  • In situ probing of the crystallization kinetics of rr-P3HT on single layer graphene as a function of temperature
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP. - : Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). - 1463-9076 .- 1463-9084. ; 19:12, s. 8496-8503
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We studied the molecular packing and crystallization of a highly regio-regular semiconducting polymer poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) on both single layer graphene and silicon as a function of temperature, during cooling from the melt. The onset of crystallization, crystallites' size, orientation, and kinetics of formation were measured in situ by synchrotron grazing incidence X-ray diffraction (GIXD) during cooling and revealed a very different crystallization process on each surface. A favored crystalline orientation with out of plane pi-pi stacking formed at a temperature of 200 degrees C on graphene, whereas the first crystallites formed with an edge-on orientation at 185 degrees C on silicon. The crystallization of face-on lamellae revealed two surprising effects during cooling: (a) a constant low value of the pi-pi spacing below 60 degrees C; and (b) a reduction by half in the coherence length of face-on lamellae from 100 to 30 degrees C, which corresponded with the weakening of the 2nd or 3rd order of the in-plane (k00) diffraction peak. The final ratio of face-on to edge-on orientations was 40% on graphene, and 2% on silicon, revealing the very different crystallization mechanisms. These results provide a better understanding of how surfaces with different chemistries and intermolecular interactions with the polythiophene polymer chains lead to different crystallization processes and crystallites orientations for specific electronic applications.

  • Combining Design Thinking with Emerging Technologies in K-12 Education
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Methodologies and Intelligent Systems for Technology Enhanced Learning, 13th International Conference. MIS4TEL 2023. - : Springer. - 9783031421334 - 9783031421341 ; , s. 15-27
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The use of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and 3D printing are amongst the EU targeted actions for supporting the digital transformation of education. Yet, despite these technologies being accessible to education stakeholders, there is a lack of concrete pedagogy and teachers’ professional development for their meaningful integration into the current educational context. Extending Design Thinking with Emerging Digital Technologies – Exten (D.T.)2 - is a European funded project aiming to use emerging technologies to enhance the pedagogical value, sustainable digitization, and potential for wide deployment of Design Thinking (DT). DT is a promising pedagogical innovation, based on interdisciplinary co-creation, that can lead to sustainable educational innovation and development of students’ 21st century skills. In this paper, we describe the main components of the proposed educational transformation as developed during the first year of Exten (D.T.)2 including the theoretical foundations of the approach, the co-creation processes for meaningful engagement of teachers with educational innovation. Moreover, we present the educational technology tools (design, extensions, architecture) that are used in the project and the evaluation approach for capturing impact on improving students’ skills and competencies.

  • 3. A conceptual model of conveyances on the housing market
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: The Routledge Companion to International Housing Markets. - London : Routledge. - 9780367646646 - 9781003130383
  • Bokkapitel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • The first important difference between real estate markets and the perfect competition theory is that the real estate market can be divided into a number of sectors: office, retail, industrial, and residential. This chapter outlines how the specific characteristics of the real estate market set the overall rules governing the market. It concludes with a conceptual model of how the conveyance process has different stages. First, a review of different legal systems will be presented. Second, a short exposition of the specific characteristics of the real estate market will be given. Third, and last, the conceptual model of conveyances on the housing market will be outlined and presented. Different legal systems have different prerequisites to confirm it as legally valid. After taking the property in possession and the purchase has been registered, the transaction can still be associated with costs.
