  • Kinetic parameters in anion-exchange membrane fuel cells
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: ECS Transactions. - : Electrochemical Society Inc.. - 1938-6737 .- 1938-5862. - 9781607685395 ; , s. 649-659
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Understanding limitations in an operating AEMFC is essential to .enhance the technology. Here the electrode processes are studied experimentally as well as by two physics-based models taking the porosity of the electrodes into account. The aim is to use the models to determine kinetic parameters specific for in-situ operation. The models can also be used to explain the experimental .behavior. From the impedance model of a symmetric H2/H2 cell it is shown that the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) proceeds through the Tafel-Volmer reaction pathway, with the hydrogen adsorption as the slower reaction step. Based on the HOR model a •steady-state model of an O2/H2 cell is used to evaluate data from 14 experimental I-V curves, obtained for different gas partial pressures and catalyst loadings, in order to study the effects of the oxygen reduction reaction and overall cell limitations. The results show that the oxygen reduction reaction kinetics limit the cell performance for low current densities. However, at higher currents the uneven current distribution and locally low hydrogen adsorption at the anode increasingly affect the overall performance. Uneven current distribution is also observed at the cathode and likely caused by insufficient effective ionomer conductivity.

  • Resistance values of aluminum oxide film in situ during anodization of aluminum by fabry-pérot interferometry
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: ECS Transactions. - : Electrochemical Society Inc.. - 1938-6737 .- 1938-5862. - 9781607685395 ; , s. 1221-1229
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • A combination of Fabry-Pérot interferometry and the DC electrochemical method have been used for the first time, in situ, to measure the resistance of aluminum oxide films in 2% sulfuric acid solution. Values of the corresponding resistance of the obtained Al2O3 film thickness were determined during anodization of aluminum (Al) in 2% H2SO4. The obtained resistance values were verified by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and holographic interferometry. The corresponding resistance (2.4 x109 Ohms) to the final thickness of the aluminum oxide film was found in an agreement with the resistance value that was measured by holographic interferometry, 2.54x109 Ohms, in 2% H2SO4. On the contrary, the corresponding resistance (2.4 x109 Ohms) to the final thickness of the aluminum oxide film was found twice the value of the resistance that was measured by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), 1.25x109 Ohms, in 2% H2SO4.

  • Electrode kinetics of the Ni porous electrode for hydrogen production in the molten carbonate electrolysis cell (MCEC)
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: ECS Transactions. - : The Electrochemical Society. - 1938-5862 .- 1938-6737. - 9781607685395 ; , s. 93-98
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The hydrogen evolution reaction in molten carbonate salts is an important process in the development of the molten carbonate electrolysis cell (MCEC). In the present study the kinetics of hydrogen production in the Ni porous electrode in a MCEC is investigated. The general procedure is to determine the reaction orders of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and water. For this purpose steady-state polarization data were recorded under different gas compositions and temperatures. The exchange current densities were calculated from the slopes of the polarization curves at low overpotential. On the basis of that, the partial pressure dependencies of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and water could be determined in the electrolysis operation.

  • Applying a core competence model on Swedish job advertisements for IT project managers
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Information Technology Project Management. - : IGI Global. - 1938-0232 .- 1938-0240. ; 6:2, s. 1-17
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Recruitments of IT project managers are costly and time-consuming, which makes it important to handle them effectively. IT project managers’ key function in IT projects conveys that the prerequisites in such job ads become extensive and hard to satisfy because of overloaded descriptions. The organization’s core competence (henceforth CC) requirements need to be decisive and explicitly expressed. Hence, each recruitment process should involve the defining of what the CC qualifications are. Advertisements were collected (2010-2013) and a CC lens was tested for assessment of CC criteria in order to get an indication of its value. The study’s practical implication is an added understanding of the importance to discern what core competence/-s a specific project requires and furthermore to match those with the job requirements during the recruitment process. The implication for research is an inspiration for further development of methods for determining core competence criteria for recruiting IT-project managers.

  • Swedish IT project managers’ personality traits mirrored in the Big five
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Information Technology Project Management. - : IGI Global. - 1938-0232 .- 1938-0240. ; 7:3, s. 1-14
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Project success, which is critical to achieve, requires a competent project manager. Could anybody become a skilled project manager, or what does it take? One factor that is considered to influence the opportunities of succeeding is individuals’ personality traits. Which ones would be suitable for Swedish IT project managers then? Could these be mirrored in the perspective of the Big five categories? This research was carried out by collecting and analyzing job advertisements (henceforth ads.) once a year (2010-2013), in total 325 ads. The findings indicate that the three most requested personality traits for a Swedish IT project manager are driven, communicative and structured.  Mirrored in the Big five dimensions the most requested traits from the study fell into the categories conscientiousness and extraversion. The practical implication is improved ads. by using the Big five categories; research implications are foremost yet another perspective of IT project managers’ personality traits.

  • The Shared Experience Help the Bereavement to Flow: A Family Support Group Evaluation.
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: The American journal of hospice & palliative care. - : SAGE Publications. - 1938-2715 .- 1049-9091. ; 33:10, s. 959-965
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • When a family member dies, a bereavement period is taking place for all family members. The death of a parent during childhood is a highly stressful event. This study evaluates families' experiences of family support groups when a parent has died. Families were participate in groups for children, teenagers, young adults, and parents in seven sessions. The same topic which was discussed in all groups. The support groups were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively. The participants were satisfied with the groups and experienced that the shared experience facilitated bereavement to proceed. The results indicate that families' experiences is being more open about feelings in their own family. A support group can be one possibility to help the whole family in the bereavement.

  • NOX2-dependent immunosuppression in chronic myelomonocytic leukemia
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Journal of Leukocyte Biology. - 0741-5400 .- 1938-3673. ; 102:2, s. 459-466
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a myeloproliferative and myelodysplastic neoplasm with few treatment options and dismal prognosis. The role of natural killer (NK) cells and other antileukemic lymphocytes in CMML is largely unknown. We aimed to provide insight into the mechanisms of immune evasion in CMML with a focus on immunosuppressive reactive oxygen species (ROS) formed by the myeloid cell NADPH oxidase-2 (NOX2). The dominant population of primary human CMML cells was found to express membrane-bound NOX2 and to release ROS, which, in turn, triggered extensive PARP-1-dependent cell death in cocultured NK cells, CD8(+) T effector memory cells, and CD8(+) T effector cells. Inhibitors of ROS formation and scavengers of extracellular ROS prevented CMML cell-induced lymphocyte death and facilitated NK cell degranulation toward Ab-coated, primary CMML cells. In patients with CMML, elevation of immature cell counts (CD34(+)) in blood was associated with reduced expression of several NK cell-activating receptors. We propose that CMML cells may use extracellular ROS as a targetable mechanism of immune escape.

  • Beyond Projet Closure : Why some business relationships recur in subsequent projects
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Project Management Journal. - : SAGE Publications. - 8756-9728 .- 1938-9507. ; 49:2, s. 89-104
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • While a project design provides several managerial advantages within the project life cycle, there are numerous challenges regarding its long-term effects. The aim of this article is to increase our knowledge on the continuity aspect of the project form of organizing, and especially the recurrence of project-based business relationships in subsequent projects. Focusing on the role of network relationships in leveraging between projects, we investigate the reasons for relationship recurrence. Based on a longitudinal case study of three construction projects, our results show that in addition to terminated and dormant relationships after project closure there are recurring relationships, which, unlike the others, do not need reactivation.

  • Conceptual export and theory mobilities : exploring the reception and development of the “creative city thesis” in the post-socialist urban realm
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Eurasian geography and economics. - : Informa UK Limited. - 1538-7216 .- 1938-2863. ; 57:4-5, s. 588-606
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This paper addresses the limited contribution of scholarship from within/on the post-socialist urban arena to global urban studies, a phenomenon attributed to the influence of a hegemonic Anglo-American academic complex. We seek to present a more nuanced account by considering scholarship on the “creative city” in a post-socialist context. A numerical analysis of English language publications confirms the lack of impact of scholarship from/on post-socialist areas, though we do identify literature which may be “theory exporting” and emphasize the temporal dimension of the development of scholarship. We then consider the interaction of three global mobilities to present a more nuanced account of this pattern – the “creative city” thesis as globally mobile urban policy, the neoliberalization of universities as a globally mobile restructuring of the context in which these inequalities in knowledge-production are produced, and urban studies theorizing itself as a set of globally mobile concepts and practices. We therefore explore the dynamic interaction of a particular urban phenomenon (“creative city” policy) with academic knowledge production. Adopting this perspective allows us to emphasize other factors such as path dependencies within post-socialist areas and to give due emphasis to agency within the region and how these interact with global processes of neoliberalizing academia.
