  • Developing Data Models for Smart Environmental Performance Management in Production
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology. - 1868-4238 .- 1868-422X. ; 692 AICT, s. 3-15
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • For manufacturing companies to prosper in the long term, they must demonstrate contribution to sustainable development by implementing greener practices using approaches such eco-efficiency and circular economy; i.e., creating social and economic value while minimising the environmental impact of production through efficient, closed-loop circulation of resources. In addition, industrial digitalization presents new opportunities to unlock new ways to measure complex systems’ performance and systematically improve towards circular economy and sustainability. This paper presents the results of a feasibility study aiming to develop a practical toolkit to implement environmental sustainability concepts at factory level. To achieve the project objective, we focused on data handling practices for environmental performance management, including process mapping, data inventory, data quality assessment, and gap analysis to identify existing strengths and define areas of improvement to boost the environmental performance of production systems.

  • Development of trauma team cognition can be explained by "split vision": A grounded theory study
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Journal of Interprofessional Care. - : TAYLOR & FRANCIS INC. - 1356-1820 .- 1469-9567. ; 37:5, s. 706-714
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The aim of this study was to explore interaction of interprofessional hospital trauma teams. A theory about how team cognition is developed through a dynamical process was established using grounded theory methodology. Video recordings of in-real-life resuscitations performed in the emergency ward of a Scandinavian mid-size urban hospital were collected and eligible for inclusion using theoretical sampling. By analyzing interactions during seven trauma resuscitations, the theory that trauma teams perform patient assessment and resuscitation by alternating between two process modes, the two main categories "team positioning" and "sensitivity to the patient," was generated. The core category "working with split vision" explicates how the teams interplay between the two modes to coordinate team focus with an emergent mental model of the specific situation. Split vision ensures that deeper aspects of the team, such as culture, knowledge, empathy, and patient needs are absorbed to continuously adapt team positioning and create precision in care for the specific patient.

  • Team communication patterns during real and simulated trauma resuscitation-a social network analysis
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Ergonomics. - : TAYLOR & FRANCIS LTD. - 0014-0139 .- 1366-5847. ; 67:2, s. 225-239
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In trauma teams, coordination can be established through a centralised leader. The team can also use a decentralised strategy. In this descriptive study of video-recorded trauma resuscitations, using quantification of qualitative data, Social Network analysis of all real-time communications of eight in-real-life (IRL) and simulated trauma teams explained team social structure. The communication network structures in the simulated scenarios were more centralised using individually directed speech and had a high proportion of communication to update all team members. Such a structure might be the result of work performed in a complexity-stripped simulation environment where simplified task-executions required less interactions, or from work revolving around a deteriorating patient, imposing high demands on rapid decision-making and taskwork. Communication IRL was mostly decentralised, with more variability between cases, possibly due to unpredictability of the IRL case. The flexibility to act in a decentralised manner potentiates adaptability and seems beneficial in rapidly changing situations.Practitioner summary: Efficient collaboration in trauma teams is essential. Communication in in-real-life and simulated trauma teams was analysed using social network analysis. The simulation teams were overall more centralised compared to the IRL teams. The flexibility to act decentralised seems beneficial for emergency teams as it enables adaptability in unpredictable situations.

  • Exploring theoretical conceptualizations and implications for assessment, technology and multimodality
  • 2021
  • Konferensbidrag (populärvet., debatt m.m.)abstract
    • Students and teachers constantly engage in everyday interactions in classrooms by drawing on various multilingual, multimodal and multisensory resources. They draw attention, not only to linguistic and personal relations, but also to artifacts, spatial organization, and other multimodal, sensory properties. In this third presentation, we unpack features of everyday transactions in classrooms from different perspectives on multimodality and literacy. Through different theoretical perspectives, we aim to explore conceptualizations of the two concepts and their relationship to assessment of multimodal texts in a school context. The ambition is to illustrate how different views give attention to the material resources and/or the human meaning-making aspect of semiotic resources. We will discuss how these two aspects may relate to each other and how different comprehensions affect the assessment of students' multimodal texts.

  • Omvårdnad vid psykisk ohälsa : på grundnivå
  • 2024. - 4

  • Students' critical analyses of prominent perspectives in a digital multimodal text
  • 2020
  • Ingår i: Nordic Journal of Digital Literacy. - : UNIVERSITETSFORLAGET AS. - 1891-943X .- 0809-6724. ; 15:3, s. 153-164
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The purpose of this article is to explore how aspects of students' critical digital literacy can be developed through the analysis of digital multimodal texts in a secondary school classroom. The analysis of students' group discussions, when deconstructing a video clip, shows that opportunities to develop a critical awareness of prominent perspectives in a digital multimodal text increase when students become aware of the construction of the text. However, more instructional attention needs to be given to the role modes play across diverse elements in a digital multimodal text.

  • The National Swedish Lymphoma Register - a systematic validation of data quality
  • 2024
  • Ingår i: Acta Oncologica. - : Medical Journals Sweden. - 0284-186X .- 1651-226X. ; 63, s. 563-572
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background and purpose: The Swedish Lymphoma Register (SLR) was initiated in the year 2000 with the aim to monitor quality of care in diagnostics, treatment and outcome of all lymphomas diagnosed nationally among adults. Here, we present the first systematic validation of SLR records as a basis for improved register quality and patient care.Patients and methods: We evaluated timeliness and completeness of register records among patients diagnosed with lymphoma in the SLR (n n = 16,905) compared with the National Cancer Register for the period 2013-2020. Comparability was assessed through evaluation of coding routines against national and international guidelines. Accuracy of 42 variables was evaluated through re-abstraction of data from medical records among 600 randomly selected patients diagnosed in 2016-2017 and treated across all six Swedish healthcare regions. Results: Completeness was high, >95% per year for the period 2013-2018, and >89% for 2019-2020 compared to the National Cancer Register. One in four patients was registered within 3 months, and 89.9% within 2 years of diagnosis. Registration instructions and coding procedures followed the prespecified guidelines. Missingness was generally low (<5%), but high for occasional variables, for example, those describing maintenance and consolidative treatment. Exact agreement of categorical variables was high overall (>80% for 24/34 variables), especially for treatment-related data (>80% for 17/19 variables).Interpretation: Completeness and accuracy are high in the SLR, while timeliness could be improved. Finetuning of variable registration guided by this validation can further improve reliability of register reports and advance service to lymphoma patients and health care in the future.
