- A historiographical study that explores the the way that history was transmitted on Timor, Eastern Indonesia. The article analyzes a historical case from 1752 which can be studied from contemporary colonial documents as well as later oral tradition. Differences in outlook between the two source categories lead to conclusion on how they can complement each other to gain a fuller picture of historical processes.
