  • Indication of quark deconfinement and evidence for a Hubble flow in 130 and 200 GeV Au+Au collisions
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899 .- 1361-6471. ; 30:8, s. 1079-1082
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Buda-Lund hydro-model fits are compared to BRAHMS, PHENIX, PHOBOS and STAR data on identified particle spectra, two-particle Bose-Einstein or HBT correlations, charged particle pseudorapidity distributions and pseudorapidity as well as PT dependent elliptic flow in rootS(NN) = 130 and 200 GeV Au+Au collisions at RHIC. Preliminary results indicate that 7/8 of the particle emitting volume is rather cold, with surface temperature of 105 MeV, but the temperature has a distribution and the most central 1/8 of the volume is superheated to temperatures above the critical value, T(x) > T-c = 172 3 MeV.

  • Some comments on the current status of event generators for small-x
  • 2000
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899 .- 1361-6471. ; 26:5, s. 707-711
  • Tidskriftsartikel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • We discuss some aspects of the current status of event generators for small-x DIS. In particular we report on recent results using the CCFM evolution implemented in the SMALLX and CASCADE program concerning the importance of the so-called consistency constraint, and compare with the linked dipole chain model implemented in the LDC program. We point out some potential problems with the resolved virtual photon approach to small-x final states. We do not, however, discuss the fact that the ARIADNE program, implementing the soft-radiation dipole cascade, reproduces the bulk of small-x final-state data from HERA.

  • Unintegrated parton densities applied to heavy quark production in the CCFM approach
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of physics. G, Nuclear and particle physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899. ; 28:5, s. 971-981
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The application of k(t)-factorization supplemented with the CCFM small-x evolution equation to heavy quark production is discussed. The b (b) over bar production cross sections at the TEVATRON can be consistently described using the k(t)-factorization formalism together with the unintegrated gluon density obtained within the CCFM evolution approach from a fit to HERA F-2 data. Special attention is drawn to the comparison with measured visible cross sections. The visible measured cross sections at HERA are compared to the hadron level Monte Carlo generator CASCADE.

  • Shape coexistence at high spin in the N = Z+2 nucleus Se-70
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899. ; 28:10, s. 2617-2625
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The nucleus Se-70 was studied using the Ca-40(Ca-40, 2alpha2p) reaction at a beam energy of 185 MeV. Gamma rays were measured with the EUROBALL III spectrometer. The known positive-parity bands have been extended and one new band of positive parity and two of negative parity have been identified. These bands are interpreted in terms of the cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky approach. Calculations suggest that the two negative-parity bands, which have the same signature, are both based on a configuration with two protons and three neutrons lifted from the fp shell to the g(9/2) orbital, but at different nuclear shapes. This represents a shape coexistence at high spin.

  • High-spin structures and band termination effects in Cd-104
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G: Nuclear and Particle Physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899. ; 28:6, s. 1415-1431
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • High-spin states in the neutron-deficient isotope Cd-104 were populated using the Cr-50(Ni-58,4p)Cd-104 reaction at a beam energy of 250 MeV The level scheme has been extended using triple gamma-ray coincidences to a spin of 29h and an excitation energy of 18.2 MeV. Several collective structures involving the excitation of h(11/2) neutrons have been observed to spins approaching 30h. The high-spin structure has been compared to the results of cranked Nilsson-Strutinsky calculations.

  • Rapidity gaps at HERA and the Tevatron from soft colour exchanges
  • 2000
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899 .- 1361-6471. ; 26, s. 712-715
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Models based on soft colour exchanges to rearrange colour strings in the final state provide a general framework for both diffractive and non-diffractive events in ep and hadron-hadron collisions. We study two such models and find that they can reproduce rapidity gap data from both HERA and the Tevatron. We also discuss the influence of parton cascades and multiple interactions on the results.

  • Analysis of the QCD evolution in the pomeron and a search for gluon recombination
  • 2002
  • Ingår i: Journal of Physics G. - : IOP Publishing. - 0954-3899 .- 1361-6471. ; 29:2, s. 285-291
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The pomeron structure function is-extracted from the HI data and is subject to a leading-order QCD analysis. We compare the results obtained from the DGLAP equations with and without corrected for gluon recombination. Both cases give good fits to data but different results for the gluon distribution.
