  • Structure studies of sulphur compounds by ESCA
  • 1968
  • Ingår i: Chemical Physics Letters. - 0009-2614 .- 1873-4448. ; 1:11, s. 557-559
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Results, obtained by means of the ESCA-technique (Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis), are reported on the correlation between the binding energy of the inner electrons of sulphur and the chemical state and environment, with particular emphasis on the sulphur-oxygen bond. A charge-binding energy correlation is established which can be used for the estimation of charge on sulphur in compounds with uncertain structure or composition.

  • Biomarker Concentrations and Their Temporal Changes in Patients With Myocardial Infarction and Nonobstructive Compared With Obstructive Coronary Arteries : Results From the PLATO Trial
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of the American Heart Association. - : American heart association. - 2047-9980. ; 12:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: The pathobiology of myocardial infarction (MI) with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is often uncertain. Investigating biomarker concentrations and their changes may offer novel pathophysiological insights. Methods and Results: In this post hoc study of the PLATO (Platelet Inhibition and Patient Outcomes) trial, concentrations of hs‐cTnT (high‐sensitivity cardiac troponin T), NT‐proBNP (N‐terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide), hs‐CRP (high‐sensitivity C‐reactive protein), and GDF‐15 (growth differentiation factor 15) were measured in patients with MINOCA at baseline (n=554) and at 1‐month follow‐up (n=107). For comparisons, biomarkers were also measured in patients with MI with obstructive (stenosis ≥50%) coronary artery disease (baseline: n=11 106; follow‐up: n=2755]). Adjusted linear regression models were used to compare concentrations and their short‐ and long‐term changes. The adjusted geometric mean ratios (GMRs) in patients with MINOCA (median age, 61 years; 50.4% women) indicated lower hs‐cTnT (GMR, 0.77 [95% CI, 0.68–0.88]) but higher hs‐CRP (GMR, 1.21 [95% CI, 1.08–1.37]) and GDF‐15 concentrations (GMR, 1.06 [95% CI, 1.02–1.11]) at baseline compared with patients with MI with obstructive coronary artery disease, whereas NT‐proBNP concentrations were similar. Temporal decreases in hs‐cTnT, NT‐proBNP, and hs‐CRP concentrations until 1‐month follow‐up were more pronounced in patients with MINOCA. At follow‐up, patients with MINOCA had lower concentrations of hs‐cTnT (GMR, 0.71 [95% CI, 0.60–0.84]), NT‐proBNP (GMR, 0.45 [95% CI, 0.36–0.56]), and hs‐CRP (GMR, 0.68 [95% CI, 0.53–0.86]). One‐month GDF‐15 concentrations were similar between both groups with MI.Conclusions: Biomarker concentrations suggest greater initial inflammatory activity, similar degree of myocardial dysfunction, and less pronounced myocardial injury during the acute phase of MINOCA compared with MI with obstructive coronary artery disease but also faster myocardial recovery.CLINICAL TRAIL REGISTRATION: URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. • Multiphoton mass spectra of Xe-2 molecules in the range of excited Xe*(6p, 5d) atoms
  • 2006
  • Ingår i: Optics and Spectroscopy. ; 100:4, s. 497-509
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The (2 + 1) photoionization mass spectra of Xe-2 molecules are studied in a supersonic jet upon excitation by laser radiation in the energy range 80321.3-77821 cm(-1), corresponding to the dissociation of the Xe-2 molecule into atoms Xe(S-1(0)) + Xe*(6p, 5d). Several vibrational progressions are observed, which are attributed to two-photon transitions of Xe-2 from the ground state to the excited states of the 0(g)(+), 1(g), and 2(g) symmetries. Based on the analysis of these progressions, the molecular constants of a number of excited states of Xe? are estimated.

  • Multiphoton mass spectra of XeKr molecules in the range of excited Xe*6p[5/2](2,3) atoms
  • 2007
  • Ingår i: Optics and Spectroscopy. - 0030-400X .- 1562-6911. ; 102:6, s. 834-841
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Data on excited states of XeKr molecules in the energy range 78280-77600 cm(-1) are obtained. Using the method of multiphoton laser photoionization of molecules in a supersonic jet, five vibrational progressions of XeKr molecules are obtained, which are attributed to five electronic-vibrational transitions from the ground state of the XeKr molecule of the symmetry 0(+) to excited states of the symmetry Omega = 0(+), 1, 2 with the dissociation limit (KrS0)-S-1 + Xe*6p[5/2](2) and of the symmetry Omega = 1, 2 with the dissociation limit Kr + Xe*6p[5/2](3). The molecular constants of the corresponding excited states of the XeKr molecule are estimated.

  • High-resolution UV photoelectron spectrum of CO2
  • 1983
  • Ingår i: Chemical Physics. - : Elsevier BV. - 0301-0104. ; 78:3, s. 311-318
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The highly-resolved HeI photoelectron spectrum of CO2 is presented and its vibrational structure studied in detail. In the 2Πg ionic state the v3 antisymmetric mode is found to be excited in double quanta (v1- v2- v3 = 0. 0. 2) with energy hv3 = 181 meV. In the 2Σg+ state a single quantum of the same mode is found to be excited (hv3 = 189 meV) in combination with a v1 excitation. Vibronic interaction with vibrational levels in the 2Σu+ state of the ion is suggested to promote this (1, 0, 1) excitation. It is established that inelastic scattering processes contribute to the vibrational structure in the 2Σg+ band. The spin-orbit splitting in the 2Πg is determined to be 19±1 meV and 10±2 eV in the 2Πu state. Vibronic structure is resolved in the 2Πg band where the Renner-Teller coupling constant is determined to be ε = 0.21±0.02 and the vibrational energy of the v2 mode as 60±7 meV. In the 2Πu state the v2 energy is found to be hv2 = 60 meV from the observed hot-band structure.

  • Inelastic scattering and satellite fine structure in the high-resolution uv photoelectron spectrum of CS2
  • 1984
  • Ingår i: Journal of Electron Spectroscopy and Related Phenomena. - : Elsevier BV. - 0368-2048. ; 34:3, s. 235-252
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The outer valence region in CS2 has been studied by high-resolution UV photpelectron Spectroscopy. The spectra reveal detailed vibrational structure in the X 2Πg, A 2Πu, B 2Σ+u and C 2Σ+g bands. Some of the fine-structure peaks in the X B and C bands are shown to be pressure-dependent. The reason for the pressure dependence is assumed to be inelastic scattering of electrons emitted in the adiabatic transitions. It is established that the two CI satellite bands present in the He(I)-excited spectrum contain vibrational structure.
