  • VARIATION ANALYSIS OF CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYMERS LIGHT WEIGHT AERO ENGINE PARTS
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, Proceedings (IMECE). ; 2-B
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper the focus is on variation analysis for composite CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymers) parts. A detailed study of possible sources of variation in manufacturing of CFRP parts is presented. Based on the variables identified a simulation chain on how to manage and simulate this variation is described. This paper also presents a logical approach to how a digital twin for a fully automated production line of compression molded CFRP parts can be built, and to investigate and quantify how much each individual variable contributes to the final variation in the component.

  • SKILLS : A psychoeducational group programme for children with ADHD
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Scandinavian Journal of Psychology. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 0036-5564 .- 1467-9450. ; 62:4, s. 460-467
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Psychoeducation is regarded as a first line of intervention for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Previous studies have been limited to psychoeducation for adult patients or parents of children with ADHD. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the acceptability and effectiveness of a psychoeducational group intervention for children with ADHD. The two-session psychoeducational intervention, SKILLS, was completed by 125 children (6-12 years) with ADHD and their parents. Self-ratings and parental ratings of ADHD symptoms, functional impairment and attitudes to diagnosis and treatment were collected before and after treatment. Post-treatment client satisfaction and parental responses to an open question about SKILLS were assessed. The data were analyzed using a combination of quantitative and qualitative (content analysis) methods. A majority of the participants expressed satisfaction with the group intervention. The intervention had no effect on symptoms and level of function, although the parents were more positive to their child's diagnosis after the intervention. The parents were positive to the group format and to the opportunity for their children to meet other children with similar symptoms. Parents wished for more interactive elements and more opportunities for children to share experiences. We concluded that the group intervention was accepted by most participants, although more activating exercises and opportunities for interaction between participants should be included. Since the intervention group was not compared with a control group, the results should be interpreted with caution. Future studies should use a randomized control treatment design and investigate the effect on adherence to later treatment.

  • A MANUFACTURING COMPENSATION METHOD AS APPLIED TO CFRP COMPONENTS IN AERO ENGINES
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, Proceedings (IMECE). ; 3
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper the focus is on applying compensation to the manufacturing process based on the results of shape distortion simulation for composite CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymers) parts. The objective of the simulation is to predict the deformation due to the manufacturing process to enable the layup, compression and mold tool to be modified to compensate for these distortions to achieve a net shape component at the end of the process. A case study is presented to demonstrate how the results from the shape distortion simulation can be used to compensate for the global deformations. This case study describes the complete process on how to go from a nominal CAD model (design intent) towards to a virtually designed compensated lay-up and mold tool.

  • Automated and interactive evaluation of welding producibility in an multidisciplinary design optimization environment for aircraft components
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: International Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 1955-2505 .- 1955-2513. ; 15:4, s. 463-479
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The automation capabilities and virtual tools within engineering disciplines, such as structural mechanics and aerodynamics, enable efficient Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) approaches to evaluate and optimize the performance of a large number of design variants during early design stages of aircraft components. However, for components that are designed to be welded, in which multiple functional requirements are satisfied by one single welded structure, the automation and simulation capabilities to evaluate welding-producibility and predict welding quality (geometrical deformation, weld bead geometrical quality, cracks, pores, etc) are limited. Besides the complexity of simulating all phenomena within the welding process, one of the main problems in welded integrated components is the existing coupling between welding quality metrics and product geometry. Welding quality can vary for every new product geometrical variant. Thus, there is a need of analyzing rapidly and virtually the interaction and sensitivity coefficients between design parameters and welding quality to predict welding producibility. This paper presents as a result an automated and interactive welding-producibility evaluation approach. This approach incorporates a data-based of welding-producibility criteria, as well as welding simulation and metamodel methods, which enable an interactive and automated evaluation of welding quality of a large number of product variants. The approach has been tested in an industrial use-case involving a multidisciplinary design process of aircraft components. The results from analyzing the welding-producibility of a set of design variants have been plotted together with the analysis results from other engineering disciplines resulting in an interactive tool built with parallel coordinate graphs. The approach proposed allows the generation and reuse of welding producibility information to perform analyses within a big spectrum of the design space in a rapid and interactive fashion, thus supporting designers on dealing with changes and taking fact-based decisions during the multidisciplinary design process.

  • Evaluation of a structured skills training group for adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder : a randomised controlled trial
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: European Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. - : Springer. - 1018-8827 .- 1435-165X. ; 31:7, s. 1-13
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adolescence is associated with behavioural, emotional and interpersonal problems, and non-pharmacological treatments targeting these difficulties have been requested. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and acceptance of an age-adapted structured skills training group (SSTG) for adolescents with ADHD. Adolescents (n = 184, ages 15-18 years) with a diagnosis of ADHD were randomly assigned to either the SSTG, which is based on dialectical behavioural therapy, or an active control group based on psychoeducation. Symptoms of ADHD, behavioural and emotional problems, functional impairment, and health-related outcomes were assessed with self-ratings and parental ratings two weeks before, two weeks after, and six months after treatment. All participants who completed the pre-treatment measurements (n = 164) were included in the main analyses, which were conducted using a linear mixed model. Our results demonstrated no significant group differences in favour of the SSTG for any of the study outcomes. A majority of the participants in both groups reported that they had increased their knowledge about ADHD, improved their ability to manage problems related to the diagnosis, and would recommend the treatment to others. We conclude that the SSTG seems to be acceptable for adolescents with ADHD in a clinical context. However, the treatment was not proved to be more effective or more acceptable than the psychoeducational control intervention.Trial registration: http://www.isrctn.com/ISRCTN17366720,11/05/2016, retrospectively registered.

  • På väg mot kollektivt lärande – inom ramen för samverkan mellan skola och universitet
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Forskning och utveckling i förskola och skola (Fufos). - Piteå : Utbildningsförvaltningen, Piteå kommun. - 2004-3635. ; 3:1, s. 62-81
