  • The Dark Side of the Entrepreneurial Orientation and Market Orientation Interplay : A New Product Development Perspective
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: International Small Business Journal. - : SAGE Publications. - 0266-2426 .- 1741-2870. ; 33:7, s. 731-751
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • This article examines the dark side of the entrepreneurial orientation–market orientation interplay, and introduces consumer learning to the research stream. In a sample of 206 mid-sized manufacturing firms, the study shows that entrepreneurial orientation has a positive impact on new product development performance, but the effects are reduced when firms simultaneously implement a market orientation philosophy. While having both an entrepreneurial orientation and market orientation philosophy may hinder new product development performance, the article examines how a high market orientation may help reduce consumer learning and enhance the adoption of radical new products

  • Banach Wasserstein GAN
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Advances in Neural Information Processing Systems 31 (NIPS 2018). - : Neural Information Processing Systems (NIPS).
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Wasserstein Generative Adversarial Networks (WGANs) can be used to generate realistic samples from complicated image distributions. The Wasserstein metric used in WGANs is based on a notion of distance between individual images, which induces a notion of distance between probability distributions of images. So far the community has considered l(2) as the underlying distance. We generalize the theory of WGAN with gradient penalty to Banach spaces, allowing practitioners to select the features to emphasize in the generator. We further discuss the effect of some particular choices of underlying norms, focusing on Sobolev norms. Finally, we demonstrate a boost in performance for an appropriate choice of norm on CIFAR-10 and CelebA.

  • Colocalization Analysis in Fluorescence Microscopy
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Cell Imaging Techniques. - New York : Humana Press. - 9781627030557 ; , s. 97-109
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The measurement of colocalization requires images of two fluorophores that are aligned, with no cross talk, and that the intensities remain within the response range of the microscope. Quantitation depends upon differentiating between the presence and absence of fluorescence, and measurements should be made within biologically relevant regions of interest. Co-occurrence can be measured simply by area or with the M1 and M2 coefficients, and should be compared to random distributions. Correlation analysis should use the Pearson and Spearman coefficients, which need to be measured by replicate based noise corrected correlation to eliminate errors arising from differences in image quality. Ideally, both co-occurrence and correlation should be reported.

  • From closed to open door policy: An empirical study of Chinas international capital mobility, 1958-98
  • 2001
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This paper employs the intertemporal consumption smoothing approach to the current account to measure the effective degree of Chinas international capital mobility during the period 1958-98. In contrast to all previous known country studies using this framework, the hypothesis that capital has been at least mobile enough to allow for full consumption smoothing behavior is rejected. Also, although there is clear evidence of a drastic increase in mobility following the introduction of the open door policy in teh late 1970s, the result indicate that there remain effective barriers to Chinas international capital movements.

  • Has Sweden´s government budget policy been too discretionary? Evidence from a generalization of the tax smoothing hypothesis
  • 2003
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Barro's (1979) tax smoothing hypothesis (TSH) assumes that the government is always subject to an "optimal" degree of discretion in budget policy, i.e., optimal in the sense that the welfare costs from taxation are minimized. This paper proposes a generalization of the TSH that relaxes this crucial assumption. Postwar evidence for Sweden indicates that in contrast to the TSH, the generalized model provides close to a perfect fit: Tax smoothing behavior in combination with more discretion in budget policy relative to what is optimal, can explain all shifts in the central government's budget balance, including the dramatic shifts during the period 1970-96.
