and Communication. - Cham : Springer. - 9783030394448 - 9783030394455 ; , s. 488-509
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Self-driving technology is part of smart city ecosystems, and it touches a broader research domain. There are advantages associated with using this technology, such as improved quality of life, reduced pollution, and reduced fuel cost to name a few. However, there are emerging concerns, such as the impact of this technology on transportation systems, safety, trust, affordability, control, etc. Furthermore, self-driving cars depend on highly complex algorithms. The purpose of this research is to identify research agendas and innovative ideas using unsupervised machine learning, dynamic topic modeling, and to identify the evolution of topics and emerging trends. The identified trends can be used to guide academia, innovation intermediaries, R&D centers, and the auto industry in eliciting and evaluating ideas. The research agendas and innovative ideas identified are related to intelligent transportation, computer vision, control and safety, sensor design and use, machine learning and algorithms, navigation, and human-driver interaction. The result of this study shows that trending terms are safety, trust, transportation system (traffic, modeling traffic, parking, roads, power utilization, the buzzword smart, shared resources), design for the disabled, steering and control, requirement handling, machine learning, LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) sensor, real-time 3D image processing, navigation, and others.

  • Cognitive and affective factors in relations to learning
  • 2022
  • Samlingsverk (redaktörskap) (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Both domain-general (e.g., working memory, executive functions) and domain-specific (e.g., number processing, phonological processing) cognitive factors have been found to predict learning in different age groups. Likewise, research has shown that various affective factors, such as different emotions (e.g., anxiety), self-concept, and interest, need to be considered when investigating individual differences in learning. However, few studies have investigated both cognitive and affective factors simultaneously in relation to learning. In particular, there is a lack of studies investigating the interplay (i.e., moderation and mediation) between cognitive and affective factors on learning. The goal of this Research Topic is to deepen our knowledge on the relations between learning and both cognitive and affective factors in different age groups. We aim to provide a broad scope of emerging areas in research on cognitive and affective factors, especially related to academic learning (e.g., mathematics, reading, and other school subjects). Studies focusing simultaneously looking at the interplay of these constructs, as well as longitudinally, are of great interest. Further, we are interested in innovative study designs and recent advances in methodology in this field. To promote quality education for all and equity in education, cognitive and affective factors related to aspects of learning ranging from pre-school to tertiary provision, and inclusion of individuals with special educational needs, are of interest.

  • Diverging Expressions of Anharmonicity in Halide Perovskites
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Advanced Materials. - : Wiley-V C H Verlag GMBH. - 0935-9648 .- 1521-4095. ; 34:14
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Lead-based halide perovskite crystals are shown to have strongly anharmonic structural dynamics. This behavior is important because it may be the origin of their exceptional photovoltaic properties. The double perovskite, Cs2AgBiBr6, has been recently studied as a lead-free alternative for optoelectronic applications. However, it does not exhibit the excellent photovoltaic activity of the lead-based halide perovskites. Therefore, to explore the correlation between the anharmonic structural dynamics and optoelectronic properties in lead-based halide perovskites, the structural dynamics of Cs2AgBiBr6 are investigated and are compared to its lead-based analog, CsPbBr3. Using temperature-dependent Raman measurements, it is found that both materials are indeed strongly anharmonic. Nonetheless, the expression of their anharmonic behavior is markedly different. Cs2AgBiBr6 has well-defined normal modes throughout the measured temperature range, while CsPbBr3 exhibits a complete breakdown of the normal-mode picture above 200 K. It is suggested that the breakdown of the normal-mode picture implies that the average crystal structure may not be a proper starting point to understand the electronic properties of the crystal. In addition to our main findings, an unreported phase of Cs2AgBiBr6 is also discovered below approximate to 37 K.

  • Endocrinological late complications after hematopoietic SCT in children
  • 2008
  • Ingår i: Bone Marrow Transplantation. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1476-5365 .- 0268-3369. ; 41, s. 43-48
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The main challenge for a pediatric hemato-oncologist today is to obtain a cure for the sick child with the minimum of treatment-related complications. Children on their way to achieving adulthood face many risks after hematopoietic SCT (HSCT). Continuous follow-up includes assessment of organ function, focus on vaccinations and screening for secondary malignancies. Updated treatment protocols are already adjusted according to the knowledge obtained on late effects, and the potential risks for complications are well balanced with expected benefits hopefully resulting in decreased potential risk for organ damage but still maintaining an unchanged or improved survival rate. Recent developments on pre-HSCT regimens, such as the introduction of new anticancer regimens and immunosuppressive agents will hopefully contribute to minimize the frequency and the severity of late complications. Knowledge about increased risk for long-term complications due to cancer therapy and pre-HSCT preparative regimens should encourage each caring physician to stick to follow-up protocols and treatment guidelines not only to improve the survival rate of transplanted children but also to improve their quality of life. To achieve adulthood by maintaining cognitive ability and psychosocial skills is the highest goal for an individual to become a competent member of a society. This review of late endocrine complications after HSCT focuses on growth, pubertal development, thyroid disorders and glucose metabolism in long-term survivors.
