  • A posteriori error analysis of component mode synthesis for the elliptic eigenvalue problem
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering. - : Elsevier. - 0045-7825 .- 1879-2138. ; 200:41-44, s. 2840-2847
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We develop a posteriori error estimates for the error associated with model reduction of elliptic eigenvalue problems using component mode synthesis (CMS). The estimates reflect to what degree each CMS subspace influence the overall error in the reduced solution. This allows for automatic error control through adaptive algorithms that determine suitable dimensions of each CMS subspace.

  • Fostering creativity through artistic interventions: Two stories of failed attempts to commodify creativity
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Artistic Interventions in Organizations: Research, theory and practice. - : Routledge. - 9781138821132
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Creativity has become an inseparable companion in the discussion about innovation and development, aimed at both contributing to economic growth and coping with changing environments. This chapter aims at problematizing the understanding of creativity in practices to foster creativity in organizations by in particular focusing on two different artistic interventions. Our studies of the Big meets small project in Sweden and of the artistic interventions at Reklam in Austria present two cases of failed attempts to commodify creativity. Both artistic interventions were designed as artists-in-residence projects. The idea was that the creativity, inherent to the artist, could be transferred to an organization by means of more or less structured encounters and in exchange for money, space or other resources. We present both cases in detail and analyze the attempts of commodifying creativity and exchanging it for money, time and visibility. Our analysis shows, however, that these attempts are bound to fail and creativity escapes commodification. In our discussion we point to the fact that although the idea of commodifying creativity in artistic interventions is problematic, artistic interventions are worth being performed and there are possible setups to foster creativity within organization.

  • Adjunctive diagnostic value of targeted electrical impedance imaging to conventional methods in the evaluation of breast lesions
  • 2005
  • Ingår i: Acta radiologica (Stockholm, Sweden : 1987). - : SAGE Publications. - 0284-1851 .- 1600-0455. ; 46:8, s. 782-790
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of targeted electrical impedance imaging in characterizing breast lesions, and to evaluate whether lesion size, depth and histopathology affect the diagnosis. Material and Methods: A total of 137 women with 145 lesions (79 malignant and 66 benign) found by palpation or mammography were prospectively enrolled in this study. The patients were examined by means of clinical breast examination, mammography, ultrasonography, and electrical impedance imaging with TransScan TS2000. A level of suspicion (LOS) post-processing algorithm (v2.67) was used for TS2000 lesion assessment. Imaging findings were correlated with cytologic ( n = 54) and histologic diagnoses ( n = 91). Patients with benign lesions were followed up for a mean of 36 months. Results: TS2000 showed a high sensitivity (86%) which did not differ significantly from that of mammography (87%) and ultrasonography (US) (75%). The specificity of TS2000 (49%) was significantly lower compared to mammography (97%, P<0.0001) and US (100%, P<0.0001). The additive use of TS2000 to mammography and US yielded no significant increase in sensitivity (97%), but the decrease in specificity was significant (46%, P<0.0001). Diagnostic effectiveness of TS2000 (Az = 0.68), as measured by the area under the ROC curve, was significantly lower than for mammography (Az = 0.93, P<0.0001) and for US (Az = 0.91, P<0.0001). When using TS2000 in addition to mammography and US (Az = 0.86), a significant impairment was found ( P = 0.0003). Conclusion: The role of targeted electrical impedance imaging as an adjunct to mammography and ultrasonography in the diagnosis of breast lesions is not justified by the result of this study.

  • Good Practice Guide: The Use of Digital Resources in University Programmes : Digital Literacy as a Way to Improve Students' Employability. Case Studies from the COLISEE Project
  • 2017. - 1
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • The good practice identified through two years of activity within the COLISEE project is valuable since these activities have produced practical examples which can be analyzed, and pathways which can be followed, but not models which can be reproduced, given the fact that the local context and environment vary so much from one university to another. The authors of this booklet are aware that there is a long way for each university to go if they want to develop a true digital culture and overcome the well documented resistance to change. However, the contribution of the project in terms of the digital resources identified and made available to a varied public (students, university teachers etc.) is substantial given the fact that the digital resources which have been evaluated, developed (e.g. MOOCs) and tested within the bounds of the COLISEE project are numerous and respond to a real need. The effort expended by the authors on this piece of team work has centered on the three key competences of the project but also of the forthcoming Master’s programme (plurilingualism and corporate culture).Concluding RemarksAs we reach the end of this booklet on ‘The use of Digital Resources in University Programmes’, it is worth noting both the limitations of this piece of collaborative work and the contributions it has made, especially in terms of the sustainability of the project and the anticipated impact of the COLISEE project deliverables. Its limitations lie in the fact that it cannot lay any claim to have come up with a model which others can follow. The good practice identified through two years of activity within the COLISEE project is valuable since these activities have produced practical examples which can be analyzed, and pathways which can be followed, but not models which can be reproduced, given the fact that the local context and environment vary so much from one university to another. The effort expended by the authors on this piece of team work has centered on the three key competences of the project but also of the forthcoming Master’s programme (plurilingualism and corporate culture). The students from the various universities who follow this Master’s course will be able to develop each of the three competences autonomously as well as develop familiarity with the use of new technologies. The university teachers who participate in the Master’s will be able to enrich their own professional practice so long as they make the effort to undertake training and to question their own practices. Overall, this good practice guide fully meets one of the outcomes expected from the COLISEE project.

  • Kartläggning av invandrarföretagande i Norrköping och Linköping
  • 2008
