  • Tailoring magnetic order via atomically stacking 3d/5d electrons to achieve high-performance spintronic devices
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Applied Physics Reviews. - : AMER INST PHYSICS. - 1931-9401. ; 7:1
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The ability to tune magnetic orders, such as magnetic anisotropy and topological spin texture, is desired to achieve high-performance spintronic devices. A recent strategy has been to employ interfacial engineering techniques, such as the introduction of spin-correlated interfacial coupling, to tailor magnetic orders and achieve novel magnetic properties. We chose a unique polar-nonpolar LaMnO3/SrIrO3 superlattice because Mn (3d)/Ir (5d) oxides exhibit rich magnetic behaviors and strong spin-orbit coupling through the entanglement of their 3d and 5d electrons. Through magnetization and magnetotransport measurements, we found that the magnetic order is interface-dominated as the superlattice period is decreased. We were able to then effectively modify the magnetization, tilt of the ferromagnetic easy axis, and symmetry transition of the anisotropic magnetoresistance of the LaMnO3/SrIrO3 superlattice by introducing additional Mn (3d) and Ir (5d) interfaces. Further investigations using in-depth first-principles calculations and numerical simulations revealed that these magnetic behaviors could be understood by the 3d/5d electron correlation and Rashba spin-orbit coupling. The results reported here demonstrate a new route to synchronously engineer magnetic properties through the atomic stacking of different electrons, which would contribute to future applications in high-capacity storage devices and advanced computing.

  • The first visual object tracking segmentation VOTS2023 challenge results
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: 2023 IEEE/CVF International conference on computer vision workshops (ICCVW). - : Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. - 9798350307443 - 9798350307450 ; , s. 1788-1810
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The Visual Object Tracking Segmentation VOTS2023 challenge is the eleventh annual tracker benchmarking activity of the VOT initiative. This challenge is the first to merge short-term and long-term as well as single-target and multiple-target tracking with segmentation masks as the only target location specification. A new dataset was created; the ground truth has been withheld to prevent overfitting. New performance measures and evaluation protocols have been created along with a new toolkit and an evaluation server. Results of the presented 47 trackers indicate that modern tracking frameworks are well-suited to deal with convergence of short-term and long-term tracking and that multiple and single target tracking can be considered a single problem. A leaderboard, with participating trackers details, the source code, the datasets, and the evaluation kit are publicly available at the challenge website1

  • Comparison of mechanical properties of various joining processes of aluminum-titanium light alloy
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Suxing Gongcheng Xuebao/Journal of Plasticity Engineering. - : Beijing Res. Inst. of Mechanical and Elec. Technology. - 1007-2012. ; 30:8, s. 138-145
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • 5A06 aluminum alloy and TA1 titanium alloy were selected for the connection tests of flow drill screw, ultrasonic clinch and ultrasonic self-piercing riveting. The influence of plate overlap methods on mechanical properties of each group of joints was studied by static tensile tests. The results show that the mechanical properties of the flow drill screw joints and the ultrasonic self-piercing riveted joints are significantly improved when the soft plate is on top during the riveting process. The plate overlap method has little effect on the ultrasonic clinch joint. Flow drill screw joints have the best cushioning and shock absorption performance, but the stability is poor, and it is more limited when applied to body structures. Ultrasonic clinch joints have low cost and simple process, but poor shear resistance and are not suitable for body structures subjected to high stress. Compared with the other two connection methods, the ultrasonic self-piercing riveted connection has the best stability, the best tensile resistance and shear stiffness, and is suitable for much of the structure in lightweight field of automobile body. © 2023 Beijing Res. • Reversed charge transfer induced by nickel in Fe-Ni/Mo2C@nitrogen-doped carbon nanobox for promoted reversible oxygen electrocatalysis
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Journal of Energy Chemistry. - : Elsevier. - 2095-4956 .- 2096-885X. ; 88, s. 202-212
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The interaction between metal and support is critical in oxygen catalysis as it governs the charge transfer between these two entities, influences the electronic structures of the supported metal, affects the adsorption energies of reaction intermediates, and ultimately impacts the catalytic performance. In this study, we discovered a unique charge transfer reversal phenomenon in a metal/carbon nanohybrid system. Specifically, electrons were transferred from the metal-based species to N-doped carbon, while the carbon support reciprocally donated electrons to the metal domain upon the introduction of nickel. This led to the exceptional electrocatalytic performances of the resulting Ni-Fe/Mo2C@nitrogen-doped carbon catalyst, with a half-wave potential of 0.91 V towards oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and a low overpotential of 290 mV at 10 mA cm−2 towards oxygen evolution reaction (OER) under alkaline conditions. Additionally, the Fe-Ni/Mo2C@carbon heterojunction catalyst demonstrated high specific capacity (794 mA h gZn−1) and excellent cycling stability (200 h) in a Zn-air battery. Theoretical calculations revealed that Mo2C effectively inhibited charge transfer from Fe to the support, while secondary doping of Ni induced a charge transfer reversal, resulting in electron accumulation in the Fe-Ni alloy region. This local electronic structure modulation significantly reduced energy barriers in the oxygen catalysis process, enhancing the catalytic efficiency of both ORR and OER. Consequently, our findings underscore the potential of manipulating charge transfer reversal between the metal and support as a promising strategy for developing highly-active and durable bi-functional oxygen electrodes.

  • Scalable Synthesis of Photoluminescent Single-Chain Nanoparticles by Electrostatic-Mediated Intramolecular Crosslinking
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Angewandte Chemie International Edition. - : Wiley. - 1433-7851 .- 1521-3773. ; 61:27
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We report the large-scale synthesis of photoluminescent single-chain nanoparticles (SCNPs) by electrostatic-mediated intramolecular crosslinking in a concentrated solution of 40 mg mL−1 by continuous addition of the free radical initiator. Poly(vinyl benzyl chloride) was charged by quaternization with vinyl-imidazolium for the intramolecular crosslinking by using 2,2-dimethoxy-2-phenylacetophenone (DMAP) as the radical initiator. Under the electrostatic repulsion thus interchain isolation, the intrachain crosslinking experiences the transition from coil through pearl-necklace to globular state. The SCNPs demonstrate strong photoluminescence in the visible range when the non-emissive units are confined thereby. Composition and microstructure of the SCNPs are tunable. The photoluminescent tadpole-like Janus SCNP can be used to selectively illuminate interfacial membranes while stabilizing the emulsions.

  • Blue band nonlinear optics and photodarkening in silica microdevices
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Photonics Research. - 2327-9125. ; 10:9, s. 2073-2080
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • There are extensive studies to date on optical nonlinearities in microcavities at the near and mid-IR wavelengths. Pushing this research into the visible region is equally valuable. Here, we demonstrate a directly pumped, blue band Kerr frequency comb and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) at 462 nm in a silica nanofiber-coupled whispering gallery microcavity system. Notably, due to the high optical intensities achieved, photodarkening is unavoidable and can quickly degrade the optical quality of both the coupling optical nanofiber and the microcavity, even at very low pump powers. Nonetheless, stable hyperparametric oscillation and SRS are demonstrated in the presence of photodarkening by taking advantage of in-situ thermal bleaching. This work highlights the challenges of silica-based, short wavelength nonlinear optics in high-quality, small mode volume devices and gives an effective method to overcome this apparent limitation, thus providing a baseline for optics research in the blue region for any optical devices fabricated from silica.

  • Porous Carbon Membrane-Supported Atomically Dispersed Pyrrole-Type Fe-N-4 as Active Sites for Electrochemical Hydrazine Oxidation Reaction
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Small. - : Wiley. - 1613-6810 .- 1613-6829. ; 16:31
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The rational design of catalytically active sites in porous materials is essential in electrocatalysis. Herein, atomically dispersed Fe-N-x sites supported by hierarchically porous carbon membranes are designed to electrocatalyze the hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR), one of the key techniques in electrochemical nitrogen transformation. The high intrinsic catalytic activity of the Fe-N-x single-atom catalyst together with the uniquely mixed micro-/macroporous membrane support positions such an electrode among the best-known heteroatom-based carbon anodes for hydrazine fuel cells. Combined with advanced characterization techniques, electrochemical probe experiments, and density functional theory calculation, the pyrrole-type Fe-N-4 structure is identified as the real catalytic site in HzOR.

  • miR-124 Intensified Oxaliplatin-Based Chemotherapy by Targeting CAPN2 in Colorectal Cancer
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: MOLECULAR THERAPY-ONCOLYTICS. - : CELL PRESS. - 2372-7705. ; 17, s. 320-331
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Our previous study demonstrated that miR-124 was downregulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) compared with normal mucosa, and the downregulated expression of miR-124 was an independent prognostic factor in CRC patients. However, the function of miR-124 in CRC patients treated with chemotherapy is currently unclear. The aim of this study was to determine the miR-124 expression and its regulative role in oxaliplatin (L-OHP)-based chemotherapy of CRC patients. We observed that low miR-124 expression was correlated with worse overall survival (OS) in the 220 patients who received postoperative chemotherapy of 5-fluorouracil [5-FU] +leucovorin+L-OHP (FOLFOX) or capecitabine+L-OHP (XELOX). miR-124 overexpression promoted L-OHP-induced, but not 5-FU-induced, cytotoxicity and apoptosis in HT29 and SW480 cells. CAPN2 was a direct target of miR124, and its protein expression was reduced by forced expression of miR-124. miR-124 inhibited tumorigenesis and promoted OS of mice bearing xenograft tumors, especially upon L-OHP treatment. miR-124 also promoted L-OHP-induced apoptosis and restrained CAPN2 protein expression in xenograft tumors. Our results suggest that miR-124 could be considered as both a predictor of L-OHP-based chemotherapy for personalized treatment and a therapeutic target for CRC.

  • Focal amplifications are associated with chromothripsis events and diverse prognoses in gastric cardia adenocarcinoma
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Nature Communications. - : Springer Nature. - 2041-1723. ; 12
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The role of focal amplifications and extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA) is unknown in gastric cardia adenocarcinoma (GCA). Here, we identify frequent focal amplifications and ecDNAs in Chinese GCA patient samples, and find focal amplifications in the GCA cohort are associated with the chromothripsis process and may be induced by accumulated DNA damage due to local dietary habits. We observe diverse correlations between the presence of oncogene focal amplifications and prognosis, where ERBB2 focal amplifications positively correlate with prognosis and EGFR focal amplifications negatively correlate with prognosis. Large-scale ERBB2 immunohistochemistry results from 1668 GCA patients show survival probability of ERBB2 positive patients is lower than that of ERBB2 negative patients when their surviving time is under 2 years, however, the tendency is opposite when their surviving time is longer than 2 years. Our observations indicate that the ERBB2 focal amplifications may represent a good prognostic marker in GCA patients.
