  • 2010
  • Ingår i: European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. - : Springer Science and Business Media LLC. - 0031-6970 .- 1432-1041. ; 66:12, s. 1217-1227
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • There were great interindividual differences in warfarin maintenance dosage (ranging from 0.6 to 8.4 mg/day) among the 127 patients with mechanical heart valve prostheses. VKORC1-1639G>A, CYP2C9, EPHX1691A>G polymorphism, body weight, and age were found to affect the dose demands. Multiple linear regression models incorporating genetic polymorphisms of VKORC1, CYP2C9, EPHX1691A>G, and the nongenetic factors of age and body weight were developed, and explained up to 76.8% of the total variation (adjusted R (2) of 0.743) in warfarin maintenance doses in southwest Chinese patients with mechanical heart valve prostheses.

  • 2013
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • This document describes the problem space for the METIS research conducted in the radio link context. Firstly, a requirement analysis for the air interface design is conducted based on the test case descriptions presented in METIS deliverable D1.1. It follows an introduction of the research topics being pursued in the radio link research together with an illustration of how these topics are addressing the derived requirements. Moreover, it is shown which of thoserequirements address the needs of the METIS horizontal topics. To facilitate the achievement of these three objectives, a framework of General Requirements is introduced, which will be used throughout the project to assess and evaluate developed radio link solutions and to allow for measuring against the overall system performance goals.

  • Identification of sources of heavy metals in agricultural soils using multivariate analysis and GIS
  • 2013
  • Ingår i: Journal of Soils and Sediments. - : Springer Berlin/Heidelberg. - 1439-0108 .- 1614-7480. ; 13:4, s. 720-729
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose: Heavy metals in agricultural soils readily enter the food chain when taken up by plants, but there have been few investigations of heavy metal pressure in farming areas with low background concentrations. This study was carried out in a cultivation area of Northeast China that has undergone decades of intensive farming, with the aim of identifying the sources of accumulated heavy metals in agricultural soils using multivariate analysis and geographic information system (GIS).Materials and methods: In 2011, concentrations of total iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr) and cobalt (Co), as well as soil pH and organic matter, were measured at 149 sites in arable soils in the study area. The principal component analysis (PCA) was employed to extract hidden subsets from the raw dataset in order to detect possible sources. Metal contents in soils from various croplands were further investigated using analysis of variance. With the Kriging interpolation method, GIS was used to display the PCA results spatially to explore the influence of land use on heavy metal accumulation. Results and discussion: Most of the studied metals in arable soils of the study area were shown to have low concentrations, except for Cd (0.241 mgkg−1). According to the results of the PCA analysis, Fe, Mn, Pb, Zn, Cd, and Co formed the first component (PC1) explaining 40.1 % of the total variance. The source of these metals was attributed to farming practices (“anthropogenic” factor). Cu, Ni, and Cr fell into the second component (PC2), heavy metals that derived from parent rock materials (“lithogetic” factor). This component describes 24.6 % of the total variance. Compared to paddy lands, soils in drylands had greater accumulations of all the  etals in PC1, which can be explained by a higher rate of phosphorus fertilizer application and a longer farming history. Conclusions: Owing to the natural low backgrounds, soils in the study area were safe from heavy metal pollution with a contamination risk of Cd the only exception. Multivariate analysis and GIS were effective means in helping to identify the sources of soil metals and addressing the land use influence on soil metals accumulation. This work can support the development of strategy and policies to aid in the prevention of widespread heavy metal contamination in area with characteristics similar to those of the study area.

  • Facile synthesis, optical properties and theoretical calculation of two novel two-photon absorption chromophores
  • 2010
  • Ingår i: Journal of Luminescence. - : Elsevier BV. - 0022-2313 .- 1872-7883. ; 130:4, s. 654-659
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Two heterocycle-based derivatives that can be used as two-photon absorption chromophore, 9-butyl-3-(2,6-diphenylpyridin-4-yl)-9H-carbazole (BDPYC) and 9-butyl-3-(4-(2, 6-diphenylpyridin-4-yl)styryl)-9H-carbazole (BDPSC) have been successfully synthesized and fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and MS. The molecules possess D-pi-A structures, but have different pi bridge. The 9-butylcarbazole is used as a donor (D), and the pyridine ring is used as an acceptor (A). One- and two-photon absorption and excited fluorescence properties in various solvents were experimentally investigated. Two-photon initiated optical data recording experiments have been carried Out under 740 nm laser radiation, and the possible mechanism of optical data storage is discussed based on theoretical calculations.

  • Plasmonic Fano resonances in metallic nanorod complexes
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: Nanoscale. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 2040-3372 .- 2040-3364. ; 6:10, s. 4985-4997
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Plasmonic Fano resonances (FRs) in nanostructures have been extensively studied in recent years. Nanorod-based complexes for FRs have also attracted much attention. The basic optical properties and fabrication technology of different kinds of plasmonic nanorods have been greatly developed over the last several years. The mutipole plasmon resonances and their flexible adjustment ranges on nanorods make them promising for FR modifications and structure diversity. In this paper, we review some recently studied plasmonic nanorod based nanostructures for FRs, including single nanorods, dimers, mutipole rods and nanorod-nanoparticle hybrids. The corresponding applications of the FRs are also briefly discussed. This journal is © the Partner Organisations 2014.

  • Simultaneous Multiple Wavelength Upconversion in a Core-Shell Nanoparticle for Enhanced Near Infrared Light Harvesting in a Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces. - : American Chemical Society (ACS). - 1944-8244 .- 1944-8252. ; 6:20, s. 18018-18025
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The efficiency of most photovoltaic devices is severely limited by near-infrared (NIR) transmission losses. To alleviate this limitation, a new type of colloidal upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), hexagonal core-shell-structured beta-NaYbF4:Er3+(2%)/NaYF4:Nd3+(30%), is developed and explored in this work as an NIR energy relay material for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). These UCNPs are able to harvest light energy in multiple NIR regions, and subsequently convert the absorbed energy into visible light where the DSSCs strongly absorb. The NIR-insensitive DSSCs show compelling photocurrent increases through binary upconversion under NIR light illumination either at 785 or 980 nm, substantiating efficient energy relay by these UCNPs. The overall conversion efficiency of the DSSCs was improved with the introduction of UCNPs under simulated AM 1.5 solar irradiation.
