  • A comprehensive dataset of luminescence chronologies and environmental proxy indices of loess-paleosol deposits across Asia
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: npj Climate and Atmospheric Science. - : Springer Nature. - 2397-3722. ; 7:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Loess-paleosol sequences have been used in Asia to study climate and environmental changes during the Quaternary. The scarcity of age control datasets and proxy indices analysis data for Asian loess has limited our understanding of loess depositional processes and the reconstruction of paleoclimatic changes from loess-paleosol records. In this study, we present a dataset that includes 1785 quartz optically stimulated luminescence ages and 1038 K-feldspar post-infrared infrared stimulated luminescence ages from 128 loess-paleosol sequences located in different regions of Asia. We generate 38 high-resolution age-depth models of loess records based on the provided datasets. We provide data on 12,365 grain size records, 14,964 magnetic susceptibility records, 2204 CaCO3 content records, and 3326 color reflection records. This dataset contains the most detailed and accurate chronologies and proxy index data for loess records in Asia yet published. It provides fundamental data for understanding the spatial-temporal variations in loess depositional processes and climatic changes across the continent during the mid-late Quaternary.

  • Adaptive Event-Triggered Consensus of Multiagent Systems on Directed Graphs
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. - 0018-9286. ; 66:4, s. 1670-1685
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This article systematically studies consensus of linear multiagent systems (MASs) on directed graphs through adaptive event-triggered control. It presents innovative adaptive event-triggered state-feedback protocols with novel composite event-triggering conditions. Two specific designs in terms of different event-triggering conditions and laws of adaption are first discussed for linear MASs on strongly connected directed graphs, which are then extended to general directed graphs that contain a spanning tree. Moreover, another adaptive event-triggered protocol is proposed for solving leader-follower consensus that tracks a leader of a bounded control input. The protocols inherit the merits of both adaptive control and event-triggered control: the protocols can be implemented in a fully distributed way, since the Laplacian is avoided in design, and each agent only needs to know the relative information between neighbors at discrete instants determined by event-triggering conditions. Compared with the existing related results, the proposed protocols are applicable for linear MASs on general directed graphs, and moreover, the time-dependent term in the event-triggering conditions is allowed to be a class of positive L1 functions. Two numerical examples clearly verify the effectiveness of the proposed protocols.

  • Regulating reconstruction of oxide-derived Cu for electrochemical CO2 reduction toward n-propanol
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Science Advances. - 2375-2548. ; 9:43
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Oxide-derived copper (OD-Cu) is the most efficient and likely practical electrocatalyst for CO2 reduction toward multicarbon products. However, the inevitable but poorly understood reconstruction from the pristine state to the working state of OD-Cu under strong reduction conditions largely hinders the rational construction of catalysts toward multicarbon products, especially C-3 products like n-propanol. Here, we simulate the reconstruction of CuO and Cu2O into their derived Cu by molecular dynamics, revealing that CuO-derived Cu (CuOD-Cu) intrinsically has a richer population of undercoordinated Cu sites and higher surficial Cu atom density than the counterpart Cu2O-derived Cu (Cu2OD-Cu) because of the vigorous oxygen removal. In situ spectroscopes disclose that the coordination number of CuOD-Cu is considerably lower than that of Cu2OD-Cu, enabling the fast kinetics of CO2 reaction and strengthened binding of *C-2 intermediate(s). Benefiting from the rich undercoordinated Cu sites, CuOD-Cu achieves remarkable n-propanol faradaic efficiency up to similar to 17.9%, whereas the Cu2OD-Cu dominantly generates formate.

  • Quinoline Derivatives Kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis by Activating Glutamate Kinase
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Cell Chemical Biology. - : CELL PRESS. - 2451-9456 .- 2451-9448. ; 26:8, s. 1187-
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • There is a great need for identification and development of new anti-tuberculosis drugs with novel targets. Recent drug-discovery efforts typically focus on identifying inhibitors but not activators that perturb metabolic enzymes' functions as a means to kill Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb). Here, we describe a class of quinoline compounds, Z0933/Z0930, which kill Mtb by acting as activators of glutamate kinase (GK), a previously untargeted enzyme catalyzing the first step of proline biosynthesis. We further show that Z0933/Z0930 augment proline production and induce Mtb killing via proline-derived redox imbalance and production of reactive oxygen species. This work highlights the effectiveness of gain-of-function probes against Mtb and provides a framework for the discovery of next-generation allosteric activators of GK.

  • Modulation of γ-secretase by EVP-0015962 reduces amyloid deposition and behavioral deficits in Tg2576 mice.
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Molecular neurodegeneration. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1750-1326. ; 7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: A hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease is the presence of senile plaques in human brain primarily containing the amyloid peptides Aβ42 and Aβ40. Many drug discovery efforts have focused on decreasing the production of Aβ42 through γ-secretase inhibition. However, identification of γ-secretase inhibitors has also uncovered mechanism-based side effects. One approach to circumvent these side effects has been modulation of γ-secretase to shift Aβ production to favor shorter, less amyloidogenic peptides than Aβ42, without affecting the overall cleavage efficiency of the enzyme. This approach, frequently called γ-secretase modulation, appears more promising and has lead to the development of new therapeutic candidates for disease modification in Alzheimer’s disease. Results: Here we describe EVP-0015962, a novel small molecule γ-secretase modulator. EVP-0015962 decreased Aβ42 in H4 cells (IC50 = 67 nM) and increased the shorter Aβ38 by 1.7 fold at the IC50 for lowering of Aβ42. AβTotal, as well as other carboxyl-terminal fragments of amyloid precursor protein, were not changed. EVP-0015962 did not cause the accumulation of other γ-secretase substrates, such as the Notch and ephrin A4 receptors, whereas a γ-secretase inhibitor reduced processing of both. A single oral dose of EVP-0015962 (30 mg/kg) decreased Aβ42 and did not alter AβTotal peptide levels in a dose-dependent manner in Tg2576 mouse brain at an age when overt Aβ deposition was not present. In Tg2576 mice, chronic treatment with EVP-0015962 (20 or 60 mg/kg/day in a food formulation) reduced Aβ aggregates, amyloid plaques, inflammatory markers, and cognitive deficits. Conclusions: EVP-0015962 is orally bioavailable, detected in brain, and a potent, selective γ-secretase modulator in vitro and in vivo. Chronic treatment with EVP-0015962 was well tolerated in mice and lowered the production of Aβ42, attenuated memory deficits, and reduced Aβ plaque formation and inflammation in Tg2576 transgenic animals. In summary, these data suggest that γ-secretase modulation with EVP-0015962 represents a viable therapeutic alternative for disease modification in Alzheimer’s disease.

  • Evaluation method of product-service performance
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: International journal of computer integrated manufacturing (Print). - : Taylor & Francis. - 0951-192X .- 1362-3052. ; 25:2, s. 150-157
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In order to analyse product–service performance (PSP) during product–service systems’ (PSSs) running time, a PSP evaluation method is proposed. Interrelationship between a PSS’s provider and accepter is defined as product–service relationship (PSR). Concepts of product–service network and product–service chain are put forward to describe interrelationship among PSRs from different perspectives. The concept of PSP is proposed to evaluate interrelationship among PSR. Detailed evaluation indexes are designed to measure the five factors of PSP, including time, quality, cost, stability and reliability. A case study is provided to test the validity and efficiency of the evaluation model of PSP. The analysis results show that the evaluation model can make good efforts in benefiting product–service platform’s running, monitoring and optimising.

  • Optimizing Robustness of Core-Periphery Structure in Complex Networks
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems - II - Express Briefs. - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). - 1549-7747 .- 1558-3791. ; 68:12, s. 3572-3576
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Complex networks can be considered as abstractions of complex systems existing in the real world. The potential functionality of networks is related to mesoscale structures in networks, among which the representative ones are community structure and core-periphery (CP) structure. Since many real-world networks will inevitably be attacked, it is of great significance to enhance robustness of networks. However, few of the existing studies about robustness have laid emphasis on robustness of CP structure. In this brief, we first propose a new index to measure the ability of CP structure to resist attacks or errors. Several efficient algorithms based on this index are then devised to maximize robustness of CP structure under reasonable constraint. Numerical results show that the robustness of the CP structure of several representative real-world networks is markedly enhanced. The structural changes in the optimized networks under study and their implication are also discussed.

  • Li2FePO4F and its metal-doping for Li-ion batteries : an ab initio study
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: RSC Advances. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 2046-2069. ; 4:91, s. 50195-50201
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The electrochemical properties of three isotopic Li2FePO4F compounds, as cathode materials under different space groups Pbcn, P (1) over bar and Pnma were investigated using first principle calculations. Their structures and average open circuit voltages for step delithiation reactions were explored, and the results are in good agreement with the reported experimental data. We estimate the substitution effect of Fe by Co in Pnma-Li2FePO4F. The substitution of Fe by Co in Li2Fe1-xCoxPO4F may enhance the discharge potential of the materials, and the rate of its volume change during the redox process is between 0.6% and 2.1%. Furthermore, from the projected density of states for Li2Fe0.5Co0.5PO4F, we found strong hybridization for Fe-3d and Co-3d bands near the Fermi level, which implies that the Co-doped Li2Fe1-xCoxPO4F may possess better electronic conductivity than the pure phase.

  • Stress-matrix-based formation scaling control
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Automatica. - : Elsevier BV. - 0005-1098. ; 101, s. 120-127
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper investigates the formation scaling control problem for multi-agent systems by utilizing the stress matrix associated with a universally rigid framework. Compared with the existing results on formation scaling control, we consider a more challenging scenario where only one agent has the knowledge of the desired formation size. To cope with this constraint, we first propose a distributed estimator for the remaining agents to estimate the scaling parameter. Then by employing the outputs of the estimator, we design a new class of formation scaling control algorithms for universally rigid frameworks such that the overall formation converges to the prescribed shape with the desired scaling. Numerical simulations are carried out to validate the theoretical results.

  • Large-scale planar and spherical light-emitting diodes based on arrays of perovskite quantum wires
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Nature Photonics. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1749-4885 .- 1749-4893. ; 16:4, s. 284-290
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Halide perovskites are enticing candidates for highly efficient planar light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with commercial potential in displays and lighting. However, it remains a challenge for conventional solution fabrication processes to fabricate large-scale or non-planar LEDs due to the non-uniformity of perovskite films in conjunction with material stability issues. Here large-area highly uniform arrays of crystalline perovskite quantum wires are grown with emission spectra covering the whole visible range. Photoluminescence quantum yield of up to 92% and 5,644 hours as the time for photoluminescence to degrade down to its 50% of the initial value under ambient conditions are achieved for MAPbBr3 quantum wires. LEDs based on these quantum wires on rigid and flexible planar substrates are fabricated up to a four-inch wafer size and also unique three-dimensional spherical LEDs with outstanding uniformity are reported. The results suggest that the approach developed here can be generalized to other unconventional three-dimensional LEDs in the future.
