  • An Elisabethan era in Scandinavian archaeology : From women's studies to a heritage of intersectionality
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Med hjärta och hjärna. - Göteborg : University of Gothenburg. - 9185245577 ; , s. 11-22
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Elisabeth is a pioneer author of numerous works of gender and feminism in Scandinavian archaeology, and also a pioneer academic teacher of the approaches. Through Elisabeth’s career, lines can be followed from Women’s studies, through gender issues, queer approaches and postcolonial, Intersectional and Maroon perspectives, together with the integration of gender with heritage studies, pedagogy and teaching, and with discipline history. Some of these lines are long and corresponding while others are of recent age. This article seeks to comment on how gender and feminism works in archaeology and in academia at the stage of Elisabeth’s retirement. The production of feminist knowledge has shown us that approaches of Situated knowledge together with Intersectionality have been integrated on a large scale, and considered to be influential and inventive resources to future discourses.

  • Budsene for better and for worse : Diffractions of the lives
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Counterpoint: Essays in archaeology and heritage studies. - Oxford : Archaeopress. - 9781407311265 ; , s. 159-164
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The Budsene hoard, arranged with animal bones, female dress equipment, and spiral rings in a well, represents a rare type in hoards. Period V hoards are also dissimilar to contemporary burials in equipment. In this paper Budsene is related to a living person, to resources, production, and life-cycle of a farm. It is suggested that the Budsene hoard presents a glimpse into women’s co-responsibilities in the production and organization of a farm in a prosperous North European setting.
