  • The Fourteenth Data Release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey : First Spectroscopic Data from the Extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey and from the Second Phase of the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment
  • 2018
  • Ingår i: Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series. - : IOP Publishing Ltd. - 0067-0049 .- 1538-4365. ; 235:2
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The fourth generation of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV) has been in operation since 2014 July. This paper describes the second data release from this phase, and the 14th from SDSS overall (making this Data Release Fourteen or DR14). This release makes the data taken by SDSS-IV in its first two years of operation (2014-2016 July) public. Like all previous SDSS releases, DR14 is cumulative, including the most recent reductions and calibrations of all data taken by SDSS since the first phase began operations in 2000. New in DR14 is the first public release of data from the extended Baryon Oscillation Spectroscopic Survey; the first data from the second phase of the Apache Point Observatory (APO) Galactic Evolution Experiment (APOGEE-2), including stellar parameter estimates from an innovative data-driven machine-learning algorithm known as "The Cannon"; and almost twice as many data cubes from the Mapping Nearby Galaxies at APO (MaNGA) survey as were in the previous release (N = 2812 in total). This paper describes the location and format of the publicly available data from the SDSS-IV surveys. We provide references to the important technical papers describing how these data have been taken (both targeting and observation details) and processed for scientific use. The SDSS web site (www.sdss.org) has been updated for this release and provides links to data downloads, as well as tutorials and examples of data use. SDSS-IV is planning to continue to collect astronomical data until 2020 and will be followed by SDSS-V.

  • Coopetition research in theory and practice : growing new theoretical, empirical, and methodological domains
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Industrial Marketing Management. - : Elsevier BV. - 0019-8501 .- 1873-2062. ; 57, s. 4-11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper we discuss the theoretical rooting of present research on coopetition and point to the need for an integration of theories on competition dynamics, and cooperative interactions in social networks. We argue that the future growth of the coopetitive research field hinges on creatively combining existing theoretical approaches with novel research methods and contexts. In particular, we suggest that incorporating theories on the micro foundations of strategic action can substantially enhance the field. The aim of this paper is both to raise questions regarding the theory and practice of coopetition research and to give examples of new approaches and trends that may contribute to the advancement of the field in the future. We consider our research practice and explore avenues for further research starting from what, where and how we study coopetition, to when and who we study. In general, we call for a stronger focus on the centrality of multiple stakeholders in forming, executing, and developing coopetition, and on research methods that can investigate in depth the multitude of actors, interests, and interactions using a multi-level analysis, including the micro foundations of coopetition.

  • Clinical validation of a novel automated cell-free DNA screening assay for trisomies 21, 13, and 18 in maternal plasma.
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Prenatal diagnosis. - : Wiley. - 1097-0223 .- 0197-3851. ; 39:11, s. 1011-1015
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • To evaluate clinical performance of a new automated cell-free (cf)DNA assay in maternal plasma screening for trisomies 21, 18, and 13, and to determine fetal sex.Maternal plasma samples from 1200 singleton pregnancies were analyzed with a new non-sequencing cfDNA method, which is based on imaging and counting specific chromosome targets. Reference outcomes were determined by either cytogenetic testing, of amniotic fluid or chorionic villi, or clinical examination of neonates. The samples examined included 158 fetal aneuploidies. Sensitivity was 100% (112/112) for trisomy 21, 89% (32/36) for trisomy 18, and 100% (10/10) for trisomy 13. The respective specificities were 100%, 99.5%, and 99.9%. There were five first pass failures (0.4%), all in unaffected pregnancies. Sex classification was performed on 979 of the samples and 99.6% (975/979) provided a concordant result. The new automated cfDNA assay has high sensitivity and specificity for trisomies 21, 18, and 13 and accurate classification of fetal sex, while maintaining a low failure rate. The study demonstrated that cfDNA testing can be simplified and automated to reduce cost and thereby enabling wider population-based screening.

  • Psychometric analysis of the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory in a sample of persons treated for myocardial infarction
  • 2015
  • Ingår i: Journal of Nursing Measurement. - : Springer Publishing Company. - 1061-3749 .- 1945-7049. ; 23:1, s. 154-167
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background and Purpose: Fatigue after myocardial infarction is a frequent and distressing symptom in the early recovery phase. The purpose of this study is to psychometrically evaluate the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20). Methods: The MFI-20 was evaluated using Rasch analysis. Results: The result showed that the MFI-20 can be used to obtain a global score reflecting an underlying unidimensional trait of fatigue; a transformation of the summarized raw scale scores into interval scale scores could be made. Also, 4 of the 5 original dimensions separately fitted the Rasch model. Conclusions: Calculation of a global score increases the possibility of identifying persons experiencing fatigue after myocardial infarction, and using the MFI-20 dimension scores increases the possibility of determining each person’s specific fatigue profile.

  • Barriers and facilitators for adolescent girls to take on adult responsibility for dental care ? a qualitative study
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: International Journal of Qualitative Studies on Health and Well-Being. - : Informa UK Limited. - 1748-2623 .- 1748-2631. ; 14:1
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Purpose: This study aims to explore and describe experiences of the dental care system among adolescent dental patients with a recent history of missed dental appointments at public dental clinics (PDCs) in a Swedish county. Methods: Twelve adolescent girls participated in the study. Data were collected by individual, semi-structured, open-ended interviews and analysed with qualitative content analysis. Results: The study findings could be summed into the theme ?Triggers for adolescent girls to take on or not take on adult responsibility for dental care?. The experience of free dental care could be summarized in five main categories: Pain and discomfort; Attractive and healthy teeth; Feeling safe and secure; Taking on the responsibility; and Free of charge. These five categories consisted of 15 subcategories. Conclusions: The results of this study should increase the knowledge on how to meet and treat adolescent girls in dental care. Knowing what will happen during the dental visit was highlighted by the participants as decisive to whether or not they would attend their dental appointments. Therefore, we should as far as possible ensure that our patients feel safe at their dental visits and by trying to avoid painful treatments.

  • Apomorphine formulation influences subcutaneous complications in continuous apomorphine pump therapy for Parkinson’s disease
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Movement Disorders.
  • Konferensbidrag (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Objective: To explore if the occurrence and severity of subcutaneous (sc) nodules is influenced by the pharmaceutical formulation of apomorphine used for sc infusion in advanced Parkinson’s disease (PD).Background: Apomorphine infusion is an effective therapy in advanced PD, but a limitation is troublesome sc nodules. Various chemically non-identical apomorphine formulations are available. Anecdotal clinical experience has suggested that shifting from one of these (Apo-Go PumpFill; apoGPF) to another (Apomorphine PharmSwed; apoPS, developed in Sweden) may influence the occurrence and severity of sc nodules. Methods: In this multicenter open-label prospective observational study, 15 people with advanced PD (mean PD- duration, 13.4 years; median Hoehn & Yahr, IV) on apoGPF since a mean of 2.1 years and with troublesome sc nodules were switched to apoPS. Ongoing interventions to treat existing nodules (ultrasound, massage, Hirudoid cream) continued, and apomorphine as well as other drugs was managed according to clinical routines. Data were collected between May 2015 and March 2017; at baseline, at the time of switching (about 2 weeks later), and up to 1.7-4.2 (mean, 2.5) months post-switch follow-up. Primary outcomes were total nodule numbers, size (mm diameter for the 5 worst nodules), consistency (scored 0-3 for the 5 worst nodules), and associated skin changes (scored 0-4 for the 5 worst nodules) and pain (scored 0-5). Patients also rated their perceived PD severity and motor complications (UPDRS IV). Patient preferences 5-12 months post-switch (2-9 months after follow-up) were also recorded. Results: Apomorphine and L-dopa doses did not change over the observation period (P≥0.400). Baseline nodule numbers (7.4 vs. 4.6; P<0.003), size (92.9 vs. 54.1 mm; P=0.016), consistency (11 vs. 5; P=0.003), skin changes (3 vs. 1.5; P=0.205), and average pain (1 vs. 0; P=0.020) improved 11 weeks post-switch. Patient-reported PD severity (P=0.020) and motor fluctuations improved (P=0.051), whereas dyskinesias tended to increase (P=0.205). At 5-12 months post-switch, 13 patients had decided to remain on apoPS; mainly due to improved nodules. Conclusions: These observations suggest that apoPS may have a better safety profile compared to apoGPF in terms of sc nodule occurrence and severity. There is a need for larger, randomized controlled studies for firmer conclusions.
