  • Management Consulting For Client Learning? Clients’ Perceptions on Learning In Management Consulting
  • 2002. - 1st Edition
  • Ingår i: Developing Knowledge and Value in Management Consulting. - Greenwich, CT : Information Age Publishing. - 9781931576024 ; , s. 3-32
  • Bokkapitel (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Management consulting is generally described as a process of helping managers solve problems that appear as part of their managerial responsibilities. The International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), for example, defines management consulting as "the rendering of independent advice and assistance about the process of management to clients with management responsibilities" (www.icimi.com). This view of management consulting, with its focus on the consultants independence, draws a strong line between the consultants and the client. Indeed, in the literature the consultant¨s independent and neutral role in relation to the client is repeatedly highlighted as a central feature of management consulting (Greiner & Metzger, 1983; Kyrö, 1995). A management consultant stands apart from the client, not taking the client's problem definition and facts as a given, but forming his or her own, independent appraisal (Greiner & Metzger, 1983, p. 6).

  • Attitudes towards work life among clients in psychiatric outpatient clinics
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Nordic Journal of Rehabilitation.
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The purpose of the study was to explore factors related to recovery back to work life among clients in psychiatric outpatient clinics. An inventory was answered by 270 participants. Besides descriptives, chi2, ANOVA analyses and standard multiple regression were carried out. The main results were that about 20 % of the participants had experienced prejudices in their care contacts and 30% had experiences of prejudices at work sites. The participants who worked had experienced fewer prejudices and had higher recovery self-efficacy and fighting spirit than those who did not work. Multiple regression analyses revealed that fighting spirit and social support in work life were associated with the intention to work. The results partly reflect previous research but highlight the importance of work and fighting spirit in the recovery process. Improvements, such as incentives to employers and interventions which decrease prejudices, are suggested.

  • Report of the Fourth International Workshop on molecular blood group genotyping.
  • 2011
  • Ingår i: Vox Sanguinis. - : Wiley. - 1423-0410 .- 0042-9007. ; 101, s. 327-332
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The fourth International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) workshop on molecular blood group genotyping was held in 2010, with a feedback meeting at the ISBT Congress in Berlin, Germany. Fifty laboratories participated, 17 more than in 2008. Six samples were distributed. Samples 1-3 were DNA samples for all red cell blood group tests available to the participants. Of the 46 laboratories that tested these samples, 37 obtained completely correct results, although the extent of testing varied considerably. Sample 4, also a DNA sample, was an Rh problem in which RHDΨ and RHCE*ceCF were present, but the participants were only informed that the donor's red cells typed as positive with some monoclonal anti-D. Of the 42 laboratories that participated in this exercise, seven performed the sequencing necessary to obtain the correct result. Samples 5 and 6 were plasma samples from RhD-negative pregnant women, for foetal RhD testing. These were sent to 25 laboratories, and two incorrect results were reported. Overall, the level of accuracy was about equal to that of the previous workshop. The main conclusion for the last two workshops can be reiterated: with greater care and attention to detail, very high standards could be set for molecular blood group genotyping.

  • Report of the Third International Workshop on Molecular Blood Group Genotyping
  • 2009
  • Ingår i: Vox Sanguinis. - : Wiley. - 1423-0410 .- 0042-9007. ; 96:4, s. 337-343
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Third International Society of Blood Transfusion Workshop on Molecular Blood Group Genotyping was held in 2008, with a feedback meeting at the International Society of Blood Transfusion Congress in Macao SAR, China. Thirty-three laboratories participated, eight less than in 2006. Six samples were distributed: sample 1 representing DNA from a sample referred because of abnormal serological results in D testing; samples 2 and 3 from transfusion-dependent patients for testing for all clinically important polymorphisms; sample 4 a mixture of two DNA samples designed to simulate a chimera, referred because of abnormal serological results in donor testing; and samples 5 and 6 plasma samples from RhD-negative pregnant women, for fetal RhD testing (only tested by 17 laboratories). For samples 1-3, 24 of 33 laboratories obtained completely correct results. For sample 4, the ability to detect the minority DNA population was partly dependent on method. Of the 17 laboratories that received samples 5 and 6, 13 reported correct results on both samples. Overall a small improvement from previous workshops was noted, but there is still room for improvement. The main conclusion for the 2006 workshop can be reiterated: with greater care and attention to detail, very high standards could be set for molecular blood group genotyping.

  • Supply Chain Carbon Footprint Tradeoffs Using Simulation
  • 2012
  • Ingår i: Proceedings - Winter Simulation Conference. - 0891-7736.
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Supply chain design and operational decisions may impact the carbon footprint of the products flowingthrough. It is a challenge to determine the carbon footprint and even more challenging to understand theimpact of design and operational decisions on the footprint. This paper presents a hierarchical simulationbasedapproach for estimating the carbon footprint of products flowing through a supply chain. SystemsDynamics simulation is used at a high abstraction level to understand the major factors that may affect thecarbon footprint. Discrete event simulation is then used to delve down in detail for evaluating the criticalstages in the supply chain. A case study for a closed-loop supply chain of forklift brakes is used as an exampleof implementation of the approach.

  • Mechanochemical Defluorinative Acylation of ortho-Hydroxyarylenaminones by CF3-Compounds: Synthesis of 3-Acylchromones
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Advanced Synthesis and Catalysis. - : Wiley. - 1615-4150 .- 1615-4169. ; 365:12, s. 2026-2035
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • An alternative strategy for the mechanochemical defluorinative acylation of ortho-hydroxyarylenaminones has been developed to synthesise 3-acylchromones utilizing CF3-compounds via activation of the C−F bound of the trifluoromethyl group in the presence of ytterbia (Yb2O3). The current protocol tolerated a wide range of coupling substrates to access a library of diversely substituted 3-acylchromones under the mechanochemically induced domino cyclisation mode. This is the first report for the deflourinative transformation of the inert CF3 group to the corresponding carbonyl functionality under the mechanochemical conditions.

  • New forms of work among young people: Implications for the working environment.
  • 2019
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Changes in the labor marked globally and in the Nordic countries involve new forms of work and atypical employment among young workers. A significant proportion of young workers are in temporary positions, working irregular working hours, and part-time work. This also applies to the young workers portrayed in this report. They are working at online platforms as e-sport gamers, YouTuber or Influencers, an thus move into the borderland of the meanings we usually ascribe to the categories ‘work’ and ‘working environment’. This development also apply to traditional professions, such as carpentry work or service work, but the new aspect is that the work is mediated through online platforms, which seems to affect the working environment for those young workers. It is important to know more about new employment forms if we are to improve working environment among these young workers.
