- We have investigated the continuous particle spectra following the beta decay of the neutron-rich nuclei that terminate the mass 6, 8, 9 and 11 isobaric chains. Strong beta transitions feeding the very top of the spectrum are found systematically. The favoured states are within a few MeV of the energy of the initial state. This phenomenon seems to be linked to the occurrence of a di-neutron structure or neutron halo in the drip-line nuclei.

- The very neutron deficient nucleus 120Ba has been investigated in a high-spin gamma-spectroscopic study. The yrast band of 120Ba is extended up to spin 22 h and one tentatively assigned negative-parity side band is observed up to spin 15 h. The experimental results are compared with Total Routhian Surface calculations.

- In a gamma-spectroscopic study, excited states in the very neutron deficient nucleus 121La have been established for the first time. Rotational bands build on the 9/2+[404] and 1/2-[550] Nilsson orbitals are observed up to a maximum spin of tentatively 51/2 h. The experimental results are compared with Total Routhian Surface calculations.

- Excited states of Te-108 were populated in the Fe-54 + Ni-58 (270 MeV) reaction using the NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged-particle and neutron detector systems for reaction channel separation. Gamma rays belonging to the neutron deficient nucleus Te-108 were identified for the first time. On the basis of gammagamma-coincidence and angular correlation relations a level scheme was constructed with tentative spin and parity assignments. The structure of the nucleus is discussed in the framework of systematics of heavier Te nuclei.

- The yrast band of Xe118 has been extended up to tentatively I-pi = 34+ in a heavy-ion in-beam gamma-spectroscopic study using the NORDBALL detector array. A band crossing is observed at the highest spins and interpreted within the Modified Oscillator Model as a transition to a terminating band.

- Proton rich nuclei close to Sn-100 have been investigated an-beam using the NORDBALL detector array. A beam of 270 MeV Ni-58 was used to bombard a Fe-54 target. Reaction channel separation was achieved with a 4 pi charged particle multi-detector set-up together with a 1 pi neutron detector wall placed in the forward direction. Gamma-ray transitions belonging do the I-111 nucleus were identified for the first time. A level scheme constructed from gamma-gamma-perticle-coincidence analysis is proposed. The level structure is discussed within the framework of the shell model and the systematics of the heavier odd iodine nuclei.

- Beta-coincident gamma-rays have been measured from implanted pure samples of Be-12 separated at the LISE3 spectrometer at GANIL. An intensity of 0.040(26)% can be estimated for the branching ratio of the isospin forbidden pure-Fermi transition to the 0+ excited state of B-12 and of 0.008(6) % of the transition to the 1- excited state. Both are taken to represent upper limits. The halflife has been re-measured to be 26.1(2.4) ms.

- We report on new results for the decay of the superdeformed (SD) band in 194Pb. No transitions linking the SD structure with the known level scheme of 194Pb could be found, but the feeding intensities into the normal-deformed states are determined and limits on the one-step decay of the SD band are given.
