Raman spectroscopy for characterizing porous carbon
- 2020
-
In: Laser Applications to Chemical, Security and Environmental Analysis, LACSEA 2020. - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Raman spectroscopy is performed to disclose structural properties of porous carbon samples including lignocellulosic biomass. Analysis of spectral signatures of carbon, around 1350 cm-1 and 1580 cm-1, indicates higher porosity for the biomass sample.

Post-compression of picosecond pulses to four optical cycles
- 2020
-
In: High Intensity Lasers and High Field Phenomena, HILAS 2020. - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
- We report post-compression of 1.2 ps pulses into the few-cycle regime via multi-pass spectral broadening. We achieve compression factors of 40 in single and 93 in a dual stage scheme using a compact setup.

Benchmarking of Carrier Phase Recovery Circuits for M-QAM Coherent Systems
- 2021
-
In: Optical Fiber Communication Conference, OFC 2021. - 9781943580866 - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
- We benchmark blind carrier phase recovery DSP circuits in terms of SNR penalty, power dissipation, latency, area usage, and cycle slip probability, to identify optimal implementations for 16, 64, and 256QAM.

Integrated free-space optomechanics with AlGaAs heterostructures
- 2021
-
In: 2021 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe and European Quantum Electronics Conference, CLEO/Europe-EQEC 2021. - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
- We fabricated and characterized suspended bi-layered photonic crystal slabs in AlGaAs heterostructures. Our approach allows to create integrated, closely spaced membranes, which can exhibit photonic bound states in the continuum to increase light-matter interaction.

FBG Applications in 25um Diameter Fibers
- 2022
-
In: Optics InfoBase Conference Papers. - : Optica Publishing Group (formerly OSA). - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (peer-reviewed)abstract
- Ultrathin 25μm optical fibers with FBG sensors are manufactured and used as vibration sensors in glass-fiber reinforced composites. The use of ultrathin fibers is discussed, and their manufacture is described. © 2022 The Authors.

Simple measurement technique for spatio-temporal couplings in few-cycle pulses
- 2022
-
In: The International Conference on Ultrafast Phenomena (UP) 2022. - : Optica Publishing Group (formerly OSA). - 9781557528209
-
Conference paper (other academic/artistic)abstract
- We report on the detection of spatio-temporal couplings in a 700-1000 nm NOPA using an optimized characterization method. The technique is performed during normal focus observation and requires little additional hardware.
