- Greenhouse is an opaque manifold of meanings. The opacity is not just the result of a layering that occurs when considering its many definitions. It is more so the result of the suppressed colonial violence that is implicit in its technological instrumentalization. This mythical violence, of willfully transplanting the exotic, is at the heart of allother compound terms and subsets of ‘greenhouse’. I have been working on how this opacity obscures a range of forces that shape the environment. More specifically, I amexploring how these opaque forces affect, and may be perceived through, the forms and languages of sculptural and spatial production beyond prescribed visual or imagined outcomes. The work you will encounter here is then a probe to test how the violent opacity of greenhouse may be demystified by shaping an index as potential format for dematerialized display.

- In an era characterized by a move towards a “knowledge society”, universities are central in fostering “knowledgeability”, that is the reflexive understanding of knowledge in knowledge societies. The objective of “knowledgeability” can be met through creating a stronger link between education and research. Furthermore, overall student performance, for example in critical thinking and problem solving, can be improved if research-related activities are incorporated into the curriculum.The aim of this paper is to use international examples to discuss the research- education nexus from four different perspectives, namely context, policy, implementation and quality, with case studies from higher education institutions in Singapore and Sweden.We suggest that different integrative technologies can be used to enhance the links, but it will be essential to consider the inputs of training, service and support in using new technology. Interestingly, the act of evaluating the link between education and research will increase awareness of this linkage by stakeholders involved in both education and research. In turn the link can be strengthened, contributing to increased quality in both education and research.

- Kapitlet behandlar lokal och regional identitet i gränstrakterna mellan Frostviken i nordvästra Jämtland och Lierne i Tröndelag, Norge. Med hjälp av djupintervjuer, deltagande observation och autoetnografisk metod urskiljer författarna kollektiva berättelser med anknytning till lokal och regional identitet på vardera sidan om nationsgränsen. I Lierne finns en positiv syn på den egna kulturen och en stark identifikation med bygden. Frostviksbornas självbild är också positiv, men har påverkats i negativ riktning av den svenska offentliga urbana diskursen.

- Speaking about Radical Sweden or Radical Swedes may sound like an oxymoron, but it is real. In the Swedish welfare state many people like to believe that all that counts is goodness in Sweden, while in fact this concept of Swedish goodness has denied the radicalization of its society; racism, the existence of antisemitism, islamophobia, even sexism; and that it’s social democracy’s global flagship is under threat due to the country’s ongoing Neo-liberalization and the rise of the far-right, against the backdrop of economic decline and arrival of migrants.And yet – against, and due to the troubling and complex background of a Radical Sweden – a new progressive radical responsibility of Radical Swedes starts to emerge thinking the climate, the economy, the common, humanity, living, work, nature and free-time otherwise. It has to do with a need and desire to recover and deepen democratic values, and to recognize and care for the social nucleus present in our societies; how a renewed idea of the common and private can be constructed towards a renewed idea of democratic and ecological imagination. It concerns a radical transformation of our global contemporary society as a whole; how through its paradoxical community’s; where we all have become foreigners – another Cosmo-Political reality can be thought and constructed. The projects documented in this book make difference relate, foster the radical inconsistencies of possibility, situate an otherness of unexpected places, displacements, and interrelationship of people and things that in potential allow new relationships of citizenship to emerge. What the projects situate is a new beginning, or in other words concerns a radicality of ideas, of organizations and its articulations; is about an aesthetics performance that shifts the social, the economic and the political of our doing and thinking, now that the failure of Neo-liberalism has become apparent.

- Increase in sea surface temperature is projected to change seasonal succession and induce dominance shifts in phytoplankton in spring and promote the growth of cyanobacteria in summer. In general, climate change is projected to worsen oxygen conditions and eutrophication in the Baltic Proper and the Gulf of Finland. In the Gulf of Bothnia, the increasing freshwater discharge may increase the amount of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in the water and hence reduce phytoplankton productivity. In winter, reduced duration and spatial extent of sea ice will cause habitat loss for ice-dwelling organisms and probably induce changes in nutrient dynamics within and under the sea ice. The projected salinity decline will probably affect the functional diversity of the benthic communities and induce geographical shifts in the distribution limits of key species such as bladder wrack and blue mussel. In the pelagic ecosystem, the decrease in salinity together with poor oxygen conditions in the deep basins will negatively influence the main Baltic Sea piscivore, cod. This has been suggested to cause cascading effects on clupeids and zooplankton.
